The trails I've checked out vary and it hasn't rained recently so the trail's pretty dry but rutted from other bikes - which can make things interesting as it's a little tougher to pull out of them.Shucker, you own a very nice bike.
By "trail" do you mean hard packed surfaces, or loose slippery, muddy terrain? I'm only asking, as when I reviewed the e-cross P, I found the OE supplied Schwalbe Mondial tyres to be surprisingly good off road. Slightly unnerving on wet grass descents, but that had more to do with the bike not being mine, and being concerned about the possibility of falling off and damaging it.
I'm still getting the hang of the power assist and it catches me off-guard occasionally. Nothing major, but enough to remind me to keep it on Standard mode more than Max assist when the terrain changes rapidly. I'm used to the eCross' thinner tires since they're there same on my other bike so I'm usually prepared for some slipping on loose terrain and tend to embrace it or even embellish it and make things more exciting.
Thanks for your thorough review, it played a factor in my final decision to go with this bike.
