Brexit, for once some facts.

Yup. Predictions huh? Like the one before the ref' when the Bank of England with the IMF and the Chancellor of the Exch predicted 500,000 job losses.

And what actually happened?

So far - around 500,000 jobs created.
These recycling of "facts " needs to be confronted each and every time they are trotted out.
Need I yet remind you that the UK has NOT left the EU?.
Need I remind you that the euro/ pound is trading around an exchange rate of 0.86 having been as bad as 0.91, whereas before the referendum it was at 0.72?. And it is only at that level because the pound is bouyed up because of an expectation of not immenently leaving.
Need I remind you that the EU is doing better than the UK in terms of growth? And that there are numerous graphs indicating the amount of growth sacrificed by the UK on the altar of Brexit. Now you can reasonably claim that predicted growth foregone, was only a prediction, and that would be correct, but it is reasonable to expect that the UK would have done as well as the Eurozone over the same period.

In my neck of the woods youd be labelled "very brave" (before that inevitable subdural haematoma and years in a wheelchair for punching a grizzly). It has nothing to do with corbyn or socialism. But i dont think you can recognise that.
It was the second bowl of Frosties what done it.

And in the Daily Mirror
"
No Deal Brexit plans STOOD DOWN after 'wasting' up to £1.5bn in one year
Thousands of civil servants working on an imminent exit have been stood down despite long-term planning carrying on - sparking fury from MPs who say billions was "wasted" after years of austerity
You and the daily Mirror. I think you need help.

Yes, lots of propaganda, but that's not the whole story. I can remember an article that pointed out that the concentration of leave voters was closely linked to the feeling of economic well-being. That is the worst people felt, the more likely they were to vote leave, which sounds logical to me. If you feel that you're being short-changed, would you vote to continue with that or for a chance to change it?
Finally a logical set of statements. The only flaw in their voting intentions is that they attacked the wrong target.

Unfortunately that's just an opinion too.

It's very easy to make counter arguments to every point raised in that article.

Statements like, "many economists contend..." are just propoganda because there are millions of economists. A logician would interpret that as "most economists don't contend...". It's similar in other articles when people say something "could" happen. Well, there's a finite possibility that aĺl the particles of which you're made could spontaneously disintegrate and reassemble on the moon, so that "could" happen too, but it's not very likely. These sort of statements are never qualified by the probability.
Britain joined what was then the European Economic Community in 1973 as the sick man of Europe. By the late 1960s, France, West Germany and Italy — the three founder members closest in size to the UK — produced more per person than it did and the gap grew larger every year. Between 1958, when the EEC was set up, and Britain’s entry in 1973, gross domestic product per head rose 95 per cent in these three countries compared with only 50 per cent in Britain.

After becoming an EEC member, Britain slowly began to catch up. Gross domestic product per person has grown faster than Italy, Germany and France in the more than 40 years since. By 2013, Britain became more prosperous than the average of the three other large European economies for the first time since 1965.

Coincidence or what...

I would like the MPs to vote for the good of the people they represent and who voted them in, not for their own agendas, which are mostly do do with self-service and self-preservation. Your question could indicate that you're very naieve about what motivates these guys.
Not needing to defend Woosh, but he has provided the facts. In the UK you elect essentially a group of dictators ,unbound by anything, except their judgement and a respect for precedents, to lord over you. If you,the electorate, have failed in selecting people of good judgement, then the fault is yours alone.
Other countries, also democracies, put limits on the power of their elected representatives, by having Constitutions, and giving limited oversight to a Supreme Court.

that just confirms that no deal brexit is essentially supported by conservative voters.
Certainly not the will of the people.
are conservative voters not the people and to be ignored. The only people to count should be lefty liberals

and when you ask where is the £350million promised to the NHS. May I remind you that we have not left yet and the EU has still got it's hands in our pockets

I'm afraid you're wasting your time Wicky, I pointed out all this in this thread even before the referendum and several times since.

Brexiters simply won't take any notice of the facts about our very recent history to date. Instead they substitute blind faith in us magically succeeding in a wider world if we break all connections with the EU.

Good to read this - just very late and far too little prominence - and not followed by the order of the boot for the "journalist" who made such an egregious error, sorry, lie.

The Daily Telegraph has been forced to correct a column by Boris Johnson after the Brexiter MP and potential Tory leadership candidate falsely claimed a no-deal Brexit was the most popular option among the British public.

Maybe not enough to totally remove chances of becoming PM, but at least another step in the right direction.

I was not going to.. there has been enough untruths without increasing the supp!y , but it is correct the UK is still a nett contributor and beneficiary ,and the EU is still giving those grants to disadvantaged areas , reducing that untruthful 350 to close to 1/3 nett of that figure.
Before you now waste your time in recycling the myth that compliance with EU standards is costing billions,.. It is , but it would cost the same,if not more , in researching and creating compliance with new BSI standards of equivalent standing.

Conservative voters are People ,not THE people, and as many as exist should be respected as much and no more as lefty liberals or Greens ,or the DUPed. Using the definite article is reminiscent of the Afrikaans and their choice of DER Volk. .. surely you are not in favour of restricted voting rights to others who are not THE PEOPLE .

I have no idea what to make of Assange fiasco but the DM is outraged and has done its best job at a character assisination possible but why oh why do Corbyn and Abbott have such a desire to comment on the situation. They do it everytime, just more ammunition to belittle and stupify Labour.
Its a hornets nest any party leader with any sense avoids at all costs especially so for one in Corbyn's position. There is no point either defending or attacking him, whats the point.

Absolutely shameful the way they do that. Disgraceful.
It's probably happening all the time. There's pretty clear evidence that even the BBC do it. Just do a Google search for Panodrama. What's worse is the whole media must be corrupt. You'd think that when Panodrama was put on a 30 ft screen and shown to thousands of people at a protest outside the BBC center in Manchester that there would be newspaper headlines and items on the other channels, but nothing other than a deathly hush.
