I have a suspicion that the Wisconsin country can whistle for their recount fee. It will be a question of hard cheese.
I have a memory (could be a wrong one?) that at least one state required the recount fee in advance.

Just why?

We can't marry:

5. Weddings, civil partnerships, and funerals
Weddings and civil partnership ceremonies will not be permitted to take place except where one of those getting married is seriously ill and not expected to recover (‘deathbed wedding’). These weddings are limited to 6 people.

But they are pitching up from around the globe, further burdening the legal system, in order to un-marry:

Most expensive family feud in history to take the stage at London court

Seems a touch less than ideal.

It would be funny if it wasn't tragic

So all our futures are suddenly dependent on a expenses scandal hit multi-millionaire Tory MP who once claimed 10p for a glue stick. What could possibly go wrong...?

How could anyone in their right mind have voted this Flying Circus of corrupt half wits into power?
His horses are warm though with the heating system he has installed using our money.

Thank goodness some companies are doing reasonably well:
(Reuters) - British recruiting firm SThree Plc on Monday projected annual profit to be slightly above market expectations on improved hiring in the United States and Germany, with a high demand for professionals in life sciences and technology.

Seems they said they would repay all furlough claimed from the government. Which is good.

But what have we here? A vaccine co-ordinator with a financial interest in a life sciences recruiting company?

And please note that his vaccine co-ordination will be on top of his existing duties. Does this mean he was twiddling his thumbs? Or that vaccine co-ordination is something he can fit in between representing his constituents, acting as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and worrying about his company (assets around 40 million) - though he did resign as director in 2018.

Ouch, this is going to hurt!
Trump's legal team paid $3millions for a recount that increased Biden's win.
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania threw out their challenge.
Trump's last throw of the dice is trying to subvert GOP controlled state legislatures so that they override their local popular votes. I don't think it's going to work.

Remember this was the charming woman who spent months hounding 22-year-old Darren Grimes, hoping to extort some kind of 'confession' from him under threat of a jail sentence.

Completely batty, but nothing will shift some Remainers' conspiracy theories and delusional self-righteousness.
Hopefully Mr Banks now takes her for everything she has, she's no Journalist, a penny hack rumourmonger who has been caught again spreading bullcrap on behalf of the EU.
The only thing that does surprise me is why Verhofstadt hasn't chipped in to help her crowdfund,

Rumour has it Banks is forwarding the dosh on to the Reform UK party :D :D (cheers Arron!!)

Oh how amusing

Yep, what part of that didn`t you understand??
Fareed said Trump damages democracy in America with his loony schemes.
Trump tries asking GOP controlled state legislature to nominate pro-Trump electors who will vote for Trump instead of the popular winner in their states.
They are usually called 'faithless' because they don't respect their oath to vote for the winner in their states. Trump will need at least 37 faithless electors for his scheme.
This plan is very difficult to achieve. Trump will need to subvert at least Wisconsin, Georgia and Philadelphia where Biden has won. Electors are split 50/50 between Reps and Dems. Even if Trump could turn those state legislatures, finding 37 Dems electors going back on their oath and voting against Biden is nigh impossible. It has never been done before in a single state leave alone all three at once. No wonder that even GOP members think that is lunatic.
The way Trump is trying to reverse the votes will cause his followers not to trust any elections and won't bother to vote in the future. That's the surest way to lose the two GOP senate seats in Georgia after the new year.

It might if we had any idea to what it refers and when . There have been so many appeals and resubmissions it is impossible to keep track of .. so please . Name of Judges, topic and DATE
I've been telling you what Trump's up to for weeks, but you're so full of derangement that you haven't taken any notice. This is what I was referring to when I said that Trump rustles tin-foil to distract from what he's doing. Most of what he does is just to keep all his opents occupied fighting the wrong battles.

And the result is...he took his eye off the ball and lost the election. Like I said previously he applied for a job he already had and was turned down, must be a first.

Nigel Farage may have to wait for any money.
Hearing will continue next year.
As I said before , Banks may not want his business to be discussed in Court.

Statement on libel claim against Carole Cadwalladr | Bindmans LLP (en)

In December last year, the Judge made a decision about the single meaning of her statement about Arron Banks. In light of that judgment, Banks withdrew a significant part of his claim. Following clarification of the judgment in relation to the one remaining allegation, Carole has now withdrawn her truth defence, but, contrary to some reporting, has not made any admissions and stands by her public interest reporting.

She will continue to defend the claim and we anticipate that the case will be heard at trial next year.
https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/support-me-against-arron-banks/

Last month, I [Carole] announced that Banks has dropped two of the four claims against me. But he continues with the other two - he claims that I libelled him in my TED talk and a follow-up tweet. Last Friday, my legal team filed our defence. This is required by court and it sets all the reasons why we believe that I was justified to say the things that I did.

We're defending his claim on three grounds: 1) Limitation. I levelled the same accusations against Banks in the Guardian, on the BBC, and on Twitter more than a year earlier. He never took action against me or the BBC or Guardian then or made any attempt to correct the record, and libel cases time out after a year so he's out of time. 2) Truth. What I said was true and we can prove it. 3) Public interest. This is a subject of profound public interest and as such my right to responsibly report on these issues is protected speech.

Our documents have been filed with the court and can be obtained by journalists via the Royal Courts of Justice office.
