I can't stand all this politeness just say what you mean.
Pillock will do nicely for instance, and it avoids confusion.
He is one of course but I'm rather fond of his gruesome turn of phrase, and we Pillocks have to stick together after all.

The mutant algorithm is the one that resulted in the current so-called government.

Earlier on Wednesday Johnson prompted ridicule when he told pupils at a school in Leicestershire that the exams fiasco was caused by a “mutant algorithm”.

When A-level grades for England were first announced, Johnson said the results were “dependable” and “robust”.

"My concern is that we just keep making this up as we go along...the govt needs to get a grip on our scientists...how can the science change from one day to the next?" Huw Merriman, senior backbench Conservative MP, who opposes masks in Schools

The logic of Brexit thinking neatly encapsulated
".how can the science change from one day to the next?"
Perhaps because it is a discipline that requires an active brain capable of changing as available evidence does?

Back to Brexit... Big Phil Hogan has resigned as EU Trade Commissioner. This is a serious let off for the UK side. Additional information came to light after my previous posting. Any single one of the errors might have been glossed over, but when it gets to 4 or 5 in a short while ... Eg. He had not completed isolation after Brussels, He entered a locked down county , he was found using a phone in a moving car,..in the locked down county ,

Given the continuing non-availability of a Covid-19 exposure app for England, Wales and Scotland, the new release of the Apple IOS (although a beta at present) could be of interest and significance:

Unlike other developer frameworks, the system can only be used by a public health organization — and not all countries or states have implemented an official app. The new feature in iOS 13.7 appears to be a means to mitigate that weakness by allowing the system to collect contact data, even if users don't have an official public health app installed on their devices.

Your very own Dominic Cummings, but not with a powerful enough friend to keep him from being punished.

I suppose there is a role for a legally independent identity keeper.
Governments tell the keeper who tested positive, the keeper passes on the info to Google/Apple/Exposure app providers. The app providers don't receive the name/email address of the patient, just a token that connects to his/her device, same way that internet payment gateways work.

The lack of trust in the original UK (OK - S, W & E) app because of its data collection was astonishing. Despite it being confined to those few acres in the Solent.

Well the differences are that nobody protected him. And what he did was seen as a sequence of arrogant actions. Very few were illegal..(using the mobile phone was )..and utterly unnecessary, since the kind of car, and presumably type of phone would have made blue tooth pairing childs play.
He also had the common sense .. ultimately to realise you don't win in the court of public opinion ,when you are in the wrong, and his commissionership was damaged goods.

Farages lies exposed
Truth has never really mattered to Farage, and the Tory party has seen how successful lying can be. I really hope Trump does not get a second term, if he does then every lying, cheating, narcissistic politician in the world is going to think if he can get away with it so can I.
