I don't think it will take that long to find out. We already know what EU membership is like. We only have to experience brexit - by the 2022 GE, we may even see labour portraying themselves as the brexit party and the tories the europhile party.
Obviously with age comes wisdom .Found on Twitter this morning.
Welcome to the issue that will tear Britain apart for years to come... Source: Latest YouGov May 9-10
haha, wisdom, or more likely simply not understanding the modern world in which they find themselves.Obviously with age comes wisdom .
But in 20 years time there'll be the "rosy specs" effect, the natural tendency to view the past in unduly favourable terms.I don't think it will take that long to find out. We already know what EU membership is like.
Or dementia.Obviously with age comes wisdom .
You,ve obviously never worked with the young...haha, wisdom, or more likely simply not understanding the modern world in which they find themselves.
lol... you do realise I was a teacherYou,ve obviously never worked with the young...
Wrong final conclusion, they wanted to remain for the business advantages from which their class profit.this same government was only a few months ago campaigning to stay in EU..the likes of Osborn, Cameron and even May said all sorts of things to scare folk away from leaving...
They wanted us to stay in EU...the fact a tory government wants us to stay should tell us the EU has no control at all over tory ambitions.
Obviously with age comes wisdom .
in my case, my wife thinks most certainly dementia.Or dementia.
.
The real concern should be cancelling Brexit and getting the Torys out.Think one of few things we can agree on ( all of us?) is the terrible decline in the impartiality of mass media.
The whole lot is biased one way or another.
The Daily Mails's coverage of Corbyn today is shocking...
Don't forget tho not that long ago this same paper was extolling all the garbage from Osborne...as fact..
Its biased towards tories who want out of EU...last year it was biased towards Tories keeping us in.
It does not care wether we are in or out, it just supports Tories...
Even for Daily Mail EU is a side issue...as it should be for us. The real concern should be outing Tories and getting Labour in..
19th Century will the place in the world we find for ourselves, and as a colonial not Imperial Nation too.you mean as they get older, they become more eurosceptics?
just joking.
we need brexit to find out our place in the world in the 21st century.
Apparently wisdom came to some of us, why did you miss out?Obviously with age comes wisdom .
Exactly...case answered my lord.So was I.lol... you do realise I was a teacher
Its not me voting for Farron OG..Apparently wisdom came to some of us, why did you miss out?
What case?Exactly...case answered my lord.So was I.
.. I think that that is a very good question and as an outsider and therefore further from the action my take is..A serious and not leading question I,d like to ask is remainers is this ..
Our government has repeatedly shown itself to be uncaring towards workers, this thread is now full of examples from Tom, OG , myself and others. Yet this same government was only a few months ago campaigning to stay in EU..the likes of Osborn, Cameron and even May said all sorts of things to scare folk away from leaving...Does that not start alarm bells ringing in the socially minded remainers ?
They wanted us to stay in EU...the fact a tory government wants us to stay should tell us the EU has no control at all over tory ambitions.
Good answer..again. You should be a lawyer... I think that that is a very good question and as an outsider and therefore further from the action my take is..
1. The Cameron government introduced the referendum in order to flush out ukip sensitivity, but this blew up in their faces.
2. Events create their own momentum, and the new faces in UK government have risen to their positions on foot of a promise to instigate a Brexit.
3. Some within the monied conservative establishment now see advantages which they may not previously have expected or even hoped for. . The jewel as they might see it is removing the ECJ as a final arbitrator.
In your final statement you say that the EU has no control on whether the UK elects a Tory government. I totally agree, the form of national governments is the responsibility of their national electorate, were it otherwise the complaint about no control and faceless beurocrates would have had validity.
Precisely! Its not me voting for Farron OG..
