What has always concerned me about her is the motivation. What is it that has brought about such a radical change?
She's being reading your posts.

I love these statistics. Who did they ask? Let's assume that they asked random people from all over the UK. There's 70% more people in London than the whole of Scotland, or there's 10 times as many in England as in Scotland. What answer would you expect to get?

If they did the poll in Cumbernauld or Stirling, it would have shown something like 100% wanted Scotland to leave the UK and stay in Europe.

You can prove anything with statistics if you choose the right ones.

.... You can also prove anything with facts also but who uses them.?

Actually on reading that poll my conclusions were identical with yours.

The questions may be a bit skewed but I did check, the data is actually solid.
You can check it yourself here:

.. thanks for the link. Question 1 has an interesting response where the Scots were 60 40 for independence... . Many of the other detailed questions allowed for ambiguous responses .. would a person who wanted independence agree with the proposition that brexit as more important than independence. ?

The poll seemed to show that Scots were in favour of being independent but the English were against it. Why do the English care if Scotland leaves or stays?

I can remember when polls showed the English were in favour of the Scots being able to leave the UK. No idea why it should have changed, other than perhaps believing their politicians.

If they go, do you think if we ask nicely, they will take Yorkshire with them?
I don't think "The English" would object, and Yorkshire is part of Scotland after all.
I'm half Yorkshire and Half Scot, so entitled to wear either a Flat cap and kilt, or if preferred a Tam o Shanter, Braces and Baggy trousers with Wellies.
(As the occasion demands)

Yorkshire would object, they don't even think they are a part of England. They'd go for independence if they could make up their minds which part would be in charge, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire or East Riding.

That's only some of its names, also called the County of York or God's Own Country.

Maybe they should pull it all together as the Folks Republic of Yorkshire.

The EU are obviously tightening the time scale available for negotiation,
They have already said that they want 6 months at the end to conclude the deal. They have already said that they won't start talking until June 20. By my calculations that gives them/us 15 months, hardly enough time to fill the inkwells. They have also said that they need to agree the divorce bill they want from us,I can see us arguing over money for 6 months,in the middle of this is the French and German elections.
Maybe they want us to crash out on WTO rules or maybe they don't want us to leave and are making the hegotiations down to an impossibly short time scale.
It will be interesting how long the residency status of EU here and Brits in the EU,this seems to be the start of negotiations.
KudosDave
