I disagreed for three reasons.

Regenerative braking is far smoother and more gently progressive than manual braking.

Acceleration through an EV's single gear is constantly progressive so far smoother than the multiple power on/off applications via 5 gears manual or up to 8 gears automatic.

How much one can apply an EV's superior torque acceleration is controlled by the other 40 million drivers. Any car's 0 - 62mph time is that of the slowest vehicle in front.

I am more than likely going at a steady 60 and, despite having rushed past, they are typically at most a couple of vehicles ahead by the next roundabout, junction, whatever. Much non-regen braking must have been required as I can't see even the best regen being able to absorb energy at that rate.

I see Johnson has been forced into a corner:

I have written to the Commons Speaker to propose: 1) The Code of Conduct for MPs is updated 2) MPs who are prioritising outside interests over their constituents are investigated and appropriately punished 3) MPs are banned from acting as paid political consultants or lobbyists

Agreed, there will always be idiots of course, but that's very untypical of most e-car drivers. Don't forget that until a few months ago the big selling e-cars were the Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe. Most Tesla drivers are still very new on the scene since the more affordable Model 3 arrived. They'll learn when they see what that does to their range and when the newness of their insane acceleration experience wears off.

And of course in your neck of the woods there's more road space for them to play with. 86% of us live in urban areas where such antics are mostly impractical. Within weeks of buying mine I'd selected Eco mode which cuts the embarrassing power by 40%. In the near 4 years since I've only switched back to full power for one trip to Dorset and back, and even that wasn't necessary since Eco only cuts the acceleration, not cruising speeds.

Most Tesla drivers are still very new on the scene since the more affordable Model 3 arrived. They'll learn when they see what that does to their range.

Yes - much less busy. And much hillier and windier.

A lot of the time, I just let cruise control accelerate - which ends up much less aggressive than foot to floor, but acceptably brisk. Even within that, I often put it onto economy setting which has an impact on fuel consumption but not much noticeable difference to performance.

Had a booster today - Pfizer after original two AZ. No effects so far.

But I couldn't see anything on the Patient Information Leaflet about it being used as a booster having had a different vaccine originally. I think I'm fairly well aware, so it doesn't really make any difference. Simply, I expected it to be stated, otherwise it implies its use as a booster is off-label. (Yes, looked at the SPC as well.)

The PIL refers to "... the 2-dose vaccination course of Comirnaty ..."

That is why I though a link was best. But I wouldn't be surprised if something happens to trip you up there.

No.

If the generator is running and supplying the battery while driving, since the two currents cannot be separated it's a hybrid ic car in law so the use of red diesel is illegal.

Nor can you run the generator when parked, since unnecessarily running an engine when stationary so creating pollution is an offence in law under Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

Well, yes, but even then you're converting circa 70% of the energy in your fuel directly into atmospheric heat and friction instead of kinetic energy. It's much more wasteful than an ev driven hard. If I were in a position in which a car was a discretionary purchase, I'd still swap the ice for something like an old leaf if I could live with 70 mile range

I waited years to 2018 for the third generation 160 mile range Leaf, since I needed to occasionally drive to my brother in Dorset and a sister in Suffolk. Since then that sister moved to Bulgaria and my brother passed away so now I've no need for any sort of long range.

We Buy Any Car have offered £14,000 for mine and I can get a sound old Leaf for under £6000, so temptation is there. Certainly if I needed that £8000 I wouldn't hesitate, but I dont need it so I'll probably stay with the current Leaf which should see me out as my last ever car.

Yes I did a lot of research before buying an ev - the most critical online review one can find of the original leaf with its air cooled battery (most ev's now are liquid cooled) is of one used as a taxi and fast charged four times a day for many years and 120k miles before needing a single £900 battery module..and theres very little else that can go wrong on it

You may recall that I made a few comments about my jaws getting very tired with walking ...not talking ! ,And thinking it might be heart related. This was a few weeks ago. Well yesterday morning I had a standard workup scheduled... Bloods, ECG Echogram, stress test , meet the consultant for pat on back....To say it went badly is an understatement.
The nurse prevaricated putting me on the stress test, after I was all wired up, saying the bloods hadn't been done. It seemed fishy. Then the Charge nurse insisted I not leave the premises, because of a blood enzyme and had to be immediately admitted. So I waited all afternoon for an angiogram, which resulted in a 2 hours in theatre. .. Angiogram are usually 20 minutes plus.... Bluntly one of the set of 3 stents fitted a year ago had totally clogged, and It was only the perfusion from another 3 stents in the other artery working perfectly which was keeping the show on the road. So a Dynarod job done , I am home now....
