I, m sure we can agree to disagree. Not sure many see much real improvements in their lives attributable to EU when everything is as you keep insisting... advisory. The government of day would in all likely hood adopted the policies anyway and ignored the ones tok costly, too enlightened, toi socially minded etc etc etc.
The real benefits have been jobs frim EU trade, but why should country have to take your advisory (at moment, see OG's post) policies to get the trade.
We dont have to and wont.

Leave won because promises were made of better times A Federal Europe was hardly mentioned at all.

The public in other parts of Europe have no difficulty in seeing the advantages that EU membership has given. Some is trade related,some is social development. Speak with any of the third level students and they will talk about their Erasmus exchange , talk with the shell fish producers, and they talk about bringing their mussels to the Paris markets. The meat producers about feeding directly into factories scattered throughout France, Germany, even Poland. The country villages with their Leader programnes.

We have fully discussed and explained what EU advisory is... Very few of the EU advisories ,remain unadopted. The reason being that they have been consensually driven to such an extent that they are invariably the highest common multiple of what is acceptable to everyone.

Why should we be supporting villages in Eastern Europe when our own towns are decaying? These are western countries. They have the best opportunities going.

We give 13billion in aid to countries that need it.

Pound for pound per capita we give the most international aid in the world.

Yet on those findings we are still 5th. Against the like of Denmark and UAE. Our taxation is less than those countries so per person our generosity is bigger.

They loved Thatcher and her ideas how it made them money. Blair carried on.

We can still strike the same deals. Or not. They are not prepared to spend money upgrading.

They see how the global environment is changing.

I appreciated his words re racism.

As a white man it suits me. Others disagree with him strongly. I hear friends saying he is a useful idiot. In regards to Brexit I appreciate his candour but his argument that being thick doesn’t really apply to me.

So I see what some friends of colour say about his views on race.

true, but it applies to many millions brexit voters.
I am not concerned by that, I always thought that I do not like to see this country absorbed into the USE, I prefer we join EFTA instead.
