1. The EU isn't as corrupt as the US and you want a special relationship with them, please explain? Oh they speak a form of the English language...
2. The EU didn't like some of the MEPs you elected to represent you, they don't like some of the MEPs France elected either but nobody has their undies in a knot over it.
3. Isn't having an EU army a good idea? Wasn't the UK belonging to an EU army a good idea? What? As long as all the generals are English it is OK, sorry don't think that was the idea...
4. Turkey might have stood a chance on the paper until they voted in a dictator for life but in fact too many member countries were/are opposed to the idea. The UK forced the EU to admit several countries before they were ready for membership in a plot to destabilise the balance of power inside the EU. Didn't work. Sorry.
5. Public forum, wear full body armour - that is what I learnt about participating on public internet forums in 1994...

I think there are a lot of Brexiters who still support Brexit because thats what they voted for but now have no logical reason to support Brexit except that was what they voted for.
It's sort of sheep like....'lets go into the field next door'.....'but the grass is greener in this field'.....'yeh but we havent been in that field before,it could get greener'...'I want to stay here'....'I'm going, anyway it was my idea'

None of which justifies wrecking the UK economy by leaving the EU..
Yes, flecc, the economy of the UK is in tatters... unemployment at an all time ... err..
LOW!!

Government's July surplus at 18-year high

The government's finances were in surplus by £2bn last month, the biggest surplus for July in 18 years, official figures show.

The figure was up from a surplus of £1bn a year ago.

At the same time, borrowing in the April-to-July period fell to its lowest level since 2002.

Exactly, doing well while we are still in the EU, just as we've been for the 44 years since we joined. Thank you for your pro Remain support.

thats great.... Brexit in only 7 months, so nothing to fear then,

the country has given it a vote of confidence
Come back five years after we've left and post the unemployment and government fiscal positions then, when we'll have proof of what life is like on the outside.

Zero hour contract = you have a job. Can you feed your family and pay rent with what you earn? Doesn't matter, unemployment is down!

I live in England, so it's the good that the EU have done for us that counts for me. That the Greek and Spanish national governments have squandered their opportunities is their business and not the fault of the EU.

EU membership is an opportunity, not a source of internal government. Each member country still runs their domestic show, something Brexiters seem to find difficulty in understanding, imagining that the EU controls everything, when in truth it controls very little.

The EU does not define sovereign nations employment policy, the national governments do that.

Southern Spain relies on agriculture and tourism for employment, northern Spain is more industrial. Youth in southern Spain may be without a job because without a contract which involves social security paiement etc. etc. You might find these "unemployed" serving tables or picking fruit and veg and at the end of the day being paid cash in hand. Note that these young people are often the ones that didn't get a decent education/diploma, the ones that did are in Germany or working for the NHS for example... The EU is not responsible for each nations education policies either.

1. The Eu is corrupt (so is this government but we get to vote them out)
2. I don't like the EU's attitude towards us (even before the vote)
3.The EU want an EU army (they denied this but have now admitted it)
4.Who will they let in in the future ? Turkey ?
Ignorance is bliss, eh 'daveboy'?

Seriously, you need to do some research on all of the EU as the whole structure is a model of democratic process. You have fallen into the trap of regurgitating the nonsense spouted by ignorant people - rubbish like denigrating unelected officials' without even knowing who those are - try finding out about which posts are by appointment, check who does the appointing, then check how long occupancy of such posts last.

If you really do spend some time going through the various elements of the EU, you will be wishing our 'mother of parliaments' was even half as good!

Do you not understand that we have the opportunity to determine the British MEPs and can vote them out? Other states can do the same with theirs.

What is wrong with having an army? It makes a lot of sense and it would be a better entity than NATO, for god's sake. To be distinctly different from and un-reliant upon the USA would massively increase our acceptance by other nations worldwide.

I really can't be bothered trying to explain to someone with such a closed mind why the EU is good for the UK but you really should do some research rather than just reiterate the soundbites of the pig-ignorant, the fascists and the racists.

thank-you gentlemen, you`ve just proved my point,

the UK no longer will throw billions of hard earned tax payers money every year to faceless bureaucrats in Brussels to pass on to basket case countries whose governments are clueless on how to improve their economy.
Like Wales for example?

We will spend countless billions on replicating for just the UK what already exists for the whole EU - e.g. in terms of standards agencies, medicine approvals, management of imports and exports, and goodness knows what else.

Funny nobody talks about Portugal, maybe because:

- socialist government
- anti-austerity policies with heaps of investment in infrastructure and public services

They were a corrupt basket case economy not long out of a military dictatorship "government". A country that went down hard in 2008 and is now on the up and up. Almost 100% renewable energy, now that must help balance of paiements! A country where economic migration is slowly reversing and the government is working on incentives to get the educated youth to come home to take up jobs that they currently can't find candidates for!
