I plug the dongle in and open the Desktop stvp and can read the three main menus of the motor ok and the text at the bottom confirms there are no tool conflicts and the tool Red led turns Blue so that is all ok.
When I exit stvp and try java config in the extracted file in the STMicroelectronics file, I still have an error issue in the cmd box.

JAVA Runtime has installed, we don't need to worry about that.

I don't think you've extracted the files correctly Nealh, because it's looking in a subfolder with the same name as the main folder on C:

Go to where the folder where these files and folders are:

47006

Highlight all of those files and folders and right click - if you see an extract option, they need extracting to the first folder called:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C\

Because at the moment the configurator looking for files and folders and reporting the error in a subfolder:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C

Path looks ok. We need to extract the zip file into the correct folder.

Also, have you installed SDCC into the right folder? I you go to this folder and upload a pic of it's contents, we'd know:

C:\STMicroelectronics\

With PCs at some point "Sponge Point" happens, where no more can be absorbed... which is fine. All part of the fun.

Non of the Files or Folders have an extract option when right clicking.
The File, TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2.zip. I right click and extract in to the folder of the same name and the doubled up C: destination occurrs automatically.

If all the files have extracted into this folder:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C\

We can highlight all of the files and folders in that subfolder, and right click "Copy" and then go to this folder:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C\

Then click anywhere empty within that folder, then right click "Paste".

The files and folders should then be in the right place.

I don't have a folder of that name ?
What should be in it ?

I only have the folder of the same name ending in .1C.2 which the zip file auto extracts to.

Great! we don't need to worry about the SDCC either.

Do you see the zip down the middle of that last folder in that folder? If you click that, it will show you within that zip folder, but that doesn't mean anything has extracted. We don't need to extract anything in that particular folder, but it's worth mentioning, just in case.

I'm on the XP computer just now, and I downloaded different firmware zip files on XP and Win 7 computers.

Could you take a pic of the contents of the C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2 folder?

I have edited the folder names, they no longer are 1C.2 but now just 1C.
It's ok, change it back to 1C.2. They need to be that name for your chosen version of the firmware.

Then go to the folder called:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2\

..highlight all of the files and folders within that folder, and then go to:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2\

...and right click on an empty space within that folder, and right-click paste.

I have Windows 10 somewhere on a hard drive. I've never used it, just looked at it and put it away, What I'll do in a day or two is go through this whole thing and record it on my action camera and put it on Youtube, then you can follow the steps. It won't take long. But in the meantime, it's always worth continuing to sort this out.

On the other hand, I could completely screw it up and nothing will work whatsoever. ;)

When you upload a photo of the contents of this folder:

C:\TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1-20.1C.2\

...could you include the left side panel too?
