I'd like to see that. Any pics please? :)

I've got a couple of fork lights coming to see if that issue can be rectified 'off road'. They were ultra cheap, I'm not expecting miracles from them. However, 'on road', I was very happy with the performance of this new cree headlight. No-one flashed me and it did a good job of lighting the way and clearly showed my presence to other road users.

In the winter I use my hope ones fastened to the fork stanchions right at the top (being careful not to bottom out the forks) and find that although they are effective here they tend to create deep shadows over bumpy terrain. The brackets wont fit over the fork leg as these do, but at least they are off of the bars leaving room for a third light bar mounted.
I must say that on a foggy night the beams are quite impressive..

As I see it lights serve two purposes..
To light your way and to be seen by others, so however much or little these light your way they will definitely make you more visible.
I have a similar 3 lights configuration and am told that when in the woods I look like a flying saucer coming in to land..

I have several of those. You have to check that it says T6 LED and not Q5 because there's several versions. There's a velcro clip that you can find on Ebay for 99p. If you have two of them and set one to near and the other far, they light up the road quite well, though they can't match the 3000 lumen one on post#1. Their main advantage is that you can use them as a normal flashlight when not on the bike.

LP I've used and destroyed those DRL's not bright enough to see by, ok as an aid to being seen if you've plenty of batterys  I only got a few hrs use from the 4 button cells my two lights required. Connected directly to a single 18650 they ran for many hours but eventually the led's faded & went out one by one.
Just a passing thought :) these "cheap as chips" lights use AA batteries and as they suck every last drop of juice from the battery they even run on spent cells from other devices. I brought 5 for £1 last year and left them scattered around the home and garage so I'm never far from a emergency light ;)

Thanks Gringo. I was going to do a night video of them. But my 9 year old nephew just begged me to take him out for an evening bike ride. So I'm a bit 'drained' at the mo (excuse the pun). :p

He lost his mum to an unfortunate long term illness earlier in the year, she was only 28.

Consequently, I don't like to say no to him under the circumstances and anyhow, he's family.

His dad, my bro in law, works hard and drinks even harder, to cope no doubt.
