Students go vroom, vroom. Not doing too badly then? Parking probably not cheap either?
Students are mostly a waste of space and are idle b astards. Any excuse. I know I was.

I once made the excuse for missing a deadline by saying my grandmother had died. Thirty days later - she did.

The Conservative party is a grotesque, bloated, anti-democratic monster. It is riddled with corruption, and its accounts have not been audited for well over a decade because no one knows what has happened to some of the vast funds it handled
FIFY :)

Ireland
"20 July 2020, Ireland received State Aid approval from the European Union to operate a Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) out to 2025"

*Subsidised* EU bs "renewables" from the "sceance-tists". Oh they're "cheaper" are they? Now we know the real picture.

via foi request i have found out 17 ppl in our road have inverters over 10 years old and dont work anymore.

council does not care they do not even service them or clean the panels and they think the inverters are good for the same as the panels 25 years

even my new one says 5 years warranty or ten if i get them to service it so i nicked that warranty as just dumped all the paperwork for it in the loft.

they only cost 600 quid but as long as the inverter is powerd on and the bean counter going they dont care if it saves you any money or not.

only 1 month this year we generated more than we used and if we have a power cut they dont work

If you know an electrician, you can have a socket connected to the inverter added so that you can get power when the grid goes down, though that only works if the panels are generating or if you have batteries, otherwise you can get one of those portable power stations.

The persistent storms in Spain and the two week blocked in high pressure system in the UK are all part of the same giant weather system.

Storms and high pressure systems are steered around the planet at these latitudes by the polar jet streams - high altitude very fast rivers of wind which mark the boundaries of cold polar air and warmer tropical air. Normally the northern polar jet stream flows right across northern Britain and depressions follow it one after another giving us our windy damp weather. Now and again, a strange loop forms in the jet stream as warmer air pushes north displacing the colder polar air. You can see the loop on the chart below which represents the situation at about midnight on 12th November.

The weather system is huge and has been persistent - it has't changed much for two weeks.

Looking at the surface pressure situation you can see the high pressure system over the Atlantic just west of the UK.

This is n unusual situation and is why the weather here and in the western Mediterranean keeps on repeating day after day. We get repeated windless misty days and the Spaniards are getting repeated deluges and storms.

Until the jet stream changes there won't be much if any change.

Spain is preparing for more unaccustomed deluges and we are generating very little wind energy.

Science is our only hope for redemption.
We'll soon stop burning fossil fuels, then over population then preservation of all living things.
You keep saying this like some sort of prayer. Your stance is religious rather than realistic. Earlier you prayed that in 25 years all the gas powered generating systems will be mothballed. They won't, because there is nothing that can replace them when we get any kind of extensive period of high pressure. Not unless we go 'French' and build a massive fleet of nuclear stations and the appetite for that in the UK is not very great.

I guess neither of us will be here in 25 years, so there is no point in offering a bet, but if we did, I#d win it just like I did when I bet you that Harris was too unattractive a candidate to win.

That is what science and the people should have been doing for at least two centuries, but I have no faith in either starting to do it now, or even in the medium term future.

I only see a prospect of last minute panic, too late.
.
Science research largely has to follow the money handed to it by government and the private sector. The actual practical realisation has to be funded and in particular, government is dominated by short term thinking in democracies - with politicians focused on the next election cycle.

Then you get the unusual situation of vastly rich entrepreneurs like Musk and Bezos who have more disposable income than whole countries. They can upset the apple cart and spend huge amounts, but they are often weird, quirky individuals and may well spend on absolute nonsense like colonising Mars.

I never understand people who talk about the need to find a new home planet. We evolved here. It is a uniquely tuned planet for our needs and there is nowhere else within at least a hundred thousand year journey that is remotely habitable for humans. Mars has an average temperature of about minus a hundred degrees c. It has an atmosphere whose pressure ls like earths at about 100,000 feet (2% of earths air pressure). It's atmosphere has next to no oxygen or free water. It has levels of radiation that would easily kill a human in a few days unless he is shielded. Oh - and the ground is poisonous, because it is stuffed with toxic percolates. GREAT place to live Elon you total knacker.

Elon Musk just posted this. Why can't we have a DOGE? This new regime is going to be very entertaining.

"All actions of the Department of Government Efficiency will be posted online for maximum transparency.

Anytime the public thinks we are cutting something important or not cutting something wasteful, just let us know!

We will also have a leaderboard for most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars. This will be both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining "

DOGE will be like another one of Trump's scheme to milk those who are poorer than him and his family. What do they know about digital currencies? Look at Trump Digital Media (DJT).

Just like your belief in Kamala, you'll find that you're wrong again. Stop going by what the MSM tells you and use your brain instead.

Musk has bought influence from the Orange Buffoon. The American system is being corrupted by the Fake Tan Idiot. Like Lemmings, the mass of Americans voted for someone who is very dangerous to their much prized democratic system. I suppose one should not be that surprised that the ill-educated should be taken in. They have a very long and well documented history of being taken in wholesale by what they themselves call 'snake oil salesmen', who offer wonderful cures for all ills.
