Here's the four page letter

Here's the explanatory notes of Boris's offer to the EU

The DUP seem to have agreed to something they haven't read. or more likely understand after being promised more cash?
Bojo proposes that Northern Ireland should stay in the European single market for goods, but leave the customs union - resulting in new customs checks.
The Northern Ireland Assembly would get to approve the arrangements first and vote every four years on keeping them.
I think that's positive.
But this if accepted still means May's deal except for the backstop, a deal that was totally rejected on various grounds, especially by the Tory right.

How come it's ok now?

The journey was the Dublin Liverpool then Dover and Calais into Brussels. What was surprising was that actually traveling direct to Le Havre or Cherbourg was only about 2 to 3 hours more. ..and the truck driver was off the tachometer for longer.
One of the very few possible benefits of brexit is reduced HGV traffic through the UK - as you imply, Dover to Liverpool, and Holyhead, Fishguard, Pembroke Dock. Of course, Kent being a lorry park might reduce the appeal somewhat.

Except there is no NI Assembly nor has there been for the last 3 years. And there is no current talks. BJ has only been talking with one group ,which is a minority party in NI. The only subject on which the DUP is likely to hold a majority position is retention of the NI UK union.
that's after 2025. Until then, NI stays in the SM. If there is a deal, there will be customs check from 2012.

because the conservatives accept that the blow to the economy would be much reduced with an implementation period, they'll get brexit done if they have a deal. Their real prize is to leave the customs union to avoid or reduce import duty on goods (Dyson), food (British Sugars) and drinks (Wetherspoons). If they kill some of our producers in the process then ...

This is madness when they intend to sell very much more to the wider world yet we have such a lack of producers of tangible things to sell.

Johnson and his allies don't seem able to see beyond the end of their noses.

Why should they? they only represent a select group, not this nation, and they can see all they need to for that, after all they have to means to "Exit stage left" when the proverbial hits the fan.
What they are engaged in is a closing down sale, and retiring on the proceeds.

I know. Those promises of frictionless trade and no border were made recently too. Now we have the proposal of not one, but two borders.

People are either massively stupid on a scale that I never considered possible, or Johnson is the master of lies and deception. Neither option is anything to be proud of, but I’m inclined to believe the massively stupid option. There is a tonne of evidence to support the idea that people are being treated with contempt, but still they make excuses for Johnson and are eager believe the next lie, just hours after the previous one is exposed.
Thank you for your vote.

The reason we are leaving is because of people like yourself.

Sensible people.

I can see the attraction for someone in Wales, except it does reduce employment

Indeed, it would not be all good. Despite being near both Pembroke Dock and Fishguard, I don't think it would make that much difference. (Though it might reduce the likelihood of the A40 being improved - as it needs to be for safety.)

But the motorways (and other roads) from Dover to Holyhead and Liverpool might be nicer to drive.

Do you own a fuel magnetiser? It a little magnet which clips onto the fuel pipe feeding the engine in your car. It magnetises the fuel. Magnetised fuel give you an extra 33% MPG and reduces emissions by 47%. I can sell you one for £56 and it will pay for itself in no time at all.

I genuinely believe magnets are the future.

Imagine a tube under the Ocean. A giant magnetic tube. Getting from Cornwall to new York in three hours. Minimum emissions. Total comfort and safety.

This world was born and exists thanks to the iron catastrophe. We are ferrous. We should embrace this marvel.

I have a shitty Corsa. It's a runaround. I don't even drive it tbh. It's for the wife. Fuel costs are less than a score a week.

But once I move to my Brexit house I might buy a decent car. Leastways a bigger one. I will need to as my son gets to two and my daughter is born. They will want to play football and cricket and he will want to go to ballet classes probably.

So when that happens I will give you a shout.

But it's mates rates and I won't go above a bullseye.

It's a horrible thing for me to say. Especially as I've spent so much time in northern Ireland but I wish it was just Ireland or all of it was UK.

Northern Ireland is distinct though. Very different from Ireland. Well Belfast is compared to Dublin.

Come and join us. **** of the EU. We will look after you. You are more similar to us than Belgium or Italy.

Make sure you get a North magnetiser. (The South magnetisers increase fuel consumption by 33% and emissions by 47%.)

Yeah.

The keyword is might.

The main sentence is we have the tech.

Same as Galileo. It's basically our knowledge.

I bet we have built a backdoor in it anyway.

Another thing we will get for free once we leave.

Brexit!
What we absolutely flat out cannot afford is a UK satellite navigation system. On top of more and more money for everything the opinion polls suggest might make a difference to BJ's prospects.
