Charles Aznavour died today.
His family saved Jews and Armenians from the Gestapo and he worked as Edith Piaf's manager while working on his own voice. They said he was too ugly and short so sing, but he did it anyway.

he doesn't frighten me. I just think he is an incompetent buffoon, who is just recycling old ideas that will take the country to bankruptcy. If he tried to run a business like he wants to run the country he would be booted out very quickly
So why haven't you taken the opportunity to vote against the Conservatives? they couldn't run a Whelk stall at the seaside.
What kind of business sense is it to make not merely the mistake of showing the entire world how stupid you are, by internal quarrelling like rats in a sack, letting a small faction mess on the carpet, refusing to control offshore tax fiddles and insulting your biggest customers?
And reneging on promises already agreed.

Businesses run like that are doomed

If Labour can't get its act together I suspect May would be least dangerous. Hardly a recommendation when we are choosing a PM in a damage limitation exercise..
So, yes I, d say May. I really worry for country if Corbyn did get in. I think it's really frightening.

If he came back he would be a good option.
Why are you still pushing the Tory lies?
However I am pleased to see your previous enthusiasm for Brexit has gone from it being an "opportunity" to a Damage limitation exercise.
Well done, but a pity you didn't think about what your vote in the Referendum would come to mean before you made it.

So May announces the end of free movement does she?
Then gives a list of exemptions that effectively mean nothing changes.

But the emotive phrase "end of free movement" is enough to con the usual victims of their lies.

And the fly in the ointment? many Trade deals require deals on immigration from the country involved, you can forget doing a deal with India for a start.
Let's sum it up
Only people on more than £50,000 a year will be given precedence, thus putting our brightest and "best" at the back of the queue, because they can't afford the education or training to qualify them they should be getting for free.
So the numbers coming in won't change very much, will they?

At the bottom end we have shunted our labour force into bogus jobs to hide the unemployment figures, so the Government will allow the same number of EU workers in to fill those jobs.

They have always had the power to cut off the numbers of none EU workers, but never have kept that promise.
Who is stupid enough to believe they will start to do that now? when the reason they didn't was it would cost too much.

So what are we left with?

Fake news for the Right wing tabloids to boast about

Really? are you talking about this fella?
"He has said that holding a referendum on EU membership was madness, but that once it had been decided to hold one, he would vote to Leave on the hope that this would result in a deeper renegotiation of the UK’s terms of membership.

The Express has this nonsense
"
NO-DEAL BREXIT READY: No10's shock plan to TURBO-CHARGE economy on DAY ONE of EU exit
EXCLUSIVE: Ministers are planning a package of radical tax cuts for households and businesses to turbo-charge the economy if Britain quits the EU without a deal, the Daily Express has learned.

Corporation tax could be halved and millions of earners see their income tax significantly reduced under the move to attract a rush of new UK if the Brussels talks collapse.

Brilliant? at a stroke reduce the Tax coming in and fuel a short term so called boom that will simply make internal money go round and round before going bust again.
If this is a good idea, why haven't they done it before?
Because it won't work, and Foreign investors will see it for the desperate ploy it is, and how it will wreck an already precarious economy.

For that reason I commend it, better to face inevitable trouble and destruction of the Conservative Brexit Fantasy sooner than later.

Like constipation treated by laxatives?

"No, you are no longer constipated. But you have to take this laxative every six hours. And it is never going to be quite the same as when you had free movement."

Congratulations in reclassifying Brexit

It was an Enigma
It is now an Enema (of the permanent variety)

The Daily Star run this
"
Theresa May set to strike Brexit deal by POSTPONING leaving EU beyond 2020
THERESA May is expected to make major concessions in new proposals to the EU that could delay Brexit for years and restrict Britain’s ability to strike trade deals.
The Prime Minister is planning to keep Britain tied to European customs rules on goods beyond the scheduled leaving date of March 2019, according to the Times.

Under these plans her government would not have complete freedom to agree trade deals with nations across the world for several years after the transition period ends in December 2020, the paper claims.

Her Brexit proposals also reportedly involve accepting demands that goods entering Northern Ireland from Britain must meet European standards, meaning possible checks in the Irish Sea.

Mrs May will hope her updated offer to the EU will give them more time to resolve the Irish backstop, which would come into effect should not deal be reached.

I won't be voting for anything or anyone again. Obviously there is no point. Unless people vote to an agenda it is considered that the vote is worthless and should be overturned. Why would I vote against the conservatives. I certainly wouldn't vote for Labour in it's current guise and UKIP is gone. Lib dems, what a waste of time they are. Is the Monster Raving Looney Party still going?????

If I had ever been asked asked to name some French male vocalists, I would be stuck after Sacha Distel, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour and the unforgettable Maurice Chevalier. Sadly, none of those are with us any longer therefore, without doing some research, my knowledge of male French singers is zero. Apologies for my ignorance of the French music scene 'Woosh'. I must ask my Parisian DIL to acquaint me with whichever vocalists are considered 'hip' today in France, if that expression still exists.

With the brexit bonus we won't need tax cuts. Will we? ;)
the government will be so flush with cash from taxing those in work, so it can afford tax cuts for corporations. They don't pay much already, soon they'll get tax refund for past payments - more of a reason not to leave.

that was the sound of my youth. I don't understand the new music anyway to listen to anything post 1980s.
Aznavour was on French TV last Friday. I must say I am a bit surprised that he went so soon after.
