Review of Argos £285 Folding Bike

I went around all my nuts and bolts and tightened them after the first few miles. I am up to over 70 miles right now and have had no issues, other than the failed power switch, which I am ignoring since it failed in the 'on ' position. I did cut and remake the zip ties on the motor cable to get...

    bafang suddenly cut out today

When did you buy the BBS01 Nealh? If it was a good while ago, they had mosfet issues and water ingress at the crank bearing. The problems were well known and were fixed. This was all fixed years ago. Totally different controller and as I understand it, a nice crank bearing seal. Mine was made...

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

No - not yet and I doubt it will, but I am on the watch.

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

Yes. I agree. It was hidden under a running flood from an open water main, gushing out of a stand pipe, at least an inch deep, and just as I came around a corner out of a rough track onto the flooded roadway, the rather fierce controller kicked in.... Ooops.

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

This is a hub motor Guerney, so it wasn't a gearing issue. It was really a momentary issue caused by a water main being opened and gushing onto the road. At the time it happened, there was an inch or more of water on the road, and it was not until a later passage over the place, that I noticed...

Review of Argos £245 E-move folder

How is the Argos £245 folder going? Pretty good really. No issues in the 70 + miles so far ridden on it. I took it out again today to ride up the Alston Railway Path in the North Pennines and added another 10.4 miles during the stormy winds of Storm Lillian. No big deal, pretty gusty though. I...

Samsung - are we just paying for the name?

That assessment of him is mistaken and pretty harsh, in my opinion. He provided what his customers wanted and he carefully explained the legal position, that more powerful bikes than the BBS01 were ONLY legal on private land where the public don't have access. I had no doubt about what I...

Samsung - are we just paying for the name?

Mine wasn't and isn't - well it was until I removed the throttle, which took two minutes. It is a 250 watt BBS01 with a 36 volt battery and a maximum current draw of 15 amps.

Samsung - are we just paying for the name?

I'm sorry to hear that Billy Milburn (Equalspower)may have stopped trading. He did my Specialised/BBS01 conversion and is a good honest guy who would see his customers right if anything went wrong. Last time I saw him, about 18 months ago he was taking on a new shop. He had been working out of a...

    Bosch motor after 4 years

That is a good long run Matthew. Have you had to re-grease the motor and its reduction gearbox / gearboxes? I wonder how long my Bafang BBs will go before I need to intervene with it and put some grease in. I have nowhere near the mileage that you have built up. Just a couple of thousand...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

i have no idea what this post means, or why anyone would type that. What connection does Dr. Ahmed have with a man unfortunate enough to be homeless in a shop doorway?

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Aren't you the guy that is always posting about how idle British people are and how they won't work? You have a very unpleasant view of your own countrymen. I've been around a long time and I have had myriad dealings with all kinds of people and I know when a person is a pan handler and when...

Anybody who thinks ANY of this waste of police time on Twitter posts is OK needs their head examined. https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/woman-is-charged-with-malicious-communication-over-transphobic-tweet-3260331...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Who knows? Perhaps he was not that good at navigating the bureaucracy of the benefits system, but the fact is that a respectably dressed, sober looking elderly man was lying in a shop doorway at about eight in the evening with a bag of possessions and a sleeping bag. Meanwhile - it is beyond...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

What pretexts lunatic extremists say have motivated them to commit inexcusable crimes ought not to be used to arrest people who were not there, and who did not urge, or suggest riot, and if you are correct in saying she was charged with incitement to racial hatred, she should never have been...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Asylum seekers with children are given priority over other people. A month ago, i spoke to a respectably dressed man of about 64, in a shop doorway with a sleeping bag. I asked him if he was alright and how had he come to be camping in a doorway. He told me he had stopped his work to look after...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

You may think it 'SILLY' Peter. I do not. Arresting someone is a serious and a highly intrusive step - especially when their supposed 'offence' is that they typed something on a computer that no one in their right mind who speaks English at GCSE levels of comprehension, could in any way regard...

    Bosch motor after 4 years

Given the super easy access to spares and cost effectiveness of obtaining the parts for my Bafang conversion, i am bemused at the way people throw huge amounts of treasure at Bosch and other companies, only to receive such abusive treatment when they require maintenance and service later.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

By the way - in a free society, what is to stop people 'whipping up grievances'? Does not ASLEF 'whip up grievances'? The Guardian whips them up every day. Owen Jones never writes a piece without whipping them up. Niether does Polly Toynbee, or John Grace. The problem for some, is that they...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I have no time for rioters, or people who incite violence online. The problem is, who decides what incitement is. It seems to me, that in one case, someone was arrested for saying, "all hellwill break loose!". That was plain and simple oppression. Someone shouting or putting online words that...
