I am new to the forums, i had one of these in mind to buy as I had found them on the internet along with a few other makes, I see you have had a problem, have you sorted it yet.? how has it been since you have owned it, is this the first problem or. ! I am a bit concerned of the weight of battery on these, but I need a reliable bike, I like most only want to spend out once. It looks like Kudos havent replied to this thread I see a few posts and threads from them on here.?

I see Banbury has a bike shop, think I should visit that as its not that far from here.

Welcome to the forums, No I haven't fixed it yet, not the first problem though kudos has
supplied parts that went wrong during the warranty.
Its not under warranty any more so kudos wont have any legal obligation to fix it. The battery is still under warranty though. As they give you two years on them.
If you would like a more custom made bike, Frank at Xipi is a very helpful person and Looks to me to produce some good bikes and kits. I will be visiting him my self very soon. Good luck with what you go for.
I suggest you try loads and them make your mind up, there is no right or wrong way on bikes, just go with what feels right and customer service.

Zebb...I was waiting until you made direct contact with Kudos before responding to your problem. Although the bike is out of warranty that does not mean that we will not assist in sorting your problem,the problem may be something very simple.
Please advise Kudos of your problem.

There is also an excellent shop in Swindon, a little further away from you but well worth a visit as it has a very broad range of makes and an excellent reputation: E-Motion.

I have a Kudos tourer which is now 2 years old. The only problem I've had was the twist grip gear changer which Kudos replaced no problem. I actually received it through my door 18 hours after I spoke to them on the phone.
The bike is great as far as I'm concerned and if you look at a couple of recent posts of mine, you'll see the batteries haven't given me any problem. I even posted about doing 45 miles last week on 1 battery. 35 miles is my normal distance though in power level 5 and in the hills where I live.

I'm now considering another e-bike, a Kudos Ibex as I fancy trying crank drive. I'll still be keeping the Tourer though.

Thanks to those who have replied to me on this, I have decided to perhaps buy 2 bikes, one for more off road use and the other on road I think, maybe over the top but.! never mind. I am going away for a short time then I will seek them out, Zebb hope you get yours fixed. So looking forward to shopping.

Thanks Dave I have no idea what the problem is, though the only thing left to try is the control panel and wiring, though i have tested the wires continuity as much as possible. I have ordered a new panel and controller from china. If you have any other ideas why it just cuts out then please advise.

Check the multi pin plug to the BMS unplug and plug a number of times because I had the same problem with my Aurora and that cured it. I did all the other connection checks to controller and battery with no success. Hope this helps you John

Thanks for the reply, I have eliminated the battery from the problem. I am still getting power out of the battery at the time of the loss of power to the other components.

Zebb just a suggestion I ran my bike without the BMS connected have you tried this even though you think the battery supply is good. i thought the same but by chance I noticed the voltmeter I have on the bars did a quick loss of power then showed full power, lt's only a suggestion but maybe... Hope thing's are sorted soon.John

PS. if you run without BMS then you eliminate everything downstream from the battery except the key switch if you have one.

Thanks again for reply, the meter I had connected to the output would need resetting if power loss, which it didn't at the time of testing, though I understand a few milliseconds loss might not shut it down. But as the battery is still under warranty it would be unfair of me to tamper with it in anyway. That would be unfair to Kudos and the suppliers of the battery. But again I am very grateful to you for the help.

I have ordered some different parts, which work out cheaper than the kudos parts, which I will use on a other bike I have in mind if they are no good for fixing this problem.

Could you check that your clutch isn't stuck by spinning the wheel in both directions? It should spin freely forward and with some resistance backwards. The same both ways = stuck clutch.

The wire is heavy and the bits that they're soldered to are often solid metal, so a lot of heat is required to get a good joint. If done too quickly, the solder sits on the metal, but is only touching. It takes careful checking to find them. I've found one inside the battery on the main connector, one on the key-switch, two on the back of the pins that the battery slots on to, one on the main fuse, and one on the BMS.

Thanks for the reply, yep I totally agree, I have been through it all as much as possible, the main leads/key switch all been replaced with new ones, wires tested and checked all possible joints.
Could I have over looked something, yes. but been through it 3 times, volt meter on out put wires, all ok when fault happens, I am convinced its the panel or wiring somewhere.
