Please explain both why I am being ridiculous and exactly what principle prevents vaccine production being scaled up and quickly
we have a free market economy.
If governments decide to build publicly owned vaccine factories, then I am all for it but until then, we have to accept the consequences of worldwide integrated supply chain and free market.
As for our government's ability to build anything, just look at HS2 and test and trace.

Here I am talking about the Brexit deal, It has. The United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in 2016 and officially left the trading bloc - its nearest and important trading partner - on 31 January 2020. The deal contains new rules for how the United Kingdom and European Union will live, work, and trade together. While the United Kingdom was in the European Union, companies could buy and sell goods across European Union borders without paying taxes and there was no control on the number of things that could be traded.

I wasn't primarily talking about our government, they certainly haven't done a bad job so far with supply and certainly did things it's EU counterparts didn't. They placed orders for over 400 million doses, almost a 4 fold increase over population. That certainly wasn't replicated accross EU. They funded new production facilities in Stockton and Barnard Castle almost a year before Germany did similar.
I was replying to Danidl over his claim I was being ridiculous for saying production could have been ramped up more months ago. The Biden administration is now ramping up production because Trump didn't. What excuse does EU have for delay.

Thank you for confirming what I've long been suspecting, Zlatan and Suzan are one and the same person.

when my GP's practice called me, I asked 'can I choose Pfizer?' - their answer is no.
so it seems to be a lottery here.
One downside of the Pfizer in UK is that there seems to be a pretty extended delay for the second jab. Several people I know are have had second AZ jabs, even though the manufacturer specified in-between time is longer. I don't know anyone who has had second Pfizer jab, even though the first was administered before several people's first AZ jab. ... We'll see how it pans out, still not nearing the governments arbitrary 12 weeks.

Hindsight is more than 20/20 in this case. And Susan and yourself are practicing it now...if indeed she is not a more thoughtful version of yourself. At every stage you choose to ignore the fact that the majority of the vaccine manufacturing in the Western world is still located within the EU. Unfortunately Not all the technology for making the piece parts is there , the USA, , China, Taiwan, Japan manufacture the chips, the micromachines, even the plastic and stainless steel tubing, the vacuum pumps, the reagents. .. And remember nobody knew which reagents would be the ones needed in the successful candidates. You cannot manufacture everything, otherwise you complete nothing. There are plenty of engineering management books on the "Learning Curve" .. perhaps you might read one.

If I was your GP I would have thrown you out of a first floor surgery window you ridiculous man. What an absolutely stupid question to be asking in the middle of a pandemic.

Take the Oxford vaccine and think yourself lucky you aren’t living on the continent.

Zlatan's reply to Woosh who quoted a post made by Suzan:

Extract from a post by Suzan replying to Danidl:

"Why you have to resort to my being ridiculous, I have no idea.
Please explain both why I am being ridiculous and exactly what principle prevents vaccine production being scaled up and quickly."

Post from Zlatan with propaganda wrongly spelt as always:

"You can't let truth get in way of good propoganda Danidl."

Post from Suzan with that and also "tho..." another Zlatan characteristic:

"Some more anti EU propoganda.. In Euronews tho"...???"

Meanwhile in the real world the vaccine is being rubbished.
Just think on, how many of us could be in that 6000.

Like Suzan mentioned, that's now happened 3 times. Was mid argument with Woosh 2 weeks ago and swapped.. (later deleted so you won't find it flecc)
To be fair you realised a while ago.. OG and Agnew had no idea...

Only 1 in 1500 of the 9.02 millions of our over 70s, inconsequential.
.
Unless you are one of them. Death is quite a large consequence.
And how come that is inconsequential but the 1 in 300,000 deaths from blood clots isn't? (and that's in the sausage eaters, UK figure is way less, one in 2 million?? Which prompts posters on here to ask for a different vaccine?)

1 in 1500 is inconsequential since the range of things that can and do end the life of over 70s is so vast that an added one scarcely counts.

Which prompts posters on here to ask for a different vaccine?)
Avoiding a known possibility if one can, however miniscule the risk is, is still a sensible and rational action.

zlatan, you seem to ignore the scientific reason for Germany to suspend AZ for women under 60.
The blood clot phenomenon albeit rare, still run more than 9 times the expected average and at the same time low platelet count.
This (blood clot & low platelet count) remains a mystery. That's why it is still an important risk.
When they find out the interaction between the AZ vaccine and the blood chemistry of the victims, the ban will go or be reduced.
The thing that worries me is why UK only found two. Perhaps we don't want to know.
That reminds me of the BSE saga. Our minister gave to his daughter a hamburger on TV. Only months later, 4.5 million cows got incinerated.
