Zebrafish protein unlocks dormant genes for heart repair
"Researchers from the Bakkers group at the Hubrecht Institute have successfully repaired damaged mouse hearts using a protein from zebrafish. They discovered that the protein Hmga1 plays a key role in heart regeneration in zebrafish. In mice, this protein was able to restore the heart by activating dormant repair genes without causing side effects, such as heart enlargement."
"“The results were remarkable: the Hmga1 protein stimulated heart muscle cells to divide and grow, significantly improving heart function”, says Bakkers."

How to Hit Peak Fitness After 40
You can’t train in middle age like you did in your 20s. But if you’re strategic, your best days can still be ahead.

I'm using my knowledge of the origin of diseases especially 'flu. I learned this stuff from textbooks not random nut jobs on YouTube. None of these respiratory viruses will wipe out humans. Even SARS only had death rate of 11%. MERS which didn't arise in China has a death rate of up to 35% but still not 100%. Even Ebola has a mortality of 25-90%. None of them completely destroy the human race.

To quote from that news report:-
Its latest assessment points the finger a China even while acknowledging it has "low confidence" in its own conclusion, noting in its statement both scenarios - lab and natural origin - remain plausible.
The agency's assessment assigns a low degree of confidence to this conclusion, suggesting the evidence is deficient, inconclusive or contradictory.
The findings are not based on new evidence, but fresh analysis of intelligence about the spread of the virus, its scientific properties and the work and conditions of China's virology labs.
Publishing this assessment now with no new evidence looks like the CIA telling the new masters what they want to hear.

The last scientific assessment I saw on this was the BMJ review , published a few months ago https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9420317/ which considered the evidence for the two alternative theories.

Of course the reason that evidence is lacking is that Chinese government has systematically prevented proper investigation so that only circumstantial evidence is available. Right from January 2020 they shut down access, including suddenly hiding the genetic database of virus samples held by the WIV in Wuhan. Previously, virologists world wide had access. then it suddenly vanished. Chinese government is VERY focused on reputation and face. My view is that from their point of view, it can not be seen that mishandling of research occurred.

If this was a natural development of a virus that transferred species, certain things would certainly be seen:

  • there would be animal host populations of very near identical viruses rapidly found
  • the emerging virus would at first find it difficult to transfer between individuals of the new target species, until it further mutated after a period of circulation in the new host population
  • there would be genetic variation in the virus when it emerged in the new hosts as is normal

None of the above happened. The nearest virus that has ever been found is RaTG13 which the Wuhan lab had and still holds. It is 96% the same as Sars-Cov-2, but that is still way off and too big a jump to suddenly turn into Sars-Cov-2 inside a bat or a civet or anything else. It is many mutations away, which is why we KNOW that WIV and Professor Sheng's team re-engineered it.

Shengs's team applied for grants to Eco Health Alliance in America to do 'gain of function research' on bat corona viruses. That means they were genetically engineering bat viruses at Wuhan to see how far they were from infecting human tissue.

The grant application made around 2017 specifically talks about the process of using a technique called 'serial passage' using humanised mice to walk the virus through mutation steps to be able to infect human tissue. It also talks about infection of the ACE2 receptor and use of furin clevage in that receptor to aid infection. THESE FEATURES ARE FEATURES OF Sars-Cov-2.

Other bat coriona viruses do not have such features.

The new plague burst out, perfectly adapted to human ACE2 infection in the late part of 2019 , a handful of kilometres from that lab.

It's slam dunk unless you have a vested interest in hiding what happened. Part of the problem is that virologists world wide do this kind of research and they don't want it banned, so useful fools in the west muddy the waters by ignoring the obvious. To face up to it and the potential species ending risk would lead to a world wide ban on this kind of work.

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that much of the work at the WIV was conducted at a low level of bio security. BSL2 and not what should happen with dangerous virus work (BSL4). The levels employed for some of the work consisted of aprons and masks and rubber gloves. It is VERY easy in such conditions for a research worker to get infected.
