Perhaps Gove worked it out for them, he is after all amazing at sums, remember when he was responsible for Education his aim was to make "All Schools above Average"
I kept missing the funny button because of the chuckle you caused.

Thanks for your comments Tom, OG, Flecc & Zlatan. What I wanted to do was to stand back from the "I'm right, you're wrong" sort of dialogue (though that has it's place) and see the whole thing as a badly mismanaged process - which is what it is. If the referendum had been a research question....no researcher would have claimed the result as conclusive either way without further investigation. The Radio 4 programme "More or Less" ran an article the other week on the stats behind the referendum result which showed a much more nuanced picture than we are led to believe. Anyway, that's my lot for now. Nice day here, so going out for a walk. By the way...found Mrs May's £900 trousers gross to put it mildly.

I cannot believe that I am in agreement with Ken 'the red' Livingston,he criticised Labour for not being an effective opposition to this right wing Tory government.
His opinion, that I agree with,is that we are going to come out of Brexit with a very bad deal. He thinks that Labour should be more decisive and commit to making staying in the single market as a Labour policy even though that may not be achievable with immigration control, but after all that is the government in power problem.
At the moment Labour is not appearing to be the party of the working people,Hammonds pro business budget should have been wonderful ammunition for Labour to shoot back at the Tories but they hardly mentioned it. Labour voters in the poor areas are being hoodwinked by this government but they haven't realised that this government is even more austere than Osborne.
Ken had a good idea, that I have suggested before, that companies like Starbucks and Google should have a revenue tax if they appear to move income to low tax areas.

Yep, certainly strange times when I find myself agreeing with some things Katie Hopkins says and some Ken Livingstone and some Jacob Rees Mogg says !!!!
Would be easier to be biased and single minded ????

The Express must be getting desperate to stoop to this sort of invective
"
40 rebel MPs demand soft Brexit as Theresa May goes to war with anti-Brexit 'BA***RDS'
THERESA May has declared war on a band of troublemaking MPs who plan to form an anti-Brexit backbench group.
...................................................
And the Daily Mail is trying to drum up sympathy by publishing this

Then rubbishing the result of the poll
Naturally this suits it's readership who wish to wear hair shirts and suffer self Flagelation in the holy cause of keeping "Johnny Foreigners" out to judge by their comments.
...................
A rather odd thing is that there isn't a "Don't know" column as usual, perhaps the pollsters have concluded that even those of the population with poor decision making capabilities must surely have learned enough about what is going on to pick a side by now?

Excuse me! Going for a walk on a pedelec forum. That will get some comments.
I think we have an "Environmental Fundamentalist" on our hands, he hasn't realised that if we were meant to walk we would have been born with wheels.

Homeoz isn't alone, I prefer walking to cycling and always have done, even in my 5000 cycling miles a year days.

I'm a nature lover, and the faster one goes, the less one sees. I sometimes even stand still in one likely spot for extended periods to see what turns up, and it can be surprising how much more can be seen that way.

The European Union
"For years, conservatives have been telling us that a healthy business-friendly economy depends on low taxes, few regulations, and low wages. Are they right?

We’ve had an experiment going on here in the United States that provides an answer.

At the one end of the scale are Kansas and Texas, with among the nation’s lowest taxes, least regulations, and lowest wages.

At the other end is California, featuring among the nation’s highest taxes, especially on the wealthy; lots of regulations, particularly when it comes to the environment; and high wages.

So according to conservative doctrine, Kansas and Texas ought to be booming, and California ought to be in the pits.

Actually, it’s just the opposite."

The above is from http://robertreich.org/ and sums up the current situation quite nicely: Brexit = Kansas and Texas, the EU = California

My problem is with "Dorothy red shoes" Fillon who dreams France was Kansas too...

I feel for the French electorate. They will likely have to choose between Fillon, Le Pen or Valls. all defective choices.

All quiet of the Brexit front for once in the Daily Mail, with just a little about Mrs May sorting out the MPs born out of Wedlock on the front page.
The Express is it's usual self, but there's reassuring news from America in the Independent.
"
Donald Trump says he doesn't need daily intelligence briefings as President because he's 'smart'
The president-elect tells Fox News Sunday his generals are briefed more frequently"

I am so relieved to hear that, and completely reassured.
And this too
"
Donald Trump thanks African-Americans for not voting in US presidential election
President-elect says voters who stayed at home did so because 'they felt good about me'"

Suddenly our own Politicians seem not so bad after all! isn't that a truly breathtaking view on reality?

First time I've been called an environmental fundamentalist. Feel quite flattered! Walking is the new cycling.....etc, etc.

There is a rumour that Theresa May is considering calling a snap election in February if she loses the supreme court challenge.
There are 16 million reasons (maybe more now) that may not be a good idea.
The court case in Ireland about staying in the single market and also whether A50 is reversible and the Scots and the Lords threatening to block A50 must be causing May so much grief, maybe she wants a bigger mandate or out?
KudosDave

But she represents a constituency that voted remain, so she'd be putting her own head on the block... which would be a big risk.
