Oddly, I have heard there is a major campaign, but have seen almost nothing of it. I obviously don't read the right sources. (Yes, have seen bits on gov.uk.)

And, other than stocking up, it is actually difficult to know what to do to prepare.

Bake some Welsh cakes and get the babysham on ice.

It's going to be a Brexit party!

Fail to prepare prepare to fail at having a Brexit party.

Seeing the Government Prepare for Brexit advert I go to the website.
What do I find as advice for me?
You do not need to take action at this time
Based on your responses, you do not need to take any action to prepare for the Brexit deadline of 31 October 2019.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
What is the point of a campaign on the TV that has nothing to offer members of the public?
This is an absolute farce.

Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, the prime minister said: “If judges are to pronounce on political questions in this way, then there is at least an argument that there should be some form of accountability.
He really is thick. The judgement was not a political one, it was a constitutional one as Lady Hale made very clear.

The court did not prevent him having a prorogue, indeed he could still have one. It merely objected to its extraordinary length being unacceptable and unnecessary.

Effectively they were agreeing with my conclusion back on 31st August in this post.

I suppose that makes me a thicko in 50Hertz's book, since I've just pointed out what a clever clogs I am. ;)

What BJ and co seem to be missing is that for centuries the highest court of the oland was the House of Lords sitting in judgement. That this became the SC was a choice but does not (should not) affect their status. Now we see:

On Saturday night, Johnson signalled that he would again challenge the judiciary by introducing US-style political screening of supreme court judges before they are appointed. Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, the prime minister said: “If judges are to pronounce on political questions in this way, then there is at least an argument that there should be some form of accountability. The lessons of America are relevant.” The Law Society and the Bar Council both said last week that politically appointed judges would threaten the independence of the judiciary.
The lesson of this year is that the power of Prime Minister needs to be severely curtailed, it puts far too much unaccountable power into an individual's hands.

Is this the U.K. being prepared for a no-deal Brexit?
And, other than stocking up, it is actually difficult to know what to do to prepare.
The government have said some while ago that it's precautionary. It's aimed primarily at companies to ensure tney are ready to cope with the export/import documentation that will be necessary and the delays in transit if we leave with No Deal.

This has been true for a very long time, most particularly since Blair plunged us into the Iraq war against the will of the people and most MPs in parliament.

But it has been true as far back as Anthony Eden and the war over Suez.

I watched Marr interviewing Bojo this morning.
The impression I got is Bojo does not care much whether he gets a deal, he only wants an GE to give him 5 years.
It is now very likely that brexit will be delayed until after the GE, I doubt that JC will catch up Bojo in the polls in time for the GE.
Ashcroft published his polls today, if the choice of PM is between him and JC, Bojo will win by a 2 to 1 margin, either brexit happens before the GE or not.

All ancient history now, but the company found ground source heat pumps a better bet in cooler countries, and also far less noisy in operation (that may well be out of date this was over 25 years ago.)
The other proposals included building houses with sleeping areas downstairs and living areas upstairs. to take advantage the different temperature requirements.
It all came to nothing after a promising start.
No you are correct, the underground source water to water heat pump, is more efficient. However, the additional engineering of groundworks and maybe sterilising a section of the lawn makes the Return on Investment decisions harder. Shrubs and trees will not grow well close to the grid of brine pipes, due to lowered soil temperature. Vertical bore 100 m holes are the best method ,but also the most expensive. Using a 200 watt air fan, over truck sized radiators is the most cost effective solution...which is why ASHPs are winning out.
Incidentally my air to water Heat pump makes less noise than my neighbours oil burner

Leadsom also under fire, whether valid or not:

The business secretary, Andrea Leadsom, has come under fire after it emerged she did not speak to Thomas Cook executives during increasingly frantic talks between the company and the government leading up to its collapse last week.

Records of telephone calls and meetings, seen by the Guardian, indicate that there was widespread awareness among government ministers that the 178-year-old tour operator’s finances were deteriorating for months prior to its failure.

But the documents indicate that Leadsom and ministers and officials from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) had little to no discussion with the company about its ailing balance sheet until after it had slumped into liquidation.

One source familiar with the relationship between the government and the company said BEIS, which oversees the response to business collapses such as those of Carillion and British Steel, “didn’t want a meeting and didn’t ask for one”.

If you are running businesses there are plenty of things including getting export numbers

So entirely propagandistic to use matrix signs.

Many years ago, I had an oil burning boiler (replaced solid fuel). The noise was far greater than I had expected. Grew used to it, and it wasn't actually horrible, but I'd rather have less noise, please.
