Some relatives of my partner recently held a Coronavirus party ! friends piled round and it carried on through the night. It's as though there are two separate forms of human being in existence, believers and non-believers, perhaps it should be against the law to be a virus denier.

The authorities are being stupid, they should re-read the fable of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" and let its meaning sink in.

The more they insistently repeat their irritating "Stay home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives" message and the more they bully the public, the more the public will get annoyed and ignore them. The latest nonsense is showing helicopter videos of people sunbathing in a park and criticising them, even though all but the couples were spaced out and well apart by far more than two metres. Clearly they didn't learn from the public's angry reaction to the Derbyshire police bullying.

If they are not careful with this idiotic bullying they will completely lose control and have large scale rebellion on their hands. They need to remember that there are 66 million people in the UK and only 147 thousand police officers, so policing has to be done by consent.

They will only get that consent by realising that every person's circumstances are different so the rules need flexibility for each to tailor them with separation to suit their own lives.

It's about the public's personal welfare, not the convenience of the police. In any case, police officers approaching individuals within 2 metres to enforce is moronic.

The public are largely capable of looking after their own safety without the police bullying or threatening their health by a close approach.

Indeed, they are already worrying about this. They need to realise that the public respond adversely to too much control, instead being perfectly capable of looking after themselves if given the minimum of information necessary.

Very quiet on the street on my limited ride round, something I found useful is to ride on the road rather than cyclepaths then you won't be faced with people walking as they do across the full width of both the cyclepath and footpath (usually engrossed in their facebook pages so not paying attention)
And of course there is hardly any vehicular traffic on the roads, at least round here.
Today's returns are that for the city of Hull there are 31 cases, fortunately no deaths as yet and for the East Riding there are 56 cases, no deaths reported this far.

According to the ONS Deaths…. Jan 2020 overall deaths in UK was 51158 of which 10703died of flu, Feb 2020, 44383 died of which 8235 died of flu and in March 2020 43375 died, of which 7370 died of flu.

The 5 year average death rate in March is 44459 and therefore March 2020 is below the 5 year average. All of the numbers for 2020 are below the average.

why dont we all go out side and clap for the government cuts to the nhs for the last ten years and the dwp having to close down half of the job centers.

and the dwp kill about 80k every 6 months waiting for benefits or sanctioned to death give them a clap to.

and dont forget the national debt going up 1 trillion in a month give that a clap your kids grand kids will still be paying it off if the earth lasts that long.

why should i give a crap im ok and not going to die the dwp tried to kill me and failed many more wont be so lucky as there to stupid to fight for there rights under law.

flu kills less than one in a thousand cases. CV kills 4.3% on average. 50 times more deadly. That's why a third of the world is paralysed.

my m8 Dave that lived in Iraq died from cv he had underlying health issues that meant he was short of breath because of running around all the time because of his key worker job in the field.

he did test positive for cr19 as was in his system at the time of death from the samples taken at the scene where he was found.

the sample of blood was taken of a out side wall that had been destroyed buy a cruise missile attack that day and as Dave was so knackered and over worked as a solder was unable to run away fast enough.

Dave did not die from the attack and had both his legs and arms blown off but died from cv19.

CV kills around 700 a day at the moment when there are fewer than 1 million carriers. When the number of carriers doubles to 2 millions, the death toll will double to 1,400 a day. When the number of carriers doubles again to 4 millions, CV will kill 3,000 a day. It can easily double that again, then again and again. There is no way the NHS can cope with 2 millions carriers leave alone 50 million carriers.

Agree with all of what you‘ve said flecc, would only comment that the ‘State’ seems determined to legislate or make rules to allow for the lowest common denominators in society, many of which are not capable of looking after their own safety, nor considering the safety of those around them. That does not mean police bullying is acceptable to those of us out exercising within guidelines.

our government has no other choice than imposing a lockdown because our ministers can't just isolate the carriers. They have no idea how many, who and where CV carriers are.
Instead of being pro-active, they keep their fingers crossed, make rousing speeches and promise ever bigger spending.

Yes, I think you have summed it up there, Soundwave. Our 'PM' standing there behind a lectern with 'Save the NHS' on it makes me want to throw up. They've done their best over the years to sell it off. For what it's worth, three close members of my family have died in the last three months of 'pneumonia'. With hindsight, and knowing what we know now, we survivors are all wondering just what it was......
