My study consists of iMac, server and sonos. I'm selling all my old hifi / av stuff like b&w speakers, Yamaha A1 amp. Replaced with projector, screen, flat tv 65" and sonos home theatre. It's modern, neat and fine for me. Funny thing is the old speakers, amp sounded so much better, as the old plasma screen image was superior.

oh, i did keep my vinyl and linn sondek, which now sounds crap played through sonos play 5 via line jack grrrrr. Maybe i should keep the amp and two front speakers in a different room?

the sound card you have is crap if that is how you are doing it you will not get any good sound from any basic pc sound card.

i can run 44.1 96 and 192khz with my motu sound cards and my speakers are ex town house studio london

thats why it sounds naff as the deck is not line out put its phono so alot lower thus it sounds crap.

and keep the deck check the ebay prices

its a dragster motor in a caravan the spl goes so high you cant even breath lol.

its like 150db with 2 400w rms bass drivers shaking the house apart lol.

if you half the size of my room to say the inside of a car its like a gun being fired off every second.
