I am entirely laptop based these days presumably an external ssd drive would fit the bill, though I would have to get around the problem that it will not boot from an external drive or cd.

Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
It would be easier just to swap the drive. If it’s anything like my old ThinkPad, you simply open the drive bay on the bottom, one screw, pull the old hdd out and push a ssd in. Put the cover back on and the jobs a good un. You must reinstall the os of course.

If you use the ssd externally, read / write speeds are likely to be slower, but you could install the new os or clone your hdd that way. It’s worth doing for the performance gain. It will be like your laptop has voted for Brexit, everything will be better, things will be turbo-charged and the goodness will flow onto your screen.

Theresa May has indicated she will fight a proposal to give residency rights to EU citizens during the transition period after Brexit.

She said there had to be a difference between those arriving after the UK leaves and those who came before.

She also sought to reassure Tory MPs worried about the length of transition.

The European Parliament's Brexit lead, Guy Verhofstadt, responded by telling The Guardian: "Citizens' rights during the transition is not negotiable."

So it isn't a transition after all, it's Cake and Eat it time!
Imagine trying to negotiate with May and co, when they go away from the meeting and invert everything agreed there to placate the dangerous lunatic fringe of Brexiteers in the Tory Party.

If I was on the EU negotiating team, I would just end the meeting and quote Groucho

Why are the lunatic fringe of the Tory party not being told to wind their necks in?

T.May is perfectly correct in that there will be a difference between EU citizens coming to the UK before and after the transition. But not in a good way. Why would self respecting EU citizens, whose rights are respected in 27 countries choose to go to another country, where it is starkly evident that they will be disrespected and discriminated against?.. Don't affect the Irish of course , because we have the common travel area, the Irish act of 1922, the Anglo Irish agreement, and we are well innured to discrimination

That was an eye opener for a young kiwi lad arriving in London all those years ago, I never have understood the discrimination against the Irish.

I never have understood the discrimination against the Irish.
They be furriners!

Actually the cruellest set of jokes about Irishmen that I ever heard was from an Irish barman in London. And no, I won't repeat them.

Oh all right then, just the mildest one:

"What's the cruellest thing you can do to an Irishman?"

"Kick his shovel away."

What does corruption look like? Well, graft come in various shapes and sizes but the biggest examples have always been the province of the tory party.

Now, how does this sound?

"Senior Conservative ministers including Sajid Javid, Andrea Leadsom, Penny Mordaunt and David Gauke have used taxpayers’ cash to fund the hard-Brexit European Research Group (ERG), which is now led by Rees-Mogg MP, who has been accused in recent days of trying to undermine Prime Minister Theresa May and oust her Chancellor, Philip Hammond.
The ministers have funded this lobby group (through their expense claims) whilst holding posts in government – despite the ministerial code prohibiting ministers from becoming “associated with non-public organisations whose objectives may in any degree conflict with government policy”."

Here is a story that actually appeared in a Dublin Newspaper.

"The Garda announce that one of their unmarked cars has been stolen.
They are not issuing a description as they don't want criminals to know what it looks like."

My Wife who is actually Irish read that out to me and said what's funny about that? when I laughed.

Your wife with her quantum mechanical celtic brain had immediately sussed out all the possibilities and could see..
1.We have more than one thief in ireland
2.The Gardai being part of a beurocratic organisation will have a fleet of such cars , same brand, same mods, and maybe same colour
3. The penny pinching civil servants in the DoJ wouldnt spring for even a paint job....

...sorry the pesky autocorrect struck again. .. what I think I was trying to say that in travelling the miserable dark dangerous road between Lurgan and Lisburn , I was thinking how with such roads you are not being well served... These are your major population areas and highly loyalist as well, so if the state cannot get the roads right in those areas well.....

An example of someone unwittingly telling the truth for the Wrong reasons in the Telegraph
"
Without fundamental economic change, those doom-laden Brexit forecasts will become reality
Jeremy Warner"

Does he really imagine fundamental change will do anything other than stir up trouble in the streets , they way that the Tory party will bring it in?
And another clown opined
"
Yes, Brexit will test our economic fitness, but we can emerge healthier
Ryan Bourne"

Apart from this constituting an admission things will get worse, I suspect the majority of the Public don't really see why "Their Economic Fitness" should be put at risk and be tested.

And just who are the "WE"?

How to destroy any hope of Negotiating with the EU
From the Express
"
Bumper Brexit trade deal worth £9bn and 2,500 jobs signed by Theresa May on China visit
THERESA May has signed a bumper trade deal with China worth millions in massive Brexit boost that shows “demand for British goods”, the UK government has revealed.
By Taryn Tarrant-Cornish.

There are lies, Damned lies and Tory integrity over agreements made(they haven't any of course)

She really doesn't comprehend our position at all does she?
Cake and eaten it time!
If the EU trust her again they need their heads examined.
And in the Guardian
"
Friday briefing: China thanks May for hitting mute button on rights
State media says PM ‘sidestepped’ issues in favour of pragmatism

by Warren Murray

Well , considering the Tory attitude to Human rights she would hardly be in a position to do so, would she? by the way the word "Pragmatism" should be corrected to "profit"
And the deals are illegal too under EU agreed law that applies to us.

the deals that TM and her team sign in China are ordinary trade deals (like purchase orders), not the kind of 'trade deals' forbidden by EU treaties.
Apparently, our government is looking at EFTA for a possible model of customs union.
