Involuntary suicide pilots, that's what the elderly are perceived as .

Under a new government edict Care Home residents will all receive a white headband with a small Union Jack on the front and a small glass of sake on their last day
Carers will shout "Banzai!" three times for them at the moment of passing.

For a modest fee Family members will be able to claim back a cardboard box containing their ashes, wrapped in the headband and printed on the side will be the Motto
"Took one for the team like Boris"
This insanity has to come to an end

Or you can opt for the Delux service, which costs slightly more, but you can witness the cremation on FaceTime.

We can only partially blame the government. The public are generally behaving like children.

The principal is simple to understand. The more contact you have with other people, particularly indoors, the greater the chances you will get Coronavirus. That’s it, no negotiation.

However, people are constantly trying to find loopholes and excuses to allow themselves in danger.

It is always the boss. The (so-called) leaders. It is never the bottom-rung underlings. Because if it were those underlings, it was the boss who allowed them to be employed, let them disregard rules, did not require them to behave properly.

A hospital which was forced to stop accepting emergency admissions in July after a Covid outbreak traced back to a physical training session described by a doctor as a “super-spreading event”, has been rated inadequate by the care regulator.
The Guardian revealed in July that the A&E closure at Hillingdon hospital, in Boris Johnson’s constituency, was, according to an inquiry, caused by nurses not wearing face masks or staying 2 metres apart at a training session on 30 June, where a nurse with coronavirus unwittingly infected 16 others.
In an internal email, the hospital’s chief executive, Sarah Tedford, blamed staff for the outbreak despite being pictured herself without a face mask while at the hospital, the Guardian also revealed.
On 17 August, Tedford announced she was resigning, citing “family reasons”.
Today, the Care Quality Commission said that its inspectors visited the hospital at the beginning of August and rated it inadequate overall. The areas where it was found to be inadequate were specifically safety and leadership respectively.
It ordered the hospital to improve infection prevention for medical staff, monitor and ensure that they all wear PPE correctly at all times and ensure patients were socially distanced while queuing for assessment at the urgent treatment centre.

28 days! Why that's a whole month...
Australian scientists have found that the virus that causes Covid-19 can survive for up to 28 days on surfaces such as the glass on mobile phones, stainless steel, vinyl and paper banknotes.
The national science agency, the CSIRO, said the research undertaken at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong also found that Sars-CoV-2 survived longer at lower temperatures.

Which might help explain the number of cases in food preparation facilities.

With respect, I have been saying that for months. I will not buy lettuces in supermarkets, so we went to grow our own.

The affects of stupidity in the north spreading into the south. Congratulations.
The Government has been based in the North for how long?
That is where the stupidity originated
With them and the people who voted them in!
Congratulations yourself
Remember who started the process that led to where we are today

Fascinating
So the Cambridge Analytica group we guilt free were they and Russia not in the picture?

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/oct/11/the-observer-view-on-the-information-commissioners-cambridge-analytica-investigation
"
One report claimed that the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) had “[dispelled] many of the accusations put forward by whistleblowers and digital rights campaigners”, listing concerns about Russian interference in Brexit and interference in the 2016 presidential election. Yet the ICO confirmed that CA and its partner companies held on to parts of the Facebook data until at least 2017 and used it for political campaigning. “It is suspected” that those campaigns included the 2016 US presidential election, the ICO’s letter notes.

A devastating Channel 4 report claimed recently that Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign worked with a team from Cambridge Analytica and used data to target black voters for suppression through ads on Facebook.

On Russian meddling, the ICO said that possible evidence it had found of “Russia-located activity” fell beyond its remit and had been referred to the National Crime Agency for further investigation. Beyond that, it noted no “additional evidence of Russian involvement” in material on the CA servers it seized; it stretches credulity to present that as a full investigation into potential Russian influence on Brexit.

Note that last bit

You're still panicking about nothing on the basis of deliberately skewed map data, just over 45 in 100,000 in our affected areas down here.

So one in 2000.

There are some 6000 in my modern estate and from simple observation there's far more than 3 on their last legs and likely to expire at any moment from whatever they have already.

Around here at least Covid-19m is no big deal, and that's why no-one is taking social distancing seriously. Households intermingling remains the norm it's been throughout.

Sums it up nicely really, that sadly there are many members of our society here in the UK both senior and young that really don't give a toss be it for themselves or anyone else.
I support Barry's view that anyone that does not take covid very seriously indeed should be punished severely.
The young not by fining them which they don't pay anyway but by using the same shock methods as the far east, forcing them to dig graves and lie in coffins & ambulances .. works quite well I'm hearing.
As for senior members of the community, Pension top up benefits removed and other sanctions dished out accordingly. Also I'd like to see medical treatment withheld for those who will not comply with the law, and although I can't go into detail I have seen such action dished out already with a Doctor telling someone I knew to bugger off when he would not help himself. Great shame, still he had a nice Union flag draped over his box when he went.

This is fascinating

Parliament, and by that I mean both main parties, have failed the public dismally to produce a mass response like this.

And it hardly causes one to have much faith in the judgement of the public either, who were unable in many cases to engage the family brain cell long enough to come to a decision.
And then go out to break curfew , get smashed and a dose of the Virus

The public needs a good kick in the pocket to press home the seriousness of the current situation. Those who refuse to come together and make a few moderate sacrifices for a few days should fall out of any government financial help schemes. No furlough payments or other supplements should be made available to these people. The worst offenders, students at “University“ (excuse me for laughing) should be sent home if they party & socialise in the way we have seen. They should lose their £9K and not be allowed back on a course for 12 months.

These people are causing our hospitals to fill up thereby preventing other areas of the NHS to function properly, and they are putting health workers at unnecessary risk. They do it because they know that there are no consequences for them. That needs to change. They need to hurt and suffer very badly for their selfishness. Some are even calling Coronavirus a hoax. If it’s a hoax, they and their family won’t need a hospital or income supplements then? Scum.
