Not Brexit, but as this channel is more politics than just Brexit, I'll have to post this. It's the funniest thing I've seen in politics in my life.

In USA, since Trump wants to build a wall to keep the immigrants out, the democrats have been bleating on about how good immigrants are and how the country is so much better for having them. Trump now has a solution to make them all happy. He's going to take the immigrants out of their containment camps and move them to the democrat districts. Checkmate!

JC wants to leave the EU, and he does not want a second referendum.
I reckon he does. He may call it a Boris lock but it is what it is, cancelling brexit by a legal mean and delivering him the key to No 10.

His tactic is sound, the second referendum can only be proposed and accepted as last resort because parliament can't do the job it's paid to do.
Labour de facto represents remainers. 56/44 says that Labour will form the next government.

What do you folks think is the chance that we will have EU elections here? I think its a bit less than 50%, and I think the chance of JC and TM coming up with a deal both can live with is a bit more than 50%.

JC wants to leave the EU, and he does not want a second referendum. My understanding of Labours position on a second referendum is that it should happen in the event of a no deal (WTO) or it should happen if May gets her current deal through.

If however a deal is worked out between JC and TM that probably consists of some kind of customs union then JC will not feel obliged to ask for a second referendum. This will cheese off a lot of his members, but he can say he is only following the agreed policy that was passed at conference last year.
Any party that goes forward with brexit forfeits my vote - forever.

At present, it looks as if it would have to be Plaid Cymru.

Trump as usual should have done his homework before opening his mouth. Democrat voting areas of the USA already have the most immigrant residents. That's why they vote democratic!

A few more won't worry them.

latest 2019 EP poll:
it seems to confirm 56/44 for remain.

If there is an election and Change UK run then I will probably vote for them, if they don't run then I will probably vote Liberal Democrat. I suspect that a lot of leave voters wont bother to vote at all as they will feel their vote does not count. I do have some sympathy with them because if I had voted leave I would probably feel this way too.

On the other hand a lot of remainers will vote and they will vote for pro EU parties such as Change UK or the Liberal Democrats so I can see these two parties doing a bit better than listed in the current voting intentions list.

Thats 4 more than Croatia have. Saying he has no influence in EU with 15 seats is an admission of the flawed nature of EU???
No... That is not what was said. The UK has 73 seats reflecting a population of 60 millions. If 15 of them are useless windbags, they will get listened, to, they will have their votes, but they will not be influencers of opinion . MEPs are no different than other public representatives elsewhere, they suffer fools politely.

The Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD or EFD) Group of right wing identity MEPs have a voice but next to no influence on making EU laws in the same system/way the LibDems have no influence on UK laws.

In saying he has used five different names I'm not repeating anything the media have told me. I made the observation that his use of five completely different names makes him a dishonest person.

In fact I've read or heard almost nothing about him in the media since he doesn't interest me. I only know of his anti muslim sentiments from two friends who are among his most ardent supporters and follow everything he says. They both understand him to be very anti Muslim, fitting with their own feelings, and have tried to convince me that he's a force for good in the way you are doing.

It hasn't worked with them and isn't with you. I don't see him as aforce for good at all, only as a troublemaker.
.
And how many different names have you used? I can think of at least two. I'm on six different forums, all with different names. What's the big deal?

You still have it wrong. He's not anti Muslim, so that's one thing you don't know about him. If you want to comment on things or people, do your own research, otherwise you make yourself look silly and lose credibility. I have a friends who follow every move of Jeremy Corbin, who say they like him because he's a communist. Should I therefore tell everybody here that it's true?

but you don't go on public meetings, marches and appear in Courts with 6 different names though.

So is that an argument for scrapping all laws and regulations or ignoring them?

Obviously there has to be regulation, but in a country like ours there are millions of opinions about what the law should be. No matter what they are, there will be many disagreeing.

It's inevitable that law increasingly restricts as more and more people call for restriction, showing that it's not the authorities so much as the people who create the restrictions by demanding them. Look around you and you'll see numerous examples of this.

We'll only get less restrictive law when the people themselves become more tolerant.
.
That's a good point. This is where the democratic process underpins the laws. If the people making the laws state their agendas and are democratically elected, then people generally accept the laws, but if the laws come from unelected people just to suit their own agendas, there's going to be a riot.

As far as people demanding restrictions, as far as I can see, it's vocal minorities that do that, which just causes more unrest.

Best way of avoiding this (at least in my opinion) is revoke A50... and have an EU celebration day.
Brilliant idea. I think EU day will be 23rd May, after which there's going to be a lot of celebrations, but I don't think you'll like what they're going to be celebrating.

The only thing that's going to let them off the hook is a deal, but that's not going to be very comfortable for them either, though it's probably the best for them out of the options available, so it won't surprise me to see one just before may 23rd.

we are leaving, just waiting for JC to say the word.
As for the European parliament election, UKIP and Farage Brexit party are on 14% of voting intention at the moment.
In view that both those two parties are skint if not broke, can only see their share of the votes will be less than that.
I'll tell you what. If Farage and Tommy Robinson are sitting in the EU parliament, I'm pretty sure that Juncker and his crew will suddenly find a few concessions that will facilitate a quick exit for UK.

You didn't watch the video then to see the reaction from all the democrat leaders who previously said how much they'd welcome more.

I've seen another video where a reporter was walking around a city in Canada asking individuals if they would take in a refugee. All the ones shown were so compassionate and welcoming until the reporter produced an immigrant and asked them if they could take him. They each very quickly made excuses.
