Thats strange because the agogs uphill mtb is ce mrked and en15194 marked on the frame. It still has a marked 350w motor as shown in this video at 3,24 min

I also talked to agogs.com 6 months ago and they assured me the bike was completly legal.they are big in europe.

It's not legal with 350w marked on the motor, which clearly isn't a 250w one!

I suspect that they got a sample bike approved with a motor not marked 350w, then their Chinese friends got a bit mixed up - as is their wont. I've seen this mistake a couple of times before.

BPM and BPM/CST and their clones are fundamentally 350W continuous motors, the performance depends very much on the controller's rating and programming and the abiliity of the battery to support it. The marking is varied to customers' request. Typically, these motors are marked 250W for ready made bikes and 350W for kits. For 250W, the controller needs a rating of 15A, 350W 20A, 500W 25A.

I've spent an hour fiddling with the controller today.

When I go into the 'advanced' setting the max allowable speed you can set is 31mph. Does this sound right?

I've set the wheel size as 27.5, is this 700c?

the option for either 6 or 0 is set at 0.

Is there anything else I need to set to achieve the maximum speed?

In the normal settings, there's three power levels as well as the 5 PAS levels. It's been a long time now, so my memory's a bit vague. They're something like "eco", "normal" and "sport". They control the maximum current allowed by the controller, while as the 5 PAS levels are speed limits. For maximum speed, you have to be level 5 sport.

700c is 29", which doesn't stop Schwalbe labelling my 29er Marathons as '28 x 2.00'.

Are bike tyre sizes confusing?

You bet.

The three power levels and five speed limit levels on the controller are
also hard to grasp, but I'm sure d8 has it right.

The 31mph overall maximum you have found is, if I recall, the same as on the Oxygen MTB I tried - it sounds an odd figure to pick, but equates to 50kph.

The motor will max out before it reaches 31 mph, so it wouldn't go any faster if you set it to 100mph.

Thanks a lot.

I've just been on the first test run and I have to say I am well impressed. Its the first time I've ridden an electric bike and its damn quick for a bicycle!

In 'naughty' mode it'll easily do over 20mph on the flat. A bit of light pedalling takes you to high 20s. I'll report back how it goes on my hilly work run.

I have temporarily left the crank sensor off. The new fangled lh side sensor really doesnt fit my bb. Has anybody else fitted theirs yet?

Cable routing around the chain stays is acceptable at best. Anybody got a picture of how they've routed the cables avoiding the gear cable and chain?

Mine appears to have 6 pas modes but I cant find an eco, standard or sport setting. Its perfectly fast enough I'd just like to know what I am missing on the controller.

IIRC, it's not obvious how to select the power levels, and they're not explained in the LCD manual. I think you have to press the "set" button and then scroll through the settings until you come to it, then "+" and "-" buttons to change it. They have a big effect on power. so you need to find out how to use them. Can someone confirm that this is how you change it? Have I got confused with the Oxygen MTB that has a different display?

Does anybody know how to reset the mileage trip? The manual says press up, down and set. This doesnt seem to do anything.

I'm fully up and running with mine now. Just need to get some warm clothes and it'll be my work hack.

I'm impressed so far but the lcd manual isn't great and the pedelec sensor disappointingly doesnt fit a standard shimano bb.

You could try the instructions RE: C100 display toward the bottom of the link...

The English is a bit broken but it might give a few clues to resetting the trip. I've not done it yet and I think it's going to be hit and miss but if I figure it out I'll post a how to.

You can't reset the odometer. I think there's a separate trip reading that can be reset. Make sure you're trying to reset the right one.

What do you mean by "knobbly".

If you lift the front wheel and turn it backwards, you should feel the motor turning and some resistance from the magnets in it. When you turn it forwatd, it should be smooth and free.

Did you check that the tyre isn't touching your mudguard or its stays?

Thanks D8veh, I will have a further check to make sure. It feels like you are pushing it over small cobbles. I can't see any tyre bulges. I also think the wheel is running true.

Staffordshirehills, have you managed to work out how to reset the trip reading? Its really annoying me at the moment!

Oh, and congratulations on the build completion!

Thanks Ian. I did have to use a few favours with friends though! I haven't looked to reset the trip yet. I just had a nip down the street but then noticed the "cobble" effect. It's not the tyre and I'm pretty sure it isn't the break or mudguard catching. I therefore suspect that it's something to do with how i've fitted the wheel but need to inspect further. I also need to look at how to connect the throttle as I've had to move it to the other side and the connectors aren't long enough - I think I will need to extend the wire and I'm not sure whether that will be a simple job or not. Otherwise, I'm pretty chuffed that I've got her moving! We had to do a few adjustments because the struts on the rear rack were not long enough to connect to the vertical stem due to the angle of the seat limiting how far forward the rack could be fitted. I pinched the old ones off the original rack, turned them inside out and hey presto, they fitted. I also used the new pedal sensor so it will be interesting to see how it goes as it doesn't seem to fit too snugly against the bottom bracket, although on the trial run it did work and certainly the wire didn't move.

The service from Andrew at oxydrive has been very good so far, the kit arrived on time and he has always been prompt answering my emails.

I'll take some pictures of mine at the weekend. Will email oxydrive and ask how to reset the trip.

I ended up using one of those adapters to allow extra accessories to be fitted to the handlebar. Otherwise I couldnt fit the brake levers, shifters and controller on one side and make the throttle cable reach from the other side.

Mines the rear drive kit but I can honestly say its very smooth, no nobbliness at all.
