Finally got the chance to pop out this evening for a 25 miles ride.

Certainly a lovely evening for it, and I even found the time to pick some wild raspberries.

Sometimes you just have to admit defeat.

The South Downs are about 18 miles away, and looked stunning this evening. Sadly I only had the point and shoot with me, and it hasn't really captured the moment.

went to the forest today at last minute but never even got 1 batt used as mate got 2 flats with his tubes then broke a spoke on his back wheel pmsl.

there is a free air compressor but its broken atm so take a pump just in case ;)

will post the vids in sclass as had my dongle but makes no difference up there tbh can floor it on the flat but will hit a unseen root or stump and go flying.

also had near full psi in my front rear shocks did not help lol.

I like the blue trails the best.
Melted Welly is probably my favourite, but a close second is Sixtapod.
Terry's Belly is the other blue trail, it is quite long though.

The blues are like most trail centre reds to be honest, but they are very fast with very little in the way of climbing.

The reds are a little bit of a mixed bag.
They are similar to the blues in the main but more technical with a few rock steps. Some of the rock steps are a bit difficult.
Bonneville was the hardest in my opinion, Hot stepper is good, but has one or two rock steps bordering on the difficult.

The guide notes on the trail description provided on the BPW site is pretty accurate though.

My advice would be to try the blues first, to get used to the speed of the descents first.

All good fun, I always climb up now, having the ebike the climb is quite good.

res.jpg top.jpg bog.jpg down.jpg Yesterday did a trip to the top of the Black Mountains. Maxed out at 714m. The first 3 miles were a steady incline to the Grwyne Fawr Reservoir. Change of terrain after was like a specialist trial section for 2.5 miles. Big rocks and small boulders to negotiate. Very technical. Very tough. The top was stunning, cycling 3.5 miles along a peat track with some interesting drops and features. Mtb heaven. Steep drop down to the forest and back to the car park. 12 mile round trip.

Middle of summer and its ankle deep, welcome to Wales.

Anything with a dog gets a like from me.

Would you have even thought of this before the ebikes?

Good looking bikes, well done.

Hi Steven

As a Fife-based ebiker I'm very interested in your route from the Pillars of Hercules to Loch Leven. May I ask if you cycled a return route via the back road to Balgeddie Toll and if so what the distance was? The Loch Leven trail is one of my regular rides and the idea of extending it certainly appeals.

Thanks IR772. I would have struggled to have done this route 35 years ago on a mountain bike. What's available to cycle with these bikes is incredible. Looking at the Brecon Beacons now...

Got to say, some proper scenery and terrain and these bikes become an entirely different animal.
Ive been added details of my rides in the reviews section of the forum and I imagine this is a better place!

Yesterday 20.4 mile, 3,239feet climbing fun all the way! Started to actually look forward to testing bike on climbs as much as I do descending them!

Nice one Lee. :) Good to see distance and elevation gain listed as well. That is a good bit of gain there given the distance. Back in the UK I'd often have to add probably another 10-15 miles to that to match it.
Yeah Yorkshire has vast offerings of hills something that can be good and bad! Its nice to have a vast array of riding so nearby, That ride went around and over the Holme Moss climb (Which ive done on the road bike Cat2 climb 2.9 mile 1,120ft gain a few times, Almost every effort its ruined me. First time was a third way into a 65 mile and it really hurt!)

Got a ride planned for Saturday in Derbyshire (Near Ladybower Reservoir) to test on some more rocky terrain
