Mr Flecc & Professor Hawkins
I think Stephen H. has his head too much in black holes to have an opinion on the subject.

And I just think the campaigns to leave and to remain have the wrong names. I'd suggest;

"Wogs begin at Calais"

and

"Let's do nothing"

are more apposite.

P.S. Crossed with post from d8veh.

That's funny. I was going to write that I reckon I could get better information from Flecc than anybody on the TV or down the pub, but he needs to go shopping today. I didn't want his head to swell so much that he couldn't get through the door.
I'd never shop on a Saturday, it's a madhouse then. And the referendum outcome won't affect me at my age so I'm not deeply engaged with the issue.

Ultimately it's simply a question of whether we wish to be in a union or on our own.

My view is that in a playground of big bullies, it's better to be with one than be the little guy who gets regularly beaten up.

Then to accept that to build a union, a dictator is necessary, in this case the EU Commission, since democratic committees never agree anything, let alone something so complex.

If and when union is achieved, we can have democracy though the European Parliament since the EU Commission will be disbanded.

I would have thought that pedeleckers would want Eu membership. How else will you get S-Pedelecs in the UK.
A all this is a bit of nothing. Most laws are the same, don't kill your neighbor. 25.5kph for ebikes. And 50kph in built up areas. The fine details are fun for politicians but don't mean much to the man in the street.

Back to Winnats.

Tackled it again today, two years to the day since my last record attempt. I've had a bad week health wise so knocking 8 seconds off my previous best time is more down to the wind direction and lower gearing on the bike. Used approximately 60 wh to get up in a time of 6:11. The 300 wh battery was just about empty when I got home.

That's a damned good time Artsu..

How many wh to climb hill ??

I,ll have to go and have another go..
Thanks. around 60 wh as in my post, dropped one bar on my 300 wh battery, luckily it dropped a bar just before the climb, otherwise it's difficult to tell how much you've used.

Oh, that's just too subtle... very good! :)

???
Afraid I ain't subtle so I must be innocent??.

Think we settled discussion quite a while ago, generally hub will climb faster than crank drive on road but will use more current doing so...
Reckon Artsu is using a 500w hub motor ???
I was using approx 50wh to do climb, Artsu approx 60 ??

A weedy Bosch classic, I say weedy because it has reduced assistance for the hub gears in comparison to the more powerful derailleur compatible version.

I've used twice as much power when the wind is blowing the usual way on Winnats.

The wind makes a significant difference, Rushup Edge often sees me going twice as fast heading east, compared to returning into the west wind. Today was the opposite though.

Never miss a chance do you d8 ???
To you and me, who understand motors, it's obvious, but some people that don't know better might draw the wrong inference data like that. I wouldn't want then to make a choice based on that incorrect inference, which then might cause disappointment.

I suspect going 40% faster may have something to do with my higher wh consumption.
