And they recorded a stubborn 10% increase in road accident afterwards.

It supported my long held belief that the right side of the road is the wrong side.

It's why we have the lowest road death rate in the world, there is a reason why driving on the left is safer.

What did the Romans ever do for us?

Introduce driving on the left. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if it worries me at least as much as the scientists.
Leave it to the population. After a night out in pub or club, they'll still go for a curry as usual, with not a thought about Covid.

Thinks, will the Covid-19 virus survive a British vindaloo or phaal curry?

I hope this is good news:

Wales will have completed the move to Alert Level 3 by 3 May.
Possibly for the reopened establishments, but as usual the public are likely to read it as an end to lockdown. That at least will test if it really is safer now with less precautions all round.

Spread of the India variant to here is clearly a worry for us.

And the situation in India a very big issue for them. I was surprised looking at the stats per million that India is not that high. Below Italy, France and Germany for deaths, and below Sweden and France for cases; though almost certainly significant under-reporting in India

The India stats are still on a very significant up slope. Meanwhile the really terrible thing is not high numbers, but the fact that they don't have the proper infrastructure to deal with the numbers they have.

When will we have the big book burning?
Funny how every MP and every civil servant is working 12-hour shifts every day because to the pandemic. So they can't have a public inquiry (of whatever sort).

Yet, JMR somehow has plenty of time to become a board member of the NPG.

Suspect this might be future, definitely for Ice and probably for our transport needs.??
Conversion kits for existing Ice?
Still has the sound, vibration and feel of racing engines, ie soul...
Drove in a very fast Tesla last week. Incredible performance but somehow detached and uninvolving.
Listen to hydrogen car... Can't tell its hydrogen. Agreed its not a Renault V10 but fact is it could be. This is what F1 should have gone. Hybrid biggest con in automotive history.

If the scandals listed in the article linked below were contained in a fictitious political thriller people would just laugh and say its so removed from reality it's not worth reading. The sad fact is, lots of people just don't care about what BJ and his conspirators in the cabinet get up to.

It looks like they are going to do well in next weeks elections, there is a saying something along the lines that people get the governments they deserve. What have we done to deserve a PM like Boris?

Afraid, I'm not convinced.

If you could set up a solar collection/hydrogen refuelling system at home, that might help. (As it would for the Mirai.)

I can see it for big, heavy vehicles - tractors, bulldozers, etc.

The Mirai system, if it ever proves itself in real-world use, has the advantage of not requiring heavy batteries. But electric vehicles have so many advantages - whether fuel cell or battery. I certainly don't want the noise of ICE. Whether engines or music!

hydrogen ICE does not have the energy density of regular oil because it needs a high pressure container. If a short term solution is needed to extend the viability of ICE, I would go for cleaner fuel and carbon capture and sequestration.

I couldn't put my finger on figures, but I suspect the fuel storage is exacerbated in ICE as they will surely be less efficient than fuel-cell, hence need more fuel (as in mpg).

But Toyota are going to have to do something as hybrids are getting progressively more and more questionable.

The aircraft situation is one where hydrogen can work very well. Short duration, known distances , high energy requirements , would allow cryogenic storage and tanks. .. So the weight need not be a concern. Even the high altitude works in its favour.

They already having, but doing it under the cover of their Lexus brand. The pure electric battery Lexus is the one they advertise now, so finally beginning to admit defeat on the silliness of hybrid of any kind.
