Makes rather more sense than much of Nostradamus' work!Looking at the poem it takes on the aspect of a Nostradamus quatrain applied to our present Brexit situation!

Indeed it does , but it has helped the circulation of the Express and Mail over the years!Makes rather more sense than much of Nostradamus' work!
My bet is [3] is an obvious reference to Davis"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will." [1]
So they took it away, and were married next day [*]
By the Turkey who lives on the hill. [2]
They dined on mince, and slices of quince, [3]
Which they ate with a runcible spoon; [4]
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon. [5]
[1] Ring being an obvious reference to the EU flag with the ring of gold stars.
[*] Probably some obscure reference.
[2] Coming up to Christmas, anything a turkey does is suspect.
[3] OK – so we have the Quince, who will be the mince?
[4] Clearly a reference to the HoC mace, and possibly Heseltine?
[5] Prediction of the state at least in NI when electricity become unavailable and they (we?) have to make do with moonlight.
Actually the reference has been amended to include the following suffixJust checked brexit in that home of warm and cuddly words, Urban Dictionary. One definition:
Brexit
A specific type of fart; the kind emitted in the naïve belief it's "better out than in", but which has disastrous, unforeseen repercussions.
Be warned of the extreme language widely used on that site.
God help us all.Well, I wonder what this week will bring us. The events of last week in parliament were a major blow for the government and gave a huge fillip to Labour's cause.
The expression, 'Prime Minister Jeremy Corbyn' just became a lot closer than many imagine.

Right. What's all the fuss about (pause for incoming): ‘No deal’ merely means trading on WTO terms. Trade on WTO terms is the norm. 90 per cent of world trade is done on WTO terms. 60 per cent and rising of our trade with other countries is done on WTO terms. Our exports to the countries we trade with on WTO terms have grown three times as fast as our exports to the EU’s Single Market. Our businesses trading with the USA trade on WTO terms and we run a trade surplus with the USA. Our businesses trading with the EU trade on its Single Market terms and we run a trade deficit with the EU. WTO rules give us full access to the EU’s Single Market. Access does not require membership. It would be illegal for the EU to restrict our access to the Single Market.if TM's deal goes through, there won't be much change in our economy.
If we leave on WTO, trade will continue like before, there will be contraction due to the predicted lower value of the Pound. Over time, some large manufacturers will move out, some new specialist manufacturers will invest here (avionics, airframes, airplane wings, renewable energy, electric cars, bio medical, robotics, software development etc)
the whole world is moving away from high carbon economy, the UK is no exception.
T. May needs to go. But who to replace her that's the tricky question!Interserve: Major government contractor 'seeks second rescue deal'
More for May to contend with in this season of joy / ripening up for sell off...
'Dependence'? Huh? Just because we currently get 29% from there does not mean we are 'dependent'! Doh. It's that sort of blinkered thinking that got us here in the first place. Just because I get 100% of my food from the local shop does not mean I will die of hunger if it closes down - I WILL SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!!Our dependence on the EU for food compared with the rest of the World
That woman was far from right as the photo I posted of Croydon from the 2011 riots showed. Far worse than Paris currently, whole swathes of shopping areas burnt out throughout the centre. And we were only one part of London affected the same way, as were many other parts of the country.
It ain't over till the ft lady sings and I don't see no fat lady singing yet. The next few weeks should be some of the most interesting ever (in my lifetime) in British politics. Nobody knows how this is going to turn out. Right now everybody is guessing. Oh sure - we all have our hunches - but what makes it actually so interesting is that we DO NOT KNOW.And not many look disappointed, even the 17.5 million who were mugged into voting for something they are not going to get and briefly saw themselves as "winners"
Have you seen the millions of vehicles in the UK displaying the EU flag?Just a thought: As British politicians try to tie us back into Brussels, armoured vehicles speed through Paris, displaying the EU flag.
And what is the significance of that observation? do explain.OK - one more: View attachment 28075
We have been from Day one, and still haven't heard of a single reason to expect Brexit will be beneficial, unless you can propose something? It ain't over till the ft lady sings and I don't see no fat lady singing yet. The next few weeks should be some of the most interesting ever (in my lifetime) in British politics. Nobody knows how this is going to turn out. Right now everybody is guessing. Oh sure - we all have our hunches - but what makes it actually so interesting is that we DO NOT KNOW.
Stay tuned.
