It was a question with no good answer. It was reflective of wooshes closed mind insult.
Just because we don't follow the crowd you have nasturtiums cast upon your character.

'oldtom' didn't say that at all - you seem to have more issues than I thought previously.

Tom

OK, oldtom has a closed mind.

Great comical comment there!

""Sir James Dyson, the billionaire investor, has said he is "enormously optimistic" about Britain's prospects outside the EU and believes that the UK has nothing to fear from a hard Brexit.

This wouldn't be the same Dyson that makes the Vacuum cleaners that Which Magazine rated as having the poorest design and manufacture standards with the worst complaints and customer care records would it?
And who moved manufacturing from the UK to Singapore?

What would that idiot with his badly designed, overpriced and unreliable
gimmicky products made in Singapore have to offer as advice on Brexit, other than the fact that he took the hint and moved production to the Far east?
Are all Brexit voters as detached from reality as you appear to be?
:p:p:p:p
Really? I just went over to Which - and there you will find a Dyson vac comes 4th overall in their best buy category.

"Dyson have cracked it with this upright model and it is a Best Buy. It is fantastic at picking up dust from carpets and floorboards, good on laminates, perfect for allergy sufferers and energy efficient, too."

Which? verdict

Awesome upright 80% (top score was 82% btw)

LAUNCHED -TESTED NOVEMBER 2014

The Dyson DC40 Multi Floor is an upright bagless vacuum cleaner that makes big promises about its cleaning performance and how easy it is to use. We put this Dyson vacuum cleaner through our rigorous tests to bring you our independent verdict on how well it will suck up dirt when you get it home."

Just two more days! Then we're out!

Darn its good to be alive.

Not so sure, it was a celebration of unity, so her presence would have been as a wet blanket. We aren't an example of unity in EU terms, and never have been.
.
... Well one still invites the dotty aunt and the alcoholic uncle to the family wedding, at least in my country we do.

So you accept that Greece should not have joined the Eurozone on economic ground.
I can accept that the EU is more than about the money.
the EU project takes away power from state governments and moves it to the EU government.
Possible reason for that is the power is seen as not safe if left in the hand of state governments. They would start a new war. But would they really? The early members were already members of NATO.
You may like it but a little more than half of the UK doesn't. Democracy is good when it suits you, isn't it?
... For me democracy suits me well enough when I concur and sufficiently well when it doesn't.

What we can be sure of is that some deal or other will be cooked up and presented as a wonderful opportunity and a triumph against the evil and corrupt EU.
The press will have a field day.
The Rich will then get richer
The poor will then get poorer

Those who get poorer will remember that while they voted to leave the EU and lets face it they will be reminded they did till they get sick of hearing it, what they were expecting wasn't what they got.

As usual they Government will try and blame the EU, then the voters themselves, and when that fails will find an external villain to blame.
Then they can divert public rage from themselves playing the "patriotic little UK against the world card" and invoke the Dunkirk spirit.
It's a downhill spiral all the way.

History tell us very clearly what happens next.

In the Telegraph today they are already calling for such things as the repeal of the EU working time directive
Back to the good old days of unlimited working hours!
And just think of all the other things like Holiday that can be reduced , with any luck they will bring back all those agricultural practices using banned insecticides that poison the food, and allow the North Sea to be fished out as is was before.
The joys of Brexit!
And all because of an advisory referendum.

Just as an aside from the main thrust of this thread, for many years I was an avid reader (member) of the Consumers' Association publication, 'Which' magazine.

I had a piece of legal business for which I required a very specific document so I spoke to the 'Which' legal department and they provided me, at a cost, with a document which they assured me was tailor-made for my situation.

Subsequently, I discovered that the document was entirely worthless and not fit for the purpose intended. I then instructed a local notary who got the job done for me but it cost be ten times what I paid 'Which'.

I shan't bore readers with the rest of the tale but during my investigations while attempting to seek redress from 'Which', I learned quite a bit about how the firm operates and it isn't the upright guardian and people's champion we understand it to be. If I say more, they might wish to initiate proceedings but I can say that I will never trust them again and I would suggest other people consider very carefully before using their legal services.

Sir John Major secured a British opt-out on the Working Time Directive when it was drawn up in 1993 as part of the Maastricht Treaty.

It guarantees terms such as a maximum 48 hour week and four weeks’ paid holiday per year, plus rules on the number of hours of rest for shift workers.

However, Mr Blair then opted into the directive in 1998, with the compromise that workers could individually volunteer to be excluded from the 48-hour rule.

thus no going back.

Sorry but that's nonsense, what about the workers who don't want to volunteer?

You really are not a happy camper! Come on my old-groaner cheer up for goodness sake. Oxygen levels are good - well they are here - try breathing in and seeing what they're like where you are. They good? Good. How about gravity? Is that working where you are? To test it try this: Pick up a small object - maybe 10 inches off the ground. Now let go. What happened? Did it fall? Yes? Great that means gravity is working fine where you are (if its still floating where you let it go that's something else). One final test to see if the basics for a good life are possible: Take a look around you - at a distant object in the room. OK. Now. Does it appear in 3D? Do the objects appear three dimensional? They do? And you're not having to wear those funny glasses like they give you in the movies? Super smashing great that means the basic space-time functionality of the universe is fine where you are too. This really is good news.

Excellent. This probably means Dyson are in fact a great company and Old Groaner will now completely change his mind about Brexit!

The news just keeps getting better.

If you can keep your head when disaster looms,
It's clear you have no idea of the seriousness of the situation, but don't worry!
