It even works for BAME people, even though they're at higher risk of infection and police brutality.
it's about time that accidental deaths like George Floyd's should be stopped.
It's all about how much force can be legally used in arrest when the suspects are already handcuffed.
Floyd could have been simply chained to the squad car until he cooled off.
The lack of legal clarity allows officers with prejudice to tarnish the reputation of the whole police force.

I'm rather hoping that it is all tories who get ill. So opposition votes really can be carried - whether to defeat a government motion or push their own through.

Trouble is, about the only thing they have shown themselves really rather accomplished at is, you've guessed, coming down with covid-19.
I wonder if Alok Sharma has COVID, would the whole cabinet have to go on 14 days isolation?

All you have to do is take a "Black lives matter" placard wherever you go, and it gives you immunity against the virus and any lockdown rules. The police know this, so they won't bother you. I had one in London today and it proved to be extremely effective. It even works for BAME people, even though they're at higher risk of infection and police brutality.

I think there were some police there, who were unaware of or had forgotten that (maybe new recruits), so when they got a bit lippy, the crowd threw a load of bottles and punches at them, which must have reminded them what they were told in their morning briefing because after that they (police) got down on one knee and apologised. Maybe that's something to think about if they give you any hassle.
Does an MGB GT, or BLT, RNLI, LGBTQ, SPECTRUM (used to love Captain Scarlet show) RAC or AA placard work?

I saw a picture of those coppers kneeling down. Bunch of twats, they need a good shake and a kick up the arse. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous.

So will they go back and revise their already poor testing figures?

Exclusive: Tens of thousands of Covid-19 tests voided after decision to send swabs to US backfires

Almost 30,000 Britons must be retested for coronavirus costing taxpayer hundreds of thousands of pounds

Tens of thousands of Britons have had to be retested for coronavirus after a Whitehall decision to send swabs to a US laboratory backfired, The Telegraph can disclose.

Ministers admitted on Wednesday that in all 67,000 Covid-19 tests were sent to a lab in the US over 10 days at the beginning of last month, far in excess of the 50,000 previously admitted by officials.

The tests were sent to the US after capacity at a lab in Northern Ireland suddenly stopped processing samples.

Now it can be revealed that when they were returned to the UK more than four in 10 — nearly 30,000 — were 'voided' because of the way they had been processed. The cost to the taxpayer is likely to have run into hundreds of thousands of pounds....

Todays daily death toll for the UK was 359, the total daily death toll for all 27 countries in the EU was 314. How on earth can we be easing up on lockdown rules when our daily death toll is higher than all these 27 countries added together?
Because it will make us the winners.

We lost WW2 at Dunkirk, but are still able to say we won the war.

Almost all of our industry and commerce failed in the years following the war. But we still have full employment for ourselves and lots of them too with one of the highest employment rates in Europe.

Somehow we'll fiddle a way to make us the best performing in the end with Covid-19.

It's what we do.

The best way to stop these deaths is to stop being naughty so the policeman doesn't have any need to arrest you. It's really simple.

AFAIK, other placards work to an extent, but will only give total immunity if taken with a BLM placard. Maybe Danidl could test how effective a rainbow placard is on its own at one of their rallies and report back. I don't get paid for those rallies/protests, so I won't be going.

What gets in the way is "British common sense" whatever that is!

It baffles me that people will protest "Black lives matter" by putting all human lives at risk
So much for common sense, it doesn't work anywhere in the world never mind here!

I think you missed the major point there; the issue is there are all too many policemen who basically treat being black as being naughty. Widely true in the US, and sadly far from unknown in the UK.

In the specific George Floyd case I have not seen if there was good reason for arrest, nor whether he resisted that arrest.

Probably the type who are more comfortable dancing in Pride parades
or turning up at people's doors to "correct their thinking" about trannies.
First we had finger painting plod.
Then there was dancing plod (xr)..... and now kneeling plod.

I’ve not seen anything at reported about what George Floyd had been up to prior to his arrest. It could have been nothing or it could have been very serious, nobody seems to want to report on it.

A quick Google search on George Floyd reveals that he had previously been a naughty man:

Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs

It seems like he'd tried to use a counterfeit $20 in a store, an employee called the police, George Floyd put up some resistance and he died whilst being restrained. Lots of questions to answer regarding excessive force, restraint tactics, reason why he resisted etc, but I suppose if he'd chosen not used a fake $20, and chosen to cooperate with the initial investigation non of this would have happened. I won't be using a fake £20, so don't think I have much to worry about.

A deli employee called 911, accusing him of buying cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill, so the police arrived to arrest him.

He had quite a long rap sheet. It was reported that one of his crimes (maybe the most recent) was breaking into a pregnant woman's house to rob her and he threatened her by pointing his gun at her belly - probably not a very nice guy.

The police officer is also reported to have had a list of complaints against him, so possibly bad guys on both sides. One important fact reported is that the two guys used to work together, so they knew each other pretty well. there's probably a bit more to this story.

One thing I find very strange is that there was no outrage and hardly any media coverage when 8 year old Emily Jones was executed under much more tragic circumstances. I bet most of you aren't even aware of the case. The perpetrator was Albanian, which is a predominantly Muslim country and the method of execution coincided with written a instruction from a certain prophet.
