My wife who is five foot two recently tried a Raleigh Motus step through and I was quite surprised that she felt really comfortable with it. Don't know what size frame but I had ridden the same one without any problems. So it may be worth a look . I thought it was a very nice bike
BTW that was at Juicybikes at Whaley Bridge so if you call there may be an opportunity to try it.

Thanks for the info. Going to Juicy Bikes soon!

Hi Lancslass,
Just to save you a wasted trip, all eZee stepthru frame bikes are out of stock.

We do have other brands with stepthru frames, the Ansmann FC1 Plus http://cyclezee.com/ansmann-fc1-plus.html and Heinzmann Ceres eST, but that model is probably to large and over your budget.
Thanks for letting me know, I would have phoned first anyway. I have a ceiling of about £1000 so am really intetested in the Ezee. When are you restocking please?

You'd be very welcome to come and try. We also have some steep hills to hand with some mid-drive Raleighs to compare.
We also have our 2016 bikes just in...
Going to drive over to you tomorrow if weather is as forecasted.

Sorry, I don't know when we will have more, possibly not until springtime.
You could have eZee power with a conversion kit but you would need a 'donor' bike.

Almost forgot, we do have the eZee Street 20'' compact that can climb any hill in the UK... or just about anywhere in the world as the following video shows

That bloke going uphill on it looks for all the world like Lance Armstrong. Was it him riding it up that hill in NZ?

This longer video shows that the rider isn't Lance Armstrong....but possibly his antipodean cousin

Great! But do take care - there is a reasonable chance of light snow and, even worse, we sometimes forget to bring milk for coffee. We open at 9.45am.

Juicy Bike, just out of interest.

Looking at your website, you make the following claim "Pick a battery to suit you – with a range of 30, 40, 50 or even 60 miles." Am I to take it, that you guarantee that the purchaser will get that exact range plus, from each of those battery options? It just seems a very bold and potentially chancy claim to make.

I dislike those claims "up to" with caveats and small print that are highly ambiguous and I believe received with incredulity, serving little useful purpose for a typical customer.

Because we retail as well as distribute the last thing we want in our shops on a busy Saturday is a disappointed customer, so we don't exaggerate claims about our bikes. That policy seems to have sustained us for the last six years.

I agree, and I like probably almost every end user hate the "up to" claim. It is just so vague and meaningless.

Please don't think that I was being critical or negative, it was just the first time that I have seen anyone make such a claim, and felt that it was very bold of you. If only more followed suit.

I can see the risk in it though, as shown below.

In the past I've drained the Bosch battery 400wh battery on my bike in 10.9 miles, using eco and tour on one continuous and extreme 10.9 mile climb with no let up, using eco and tour, with one brief blip into sport. The low mileage achieved, is of no fault or reflection upon the Bosch system, and I fully accept the fact that it was asking a hell of a lot from it. Don't worry though, I'm not offering to try it on juicy bike. :)

Ref Nelson/Baldwin Street, I recall seeing this some time back, and being pretty impressed by the guy. He had already ridden 15 miles in the rain, before doing this.

What's the word I'm looking for - impressed and humbled and ever so slightly envious...

As most of us on here know it's impossible to give any accurate figures for the range of an electric bike, there are just too many variables.

When average range is quoted, it should be achievable by Mr.or Mrs average over average terrain using an average level of assistance.

As yet I have not had a call, email or met Mr. or Mrs Average, so I am not able to give any precise figures.

As for Imran Mughal who rode unassisted up Baldwin Street, that is a truly amazing feat, clearly his range is unlimited.

HI Lancslass, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I was beginning to wonder if the rain would ever stop, I see you are having a trip out to Juicy, so wanted to wish you all the best and hope you find something you like.

The weather has finally eased and should be dry (but chilly) today and tomorrow, so I'm going to finally test the bike today going to Wigan, if for whatever reason you don't find a bike and would still like to look at the bear, I'm free tomorrow.

Thanks for getting back Andy. We are pretty sure the bear is going to be too big for both of us and now we have a plan to see some bikes over the next couple of weeks (Juicy today, Bolton Electric Bikes next week and the Electric bike shop in York in early December), I feel a bit more happy with the situation.
What I'm trying to say is if you want to do the run to Bolton you're welcome to come and show off your toy and have a warming cup of coffee on Sunday. We'd love to see it but if you have other places to go that's no problem.
I'll post later to tell the good folks here how we got on at Juicy.

Hopefully some of the snow in Newtown had melted enough to have a test ride. Buxton had about 2" so we're in a winter wonderland in these parts.

Had a test ride at Juicy's today and I think I am in love - not with 'buxom Bob', although he was terribly nice, but with the Juicy Classic!
Furthermore hubby rode with me on a rear hub driven Juicy Sport and whilst he had reservations about the style of the bike, he seems converted to a hub driven bike now, so double triumph.

After much advise and help from Bob and Lee, we had a quick ride around the car park then took off for a proper test ride riding up a steep hill near the shop. The bikes handled the hill with ease and I didn't touch the throttle other than as a start assist when setting off. In fact the bike rode the hill in third gear with my feet flying round the pedals feeling like I was hardly assisting at all. Such a relief to find that the bike more than surpassed expectations.
I also love the look of the bike and it feels very well put together. I love the battery capacities that Juicy has on offer, the brakes were very efficient and I felt instantly comfortable on the bike. Bob showed us a new 2016 colour which was a lovely metallic teal and being a Pedelec member means a good deal was promised by Bob, who is now my second favourite man (sorry Bob, my lovely husband wins out every time).

I am going to force myself to test ride a couple of other bikes but I feel pretty sure that the Juicy will be hard to beat (it's nearby for aftercare, a great bike for the money, it's good value and from the forum I know that Juicy have a good reputation).

Thanks for your time and patience Bob and Lee, it was lovely to meet you.
I will make sure I keep you guys on the forum, who have helped so much, updated with what we decide to do.

NB: The term 'buxom Bob' is not a reference to his stature, but to a previous thread which involved a typo when describing Bob as the guy from Buxton!

Lancslass...now I realise the area of UK you live in....we did a road show event on the Manifold Trail some while back, based around the little tea rooms in the middles of the trail.
You could consider contacting Leek Cycle solutions ,Leek,ST13 5HJ....the Tornado will suit your husband now that he accepts hub drive.
Alternatively,Oxygen Electric Bikes ,Goldthorpe,South Yorks,S63 9BL make some strong hill climbers,worth trying.
