Government plans for Portaloos post-Brexit

Not sure how this cunning plan will work infection control wise mid-pandemic....

The government says it has plans to install portable toilets at the side of roads if lorry drivers get caught in long queues after the Brexit transition period.

Transport Minister Rachel Maclean said "detailed plans" for Portaloos and other facilities have been "worked up".

She said the plans were "not only [for] Kent" but "should it become necessary, should there be stationary traffic, also in a range of other areas throughout the country".

Perhaps the fines should be £10,000 for each and every person?

After all, simply by attending they are in their own way contributing to organising the event and wantonly breaking the law.

No..those numbers are unimaginable , 500 quid is real and tangible. ..and the Compulsory CV19 test is corporal punishment enough ..having had 3 to-date I can attest to that .

Southall is a predominantly Asian area and I have no doubt the wedding attracting some 100 guests was an Asian one, that being both normal and important in their cultures. This is playing out as I suspected and feared it might. Look at euro sterling rates on Monday for confirmation of the real situation.There will be short term speculative gains to be made.. The EU will stay in contact until the bitter end, and then beyond. They will not walk away. If we have a January of discontent in the UK , with the anticipated levels of shortages, the EU will be patiently waiting for the call in February. If not February then March...

These negotiations will continue for years, there is no reason why anyone will want to walk away.
The UK side is to keep the fish. Maybe the compromise is to allow UK boat owners to sell their quotas to EU's fishermen after the transition period.
After we agree on fish, the UK will have to concede on state aids.
Now what is more important? Fish or state aids?

Fine flecc, but attending Mass and especially funerals is more than merely normal in Ireland..We probably do funerals and death better than anywhere else ,and weekly Mass has been a staple of Irish life for 1500 years. . Daily mass is a constant comfort to OAPs. Yet we have forgone these since March.. There are thousands of families who were unable to bury their relatives over the last number of months.

I've worked with and I play cricket with Asians inc. Indian, Pakistani , Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Afghans and enjoy sharing having a good ol' knees up at their social events - Ladies esp at formal functions dress quite traditionally.

There are still practical details regarding lorries, insurance, bank accounts, data transfer and sharing, energy, radioactive materials, justice, visas and permits, EHIC etc to talk about and sort out for years to come.
I feel sorry for around 1.5 millions Brits who live in the EU. Many voted for brexit because then, they were sold a completely different brexit.

I cannot speak for 1.5 million , but the few I do know , and living in France did not vote Brexit.
However I cannot see the EU willing to make any agreements with the UK, except very minor technical ones while the WA remains unclear. Do not underestimate the lack of trust involved
