But why would anyone here want to be free of the ECJ? Can anyone give me a single instance of the ECJ ever harming a UK citizen or resident?
you don't, I understand that, but I also understand those who voted to be rid of the ECJ on the basis of their principles.

Our balance of trade with the EU post Brexit could be awful for us.
not from the tax income point of view.
You need to see the point about erecting trade barriers. There are always winners and losers. The lack of barriers tends to benefit all in the long run but in short term, importers are winners, domestic producers and the Treasury are losers.

What sort of principles are they that support the denial of the rights of UK citizens, granted by the ECJ when they overruled draconian UK laws.

For example, dishonourable discharges of decorated long serving UK forces personnel, solely because they were gay.

All of these things can be legislated for entirely without the ECJ and there are plenty of people who do not care for the role of the ECJ.

As I said in one previous post, the question asked of the voters was what they wish for, a choice out of two. Would you like not to pay in? Would you like to be free of the ECJ? There was no need to think further than that.
Brexit has to run its course because that was the rule of the game, and the majority would still like to see what will pan out from brexit. However, this time, everyone will take into account not only what they wish for but also any hidden cost to them personally that comes with real brexit.
I, for one, will accept soft brexit. A gradual change.
And to hell with the Human rights of the population, the NHS and the Environment, eh?

Tell me WHY?

You amaze me! Can isn't good enough, the UK government vigorously opposed the entirely just measure I quoted. That's why we need the ECJ protection, against our uncaring and oppressive governments.

Without it we we will lose in many ways, knowing as we do that the government intends to scrap our UK produced Human Rights Act and replace it with a Bill of Rights. The true reason for doing that is to post legalise the three illegal laws introduced in 1994, 1996 and 2003, which has placed them in conflict with our courts ever since.

Do you honestly believe that what happened in our recent History where Human rights were and have been reduced year on year in this country will not continue?
They are doing it now and the Voters and even Parliament are unaware of what is being done with the "Great Repeal Bill"

Where were human rights of all those kids groomed and raped ...Rotherham and Rochdale were tip of iceberg, Sarah Champion speaks out about it and our socially minded labour leader makes her resign. Its a scandal and one of reasons its been allowed to happen is fact we all live in fear of being called racist..

All the fault of UK institutions who didn't use the law to protect them, I'm speaking of the police, social services, schools, local and national governments. It's not an EU issue, many other EU countries are streets ahead of us in child protection and always have been.

I think the point is that white british people aren't exactly guilt free when it comes to raping and grooming kids, so yes if you try to single out a race for being "the problem" then that is by very definition racist.

I remember a certain Welsh rock star being jailed a couple of years ago for worse, and I don't remember the Welsh, or indeed rock stars being seen as a problem.

The problem is evil men (generally) although some women are enablers.

Race has bugger all to do with it.

You are undoubtedly right Flecc but many people contribute to the ethos surrounding racism. Sarah Champion is another victim of speaking the truth and then having to prove she isn't racist. Authorities are frightened of being accused of it, you yourself have grumlbled about institutional racism in the police, all that and every unwarranted accusation of racism is exactly what these gangs of Muslims have been hiding behind. Its a social disgrace, the systems were in place to protect at risk youths. They were simply not implemented.

OG
Ofcourse this behaviour is not unique to only these gangs but this was specifically the case Sarah Champion was speaking of.
There is a cultural/ religious aspect involved, where the criminals involved already think white girls are doomed anyhow...so any behaviour they force on them is of no consequence..

You do realise there are men / women from that culture and religion, who don't think that. Therefore it can't be cultural or religious... they are just evil nut jobs and you thinking its to do with their culture or religion is I'm afraid basically ignorant at best, racist at worst.

You are doing exactly what helps create the problem. I am neither ignorant of what's going on or racist.
You need to do some research about the constitution of these gangs, their backgrounds and beliefs. Yes, accepted they do not represent the whole community but do hide behind bith our fear of racism and a perversion of Muslim faith. Speak to some Asians, Pakistanis. They are far more judgemental and will tell you exactly the explanation I offered.
Saying things as they are is not racist. The groups are " brown" Muslims of Asian,Pakistani and around 98% Muslim ( a few Seiks)
In no way do I assume this behaviour normal for any culture, but the perversion of Muslim beliefs by the gangs ( with regard to females being owned and all non believers destined for oblivion) is part of a larger cultural problem.
Sarah Champion was trying to open this very debate, stated the truth and gets sacked.???( ok, resigned, under advice)
They are evil nut jobs using a perversion of faith and hiding behind societies aversion to discussing racial issues.
Calling someone a racist is ignorant at best , especially so when you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

It now transpires that she resigned as a minister and wasn't sacked. Savid Javid was wrong when he assumed she had been after hearing of her departure.

.
She was pushed flecc.( but Iii said resigned in post 18924)

" Aubrey Allegretti, Political Reporter

A Labour MP has resigned from the shadow cabinet after saying Britain has "a problem with British Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls".

Sarah Champion, shadow women and equalities minister, apologised for the "extremely poor choice of words" which appeared in a column in The Sun newspaper on Friday.

The MP for Rotherham's piece was headlined: "British Pakistani men ARE raping and exploiting white girls... and it's time we faced up to it."

Her remarks came just days after 18 people were convicted or admitted offences in a series of court hearings related to child sexual exploitation in Newcastle.

Ms Champion wrote: "Britain has a problem with British-Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls.

"There. I said it. Does that make me a racist? Or am I just prepared to call out this horrifying problem for what it is?

"For too long we have ignored the race of these abusers and, worse, tried to cover it up.

"No more. These people are predators and the common denominator is their ethnic heritage."

In stepping down, she said she was doing so "with regret".

Corbyn said he accepted her resignation but added: "I look forward to working together in the future."

Ms Champion said: "I apologise for the offence caused by the extremely poor choice of words in The Sun article on Friday.

"I am concerned that my continued position in the shadow cabinet would distract from the crucial issues around child protection, which I have campaigned on my entire political career.

"It is therefore with regret that I tender my resignation as shadow secretary of state for women and equalities"

You don't resign with regret without persuasion??? JC could have shown a spine and refused her resignation, but he cant. Wonder why?

Calling someone a racist is ignorant at best , especially so when you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
So I have to ask, how does a person become Qualified to call another racist?
And conversely become qualified to tell them they haven't a clue and are ignorant on the subject?
Is this an "A" level qualification, or is something more exotic required?
Here is a link to what purports to be a guide
http://www.wikihow.com/Tell-if-You-Are-a-Racist
Unfortunately the very first entry is this
"
1 See if you think some races are better or worse than others. The belief that some races are superior while others are inferior is the foundation of racism. If you believe deep down that the race you belong to (or one you don't belong to) has qualities that make it better than other races, that is racist thinking. Be honest with yourself about what you believe."

Now where have I seen that sort of logic recently?

He couldn't because what she said was inexcusable, especially coming from a minister of government.

The crucial word missing from what she said was "some", though even that would barely be sufficient. Far better to say "Some elements in the male Pakistani community are - - - - - -", because they were but a very tiny minority.

An essential tool in any politician's vocabulary is diplomacy, and her lack of that was so serious that she couldn't continue as a minister. If she hadn't resigned there would have been many calls for her to be sacked, so her resignation was opportune.

You seem to have some kind of infatuation regarding responding to my posts OG.
I was called a racist ( by KTM) , Tom calls everyone a racist, both these you seem quite happy with. My comment about not having a clue was a direct answer to the accusation of my being ignorant and or racist.
On both counts he is clueless, he has never met me,knows nothing about me.
Fact is Sarah Champion said it as it is, yes her choice of words was poor.
Asian/ Pakistani/ Muslim gangs are preying on white at risk underage females in many of our towns.
The police have known about it, child protection agencies knew about it. In many instances children were ignored. ( totally against child protection laws in force)
The main reason much was ignored was in intrrests of race relations. Are you defending that OG ?
Sarah Champion resigning will not stop any children being targeted, the work she was doing might have. What is our governments priority ( and JC's) Being PC or protecting the innocent.
Sarah Champion might have upset a few individuals, what she was trying to do might save a few lives. And to be fair the Asians/ Pakistanis / Muslims I know were in total agreement with her. As were the ( Asian) guests on radio this am.
Its middle class do gooders sat at their computers with nothing better to do who get all offended when folk say it as it is.
Pakistani gangs are targeting young females. UK does have a problem. Both facts.
Rochdale. Rotherham. Oxford. Newcastle. Where next ???
Don't think for a moment your town is not involved. Chances are it is.
