Edge 820 which i think is the latest version, but you can never keep up with these things

I just took it out and straight on the bike. How did you update it?

Definitely update it and your edge. Install Garmin express from Garmin website. Plug in your edge first, sync and it will update it. Then plug in your varia and there is an update for this too.

Always keep it up to date and check every month our so as some updates have important features / improvements.

Coming back from the beer shop tonight there was a cyclist aproaching in the oposite direction and the car headlights behind the bike illuminated and highlighted just how flimsy bicycles are in the heavy metal world of traffic

Yes windows for me but it showed as up to date anyway.. so no update was needed. If it's working done worry about it..

Mine worked straight out of the box so experience tells me to leave well alone.

For the edge I use the automatic wifi/Garmin Connect activity upload and it generally tells me when theres an update

Works with mac no issues. I used to be a big pc windows fan, having build about 5 pc's over the years, that hobby has left me and hence i wanted a pc that was simple to use, worked and doesn't get infected as often. Hence we have all macs in this house and so far fingers crossed no issues.

my rack server is near 10 years old and never turned off and never had a virus.

it has had its os drive replaced about 2 years ago.

it did cost 3.5k tho in parts at the time and replaced a power mac pro that cost 5k and never stopped overheating.
