I live in a private unmade road and have the standard front forks on my designer cool Mercedes Smart eBike, anyway I found some original shock absorber front forks for the Smart eBike that they put on their limited edition Black version, so I thought that would smooth out a few lumps so bought them http://www.ebay.de/itm/Original-smart-ebike-Federgabel-schwarz-silber-Aluminium-B67993074-/181502520991?hash=item2a4264ae9f:g:fRIAAOxyBvZTRmH5

I'm just concerned that when these arrive and I get them fitted at the Mercedes garage that my bike will look so cool and stunning, even more women will stop me to ask if I'm married, seems the bike is a babe magnet or it could be me in my lycra

Have I done the right thing, are suspension front forks worth having, or a just a load of nonsense? They seemed very cheap compared to some I have seen on the world wide web.

yes but not on ur bike tbh u just making the bike more heavy and there rubbish forks anyway.

thats the problem with that bike as u will be limited to what u can add to it.

u just dont want to listen tbh the bike is rubbish spec wise why make it worse?

The forks are genuine designer Mercedes Smart eBike forks being sold by a main Mercedes dealer in Germany. I actually wanted a unique Black edition Mercedes Smart eBike but was told there were none left, they came with the suspension forks and a rack, I don't need a rack but would have just taken that off, but now I have found some forks I decided to just get them as they were obviously specially chosen for use with this superb designer bike by the Mercedes Smart eBike specialist cycle technicians.

So yes, fully risk assessed.

I won't be adding anything else, the style is sleek lines and minimalistic clean looks, the front suspension forks do however add to the sleekness and performance of this stunning machine.

Unless you can fit it yourself, you are going to be fleeced to get it fitted.
Not worth throwing that much good money after bad.
Spend £50 on a good suspension seat post like the Suntour NCX.

I can certainly vouch for the Suntour NCX suspension seat post.

It is too late now as you have already bought the forks, but the suspension forks certainly spoil the previously clean lines of the bike. As has already been said, a suspension seat post would have been the way to go.

I suspect that Rob is also right in respect of the probability of you being fleeced by MB when you go to get them fitted. I still can't get my head around car dealers selling bikes of any description, and would have zero faith in them being trained and knowledgably cycle technicians. To me, cycle shops are for bike sales and after care, not a car dealership.

I find the rear suspension on my Delite works much more than the front on normal road use.

As Wingreen says, the recommended suspension seat post is the way to go if comfort is what your after.

If it's just to impress the stunning ladies that lust after you, the Mercedes prices for fitting your eBay purchase will be well worth it.
