If you read their intro/ rules for pedelecs you,ll notice a 20 mph limit..yes not a great deal but completely different.
They also have completely different attitude to "off road"..in that they have one...afraid ours went years ago...
So yes it might be international but relevant to uk...not really..
I wasn't suggesting it's relevance to any particular geographical region, merely that it is another portal with a big audience through which you can express your opinions.

Brilliant film...was on the very track at start of film yesterday...the track at the end is way bumpier/ technical than they are making it look...it comes out just above pub...its a pig of a track...
Do you know anymore about it ???
Bike ? Rider ?

Meanwhile back out there in the real world MTB riders continue to ride at speeds in excess of any e-bike out there, pss Flud don't show it to your ranger friend he might have a heart attack.
I ride these tracks a lot, and as an ex World Cup level DH racer I can get up to pretty good speed....BUT as has been mentioned many many many times before speed IS NOT relevant BECAUSE going fast isn't illegal!

riding an illegal ebike up there even at 5 mph puts the rider at risk of lots of problems should they be involved in any kind of incident and also risk getting eMTB, and potentially all MTB banned.

No point telling me that, tell the people in this thread who think it's about the speed of bikes.

Sorry no, just send him a message on his youtube page. It's quite an oldish video now.

I had a feeling you'd know some of the tracks in that footage.
Yep , I keep going to other places but end up back at Lady Bower..its brilliant..great place for every level..

Amazing how flat the track looks at end...it isn't...

Cant fault KTM,s views . They are spot on. Plus 1 , every post.

I don't think anyone who is anti the sPedelecs and Dongles, thinks its about the speed do they?

I'm sure many would be in favour of them if they could be used legally, the problem is that they can't be and that's for a number or reasons that I for one agree with. The fact that people are using them in sensitive places means 2 things are inevitable.

1) There WILL be an accident at some point on or offroad involving a illegal eBike and it will be the test case, and when it happens the individual riding the bike won't have a leg to stand on, and as much as many on here like to think otherwise, the fact is most people riding dongle'd eBikes don't even know they are doing anything wrong because there are a number of traders who just don't tell them.

2) the use of illegal bikes, with the speed restriction removed in sensitive places will result in legal eBikes and potentially all mtb being banned. You and I know that the illegal bikes might not even be going any faster, but that isn't going to matter.

Why don't moderators realise all this ???
Surely they must have some responsibility in it..
There are threads all over place about illegal bikes being used on roads, openly. Its beyond condoning it, Forum almost supports it !!!

Yawn.

They are only interested in the advertising, and wouldn't even promote anything that is anti the firms who are benefiting from this.

Its short sighted, selfish, irresponsible etc etc.

But its business, so some people seem prepared to accept it.

We however stopped advertising, so they lost our £ because of it.

We are still signed up as trade members because I will continue to post about this until the point that they are either legal, or have resulted in eMTB being banned from all the places people have been enjoying using them.

And then I'll just make one post and it'll will be!

WE TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN.

You seem quite an intelligent bloke, rather than mock what is essentially a realistic and plausible argument, please tell me why its such a flawed argument for you to reply " yawn" to my every post , made wholeheartedly with best interest of ebikes/ pedelecs.
I don't understand it ??
A forum sponsored by a company blatantly selling illegal ebikes ? How can that be right ??( If d8veh is correct and he usually is)

I,m surprised with forum owners standpoint? Would they not be complicit in a lawsuit ??? Bet they would..Info is all on here.

They can't be complicit with any liability in something that is legal.

There is no law preventing the sale of e-bikes or dongles that are not legal to use in any public area.

Liability exists only with usage, not with supply or support for supply. For example, take the far bigger problem that mini-motos and the like have been nationally. Nothing is ever done about their sale or those who support their advertising and marketing, simply because those are entirely legal.

Just a thought for those that are so anti the message this forum supposedly supports, why not bugger off and set your own one up?

You can make your own rules and regulations up and decide who can or can't become members.

I can't speak for anyone other than myself when I say that I'm so bored of listening to your rants and raves and suppositions and "told you so's"

None of you will convince anyone of your arguments who doesn't want to be convinced.
In fact I'd go as far to suggest that most of your holier than thou arguments will make people even more determined to ignore you.

By all means ask questions, talk about bikes and trails and roads. Talk about motors, batteries, frames and all the things people come on this forum to get advice on and discuss but just stop banging on about dongles and S Pedelecs and forum owners and illegal bikes etc etc.

Nobody gives a stuff fellas. People will do what they want to do just like they have since Adam and Eve! If they want to buy something illegal then they will do no matter how much you lot keep banging on about it.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions but enough with trying to ram them down our throats....

So what if there bikes are illegal its there choice...not yours why don't you try and keep your opinions to yourself and try and enjoy the forums like the rest of us.
He's reminding people of what's at stake. And it's YOUR freedom to own and ride an e-bike, without paying lots of money to the government and climbing through loads of hoops.

And if this sheer stupidity continues, combined with a lack of any regulatory body now (I hear BEBA has disappeared with the insolvency of Wisper Bikes), like Flud said, it's just a matter of when, not if, the government adopts a regulate e-bikes policy. And if the UK does leave the EU this June, it could be even easier and happen very fast. Any excuse to make money or generate a stealth tax (and e-bikes is a great one) and the you can guarantee the government will be all over it.
