Really? what leads you to that conclusion? they have lied through their teeth and got away with it regularly in the past, why should that change?
The tories got their majority because of labour brexit voters.
Remember when everyone agreed with Nick? The LibDems won seats because the same group of people wanted to give labour a good kicking. Five years later, it was the turn of the LibDems to get a good kicking. Next time, they will have no use for Mrs May.

Trump's people put out this:

View attachment 17649

A woman who was in Paris at the time said this:

Dear Mr Trump,

thank you for your concern.

A man has indeed attacked a soldier with two machetes this morning in Paris.

It wasn't in the Louvre Museum, it was in the Carrousel du Louvre, which is a mall. (Less symbolic than what you're implying.)

He didn't attack any tourist (or french people -apart from the soldier- either, by the way, thank you again for your concern) and he was instantly attacked back by another soldier, and wounded.

The crowd has been kept inside after that by order of the army for security reasons, but not for any kind of hostage situation. (Your tweet is -voluntarily?- ambiguous)

France is not on edge again, at all. I learnt about the attack 10 hours after it happened (even though it was in the media earlier), and I spent 1h30 in another mall in Paris at lunch today without any kind of military reinforcement (I mean, just the usual since Charlie Hebdo or nov 2015 attacks).

Oh and by the way, the man is from Egypt, you know, the country you didn't ban from entering the US (because of your personnal affairs?)

Again, thank you for your concern, but don't use France as an excuse for your arseholery. You're the one encouraging fear with your distortion of truth.

Regards,

Egie Wild

PS : GET SMART U.S. : Don't believe anything that he says without checking facts first.

You decide which version you prefer.

Take my post as a rant if you wish, I do not have an issue with that. To make accusations of ranting is the usual fall back position for people such as you.

Your sentence in the original post does not read in the same way as your example regarding the football stadium. There is no parallel to be drawn.

I'm sure there is an outreach community project for people with poor writing skills in your area. Perhaps you should look them up?

1/10 from an idiot of zero consequence to me? Boo hoo.
My sentence is written in the same way as the example, exactly the same way. Your reading it differently because you're attaching emotion and taking offense at it, because you are feeling that UKIP voters are being lumped into the same category as xenophobes. When actually, its the other way round, I'm saying most xenophobes will vote UKIP, not most UKIP voters are xenophobes.

...and I'll take the suggestion of an outreach project with the humour its intended, because clearly you have no idea of my professional qualifications and my ability, based simply on comments on a forum.

Plaid Cymru not happy at the moment.

"Tonight Westminster voted AGAINST a Plaid Cymru amendment that would have ensured that Wales did not lose any money as a result of Brexit, in accordance to a promise made by the Leave campaign.

During the debate that was specifically supposed to be about the effect of Brexit on the devolved nations, MPs representing constituencies in England rose to their feet one after another to speak against keeping this promise to Wales, including former Secretary of State John Redwood, whose 'contribution' you can watch in this video."

How they hell they didn't see this coming, when literally EVERYONE was telling the poorer areas of the UK that they'd loose funding is beyond me??

Suggesting xenophobes are more likely to vote UKIP is a pointless statement apart from inflaming situation.
Are football hooligans more likely to vote labour or murdererers tory ?
The insinuation is to make a link between UKIP and xenophobia, then and OG /Tom agree and next thing xenophobia is fascism.
Just leave out the opinionated links.
IMHO bigots are more likely to vote labour but so what ?

Just another case where the Brexit carrot blocks the view of the blinkered voters that approved the idea.

After all everyone should know that if something sounds too good to be true it generally is, and that describes Brexit entirely.
less believable than a Harry Potter movie and far less entertaining.

Thank you for that, it's always good to hear from someone who is an expert in the field he is pronouncing on.
Discounting of course that the fact that that view might not be the same as the last time it was expressed by the same person.
As in I did/I didn't vote leave in the Referendum, and "we Leave voters"?

I would argue its not a pointless statement. I follow the likes of UKIP, Britain First etc on twitter and facebook, and I can assure you every xenophobe who posts on there (that's me being polite) is proud to support UKIP.

I'm not saying that just because you support UKIP, you're a racist. But clearly you have to agree that a % of the support for the party comes from this element of society.

Its not even a controversial statement, because I'm not saying 90% of the party are racists, for example. I'm just saying that if you are a racist / xenophone its likely you'll support UKIP and Trump. Its of course possible you'll be tory or anything else, I'm just saying.. if you follow the posts on the far right wing you'll find if the post is racist, the person will support UKIP.

Just look at the shocking things that were said to David Lammy yesterday, follow the trail of the people who said them and it comes back to people who support UKIP.

You can't get a machete into the Louvre museum because they have metal detectors. You can't get a pocket knife into the Louvre because they don't want tourists cutting up the canvas...

The Egyptian, living in the Emirates (not banned by Trump in either case) isn't feeling very well having received 5 bullets from an automatic weapon in the stomach.

CNN reports: "No person accepted to the United States as a refugee, Syrian or otherwise, has been implicated in a major fatal terrorist attack since the Refugee Act of 1980".

I have just been asked to explain the 19% increase in the price of a KTM Macina Sport CX5+ from 2016 - 2017, by a member of the public.

I thought some of you might like to see the reply.

"There are some tiny differences in the spec, for instance the brakes are the new M8000 series XT ones, so there is a small amount of adjustment there.

The new frames do cost a bit more, there is a lot of work that goes into the new shape, so that does account for some of the increase.

However there is a large increase because of the exchange rate risks.

Back in June 2015 when the 2016 price was set, we were looking at converting the € price to £s on an exchange rate of £1.00 = €1.39

We delayed and delayed issuing the 2017 prices last summer, but it had already dropped to €1.20 to the £

It was also predicted to get worse, which has proven to be the case, the price is set for 12 months, so we had to plan in a safety margin.

So that's pretty much a 14% increase at cost price, just moving the bike into the UK.

In addition the € dropped quite a bit against the $ and the swiss frank where KTM buy a lot of their component parts from, so that meant KTM's cost price also went up.

So, yes the £700 increase is just over 19%... so actually I'm afraid less than it should be.

We've halved our margin on eBikes to allow us to keep the RRP from going up any more this season.

God only knows what will happen to the RRPs in 2018 if we trigger A50 and leave the single market as is currently planned.

The only saving grace for us is that we are not alone, pretty much everything in cycling is imported, so the price rises are effecting EVERYTHING.

Also, you've got to factor in the fact that all our business costs have gone up, fuel, couriers basically everything FLi pays out has gone up because of the decrease in the value of the £. So not only have we halved our margin to keep the price low, we've also found our expenses have gone up. So I think more price rises will be fed into the system at some point.

Its not good, we're making less money, working harder and you, the end consumer ends up paying a lot more for the same thing."

Its your reaction the idiotic pathetic poster craves. If such comments were given the attention they deserved and treated with contempt rather than sensationalism the fools would have no soap box . They do it for reaction and in hope they will detract from the actual message. I,m not saying we should merely ignore it, but we certainly should not generalise.
Its high time twitter,Facebook and to an extent even this forum should take some responsibility. The post should not even reach publication, the poster should be banned, as should any promoting bigotry, racism or threat.
Unfortunately we live in a time where the number of hits is king. If the comment generates traffic its fine. We have seen it on here and its encouraged. Our criticism should be at the systems that allow it, well actually promote it.

I'm glad that I'm retired and not in the position of having to justify problems caused by the foolishness of others to my paying customers.

There should be a Government leaflet explaining that this extra cost will be offset by the guaranteed wondrous benefits our Post Brexit Future will confer,

If we let it fester and don't call it out and show that these opinions are out there, they aren't going to go away. We have to show that this is the view of a number of people in this country and we have to acknowledge it. If its underground, its more dangerous and people like poor Jo Cox are the ones that suffer.

These dangerous people exist and I'm afraid in pretty much all cases they voted for Brexit, which damages the case of people who are pro Brexit who might have very good reasons (not that I've heard one yet!)

And yet another example from OG...
Brexit voters are fools...
Its second nature to just insult and forum, media simply accept it, until we reach level KTM posted an example of...

I actually totally agree with your stance KTM, but where do we start... Just read posts on here...

There is no way on earth half of insult, prejudiced, racism , bigotry would be tolerated in a pub, face to face...but on here ( and internet in general) its acceptable..or some think it is...

From many there is a total lack of respect for others opinions and an attitude where its perfectly ok to insult, call names and make sweeping generalisations.. Its demonstrated continually on here.

And I agree , those people you mention are dangerous but so are the other extremes...the ones at other end of spectrum. Those setting themselves up as championing their own bigoted stance, those bringing in fascist arguments, those throwing words around such is xenophobia, racist etc etc..
And BTW how do you know the idiot you gave example of is not merely discrediting UKIP from stance of other extreme. ???? You simply do not know, its all so anonymous??

I just hope that we dont end up a very expensive country like Norway,Switzerland and Iceland. All the 'treats' in those countries are just so expensive, most UK people can have a meal out occassionally, but only the rich will be able to afford the way things are going.
I have just finished putting together my annual China working trip,it cost over 30% more than a similar trip last year.....China used to be a cheap country to travel to and travel within but the RMB seems to be tandem with the US dollar, internal airline flights and hotels have pretty much doubled in price.
We are told that post Brexit we are going to be free to grasp the opportunities of the world, that is if we can afford to chase those opportunities.

So now you show you don't know the difference between pointing out that an act is foolish and calling someone a fool?
And can't see that your posts are usually insulting in nature.?

Its the opinion of many that people who voted for Brexit are fools. Just look at Cornwall and Wales... they voted to leave, and are now realising that "project fear" was correct. If you leave you'll be worse off, a lot worse off.

Clearly you have a different definition of "a fool" because I'd suggest that many Brexit voters were fools. Some clearly weren't and not all are. But you have to admit, some Brexit voters were racist, and some were fools. You can't argue with that statement.

I dont see why at the end of May's EU negotiations there should not be 3 way parliament free vote....
1. Accept the deal that May has achieved.
2. Reject the deal and just split with no deal.
3. Stay in the EU,if May cannot negotiate a good deal.
That surely is democracy in action.
KudosDave
