Well I've had mine running tonight. Its by no means finished though. Same issue as others with the battery location. I've got a rivnut tool so can sort that. Other issues includ the nice new crank sensor. Needs a bit of work to fit to my standard shimano bb.

Only had to file a small amount off the rear drop outs to get the axle in.

As my bike conversion is a step through with a rear rack and I am quite light and only using this for little shopping trips I decided to purchase the RC 11ah kit in the sale. So my first conversion begins :eek:. I seem to have failed at the first hurdle and don't know how to remove the battery from the rack...this maybe a slow process...

My kit has turned up :)
However, problem number 1 to solve is the mounting of the battery. Although I have the required frame clearance (big sigh of relief) the water bottle mounting points are way too low down the frame to accommodate the battery.
I will assume that I can drill a couple of holes in the frame order to accept threaded mounting points such as rivnuts?
Any advice will be gratefully received.
mine arrived and I had the same problem - I'm not sure this is safe but think it should be: at the bottom of the battery mounting there's two screw in bolts that attach the long sliding bit to the controller - if you put a longer m5 bolt with sunken head through the bottom hole and into the water bottle mount it lifts the whole thing higher and high enough to clear at the bottom

Hi d8veh. New to forum and just waiting for Oxydrive 13ah kit to arrive. I saw in a previous post of yours that you can derestrict the top speed. Is this easy to do and if so could you let me know how to do it. Many Thanks. Angus.

You press the set button for 3 seconds to enter the normal setup. A short press avances it to the next parameter. Wheel size is easy because it goes in real sizes like 26". One of the settings is 0 or 6km, which is how the throttle works. 6km gives you only 6km/h from it. 0 means you get the maximum speed set by each level on the display.

While you're in setup mode, you press and hold the SET button for 10 seconds to go to the next setup parameters where there's two more. One of them is the max speed.

The plus and minus buttons increase/decrease any of the parameters.

Yup, I have ordered an 30mm csk M6 hex bolt for that exact purpose.
The tricky bit will be drilling in to the frame (limited clearance) to get the extra mounting points in.
Had some fun(!) this afternoon Dremeling the drop outs so now the motor wheel drops in nicely.
Interestingly the motor does not have a 250/350w rating stamped on it...

Is it 'really' a 250w motor, being sold as a 350w motor?
Not that I'm too bothered, as long as it performs as expected.

Battery removed! Tyre swapped and wheel fitted. Current rack taken
off. Having the next session tomorrow. Thanks for your help D8veh, I had read the destructions but thanks for sharing the link just in case.

Under EN15194, you cannot downgrade a motor. It's rated by the manufacturer. You can only have one that's rated at 250w. The Oxygen/Oxydrive motor is rated at 250w by Bafang. It might look identical to the 350w version, which has 350w stamped on it.

It's a similar situation with the Bosch motor that's rated at 250w. There's also an identical looking one in the S-class bikes that's rated at 350w that seems to have exactly the same windings and dimensions. Go figure it out.

It is 250w as d8veh say's also the sales info on the website also state this.

Right now for my question well actually two.:rolleyes:
Q1: I'm going to fit a pair of torque arms, can I use the anti rotation washers just as spacing washers with the nib ground off ?

Q2: My bb is a Sram GXP with with outer bearings and Truvative Noir chain set, I have had an initial fitting knowing it will need adapting to fit and work correctly. Question is can I use a wheel sensor instead as I have with the BBS01?

This is what led me to understand that the oxydrive CST ht was a 350w motor in an answer in an earlier thread to Tezdread;

There are a couple of things I would like to clarify as I see you kind of confused at the moment.

runs on the classic Bafang CST motor which is large diameter hence it has more motor torque and has Samsung 13Ah battery that uses 50cells Samsung 18650-26F. We recommend it more for off road users or in the very hilly terrain as it's a better hill climber. This is indeed 350W but as it's sold out of the box it is set up to comply with legal requirements anyway down to 250W and 15.5mph with limited current on the controller.This upon request can be removed to allow more power for off road users. The current limit on the controller will not allow the motor to get more power anyway without changing settings in the software."

Just a 'heads up' to those who like me may be curious to why there is no rating stamped on the motor.

1. Use the washers, but don't grind off anything. You only need one correctly fitted torque arm - if any.

2. There should be a conventional pedal sensor in the kit, which fits on the right side. I can't remember how the sensor is fitted to its bracket, but you need to fix it to the other side so that it reaches over your bearing holder. I've not experimented with this one, but you should be able to use any magnet disc if the supplied one is too fat.

Re the washers I will have to do a bit more work on the drop outs to fit them.
The conventional one was the one I was referring to ( didn't make that clear origanally),the sensor is held on with two small machine screws just a case of fitting to the other face to see if that works. The granny chain wheel cog can be removed so may be able to use fit and use supplied mag disc in its place.
As I go along I will take pics and post them for all to see.

Thats strange because the agogs uphill mtb is ce mrked and en15194 marked on the frame.It still has a marked 350w motor as shown in this video at 1.10 min

I also talked to agogs.com 6 months ago and they assured me the bike was completly legal.they are big in europe.

Also its how they word it for instance Cyclotek state their Mxus xf branded hubs as nominal 250w unit but continuous 350w.
