KKing problem

I did some tests today on a controller with the 4-wire LED panel. As I expected, you can bypass the panel if you suspect that it's faulty. On mine the four wires are:
Red = battery voltage
Black = ground (0v)
Blue = battery voltage when switched on, which powers the controller.
Green = signal wire with these values;

- PAS level 1 = 1v
- PAS level 2 = 2v
- PAS level 3 = 3v
- 6km button pressed = 4v

If you disconnect the panel and join the red and the blue wires, the controller works without it. The throttle works normally. PAS works at level one. You can get the other levels by using a 10K potentiometer with the outer two legs joined to the red and black throttle or PAS wires, and the middle one to the green signal wire on the 4-way panel connector. Turning the knob from zero goes through the three PAS levels, but you have to be careful not to turn the it too far, or you get the fixed 6km/hr.

Thank you very much for going to the trouble of posting that info, really I do appreciate the help you have given me.

I have now completely changed the Kudos into a different bike, nearly finished it now, I know
I have lost the warranty on the battery's but I have taken them out of the casing and refitted them in the triangle of the bike, I have completely rewired the bike and put new on a controller.
I now have a better balanced bike, no rear rack, If I damage the battery beyond repair I shall get a bottle battery.Although it doesn't at the moment look the best with a block,I will work on that bit.
But have really enjoyed changing it over and I hope it will be ok now.
I have done it so it can be put back very easy so no major surgery to do so.

Again I thank you for the help.

LOL, do you think that's a good idea. don't think kudos Dave will be too thrilled to see one of his
bikes now looking a bit different.

When its finished see how it looks then.

It goes well and handles loads better so on the right tracks so far.

Zebb...if it does what you want then I am pleased for you....the rear mounted battery seems to suit commuter style bikes but we all realised that the bike is better balanced on a mountain style bike with the battery mounted on the downtube. If you look at our latest performance style bikes the bottle style battery is mounted on the downtube,effectively what you have achieved.
All these ebikes are subject to design changes and there will be a natural evolution of improvements.
Hope your mods work out for you.
regards
KudosDave

I see you fitted a new controller was that the cause of the problem.
Still Don't know if it was the wiring or speed controller.

KDave, I am hoping the lifepo4 battery will last,its a gamble. doesnt look as good as the bottle battery
but, it does work well, biggest headache at the moment is storage, but working on that at moment.

was on about the look of the king you changed
Well to be honest, just spent the morning putting it back to standard.! LOL. I was out trying it and
I didn't like the look of the battery, worked so much better, but decided that I would wait until the battery
went south and then buy a bottle battery,I couldn't think of a easy way of hiding the battery so gave up.
I know about the triangle bags but that meant a load more money.

I did take a pic will up load it soon.

i was thinking about a bottle battery myself as the rear of the bike can bounce about a bit if i hit a bump , but mine is only a year old and only done about 1300 miles so hope still plenty life left in it yet

Thanks Good find, would prefer the higher 10.4 if possible though, but I guess its only 3 miles less distance. Based on my 30 miles I get now on a 10.4 amp.

Do you think these Samsung are a possibility to repair in the future.? hard to say i guess.!

All bottle batteries will be the same to repair. They're a lot harder than other types, but if you get genuine Samsung cells, they should be OK. Any likely problems would be with the BMS or wiring, which is easy. The one I did had the cheaper DLG cells.

At least there is a possibility, think its best as you have advised to get the samsung cells.Which I will.

Again thanks for the reply.
