Nicola Sturgeon is as big a nuisance as Theresa May...she is only threatening a second referendum to mess up May's Brexit plans, not because it makes any sense for Scotland.

KudosDave
OI, you leave wee stillettoes alone. She's a national treasure. ;) Getting serious though, she's got a problem. The people who voted to leave the Uk are split into 2 camps. Some voted to leave the EU some voted to remain. The people who voted to stay in the UK are also split into 2 camps, remoaner and brexiteers. So, if she holds a referendum and gets a vote to leave the Uk, she might then have to hold a referendum to leave or stay in the Eu since her indy people are split between leaving and remaining in the EU. Then the people who vote against independence but lose that referendum, some of them will want an EU referendum to see if we stay or remain. Are you confused yet? You should try living up here. :)
Anyway, it's going to be a fun time. Anyway on a more serious note. Tesco white chocolate chip muffins are still up 25% in price. If Lady Nicola promisies to bring them back down, I'll be voting to leave the UK and stay in EU....I think.

On the plus side. The guy next door is an SNP member, he voted for Independence and voted to leave the EU. I can see a year of **** taking coming up. :)

How would the cull work?
It would need to be done in the most humane manner possible.....pretty much like the political class condone for livestock at the abbatoir so first, the stun, rendering unconsciousness followed by throat slitting - that would certainly be an improvement on the HD&Q system or the axe at various venues in central London in olden times.

I'm open to sensible suggestions on this though! I actually considered transportation which seemed to work pretty well some time back but the Aussies are very strict on immigration these days so perhaps Iraq or Syria?

He caused BREXIT and nobody on here can stop it. So I wouldn't laugh too much OG. As I keep saying, never underestimate your opponents, it's fatal.
Actually he didn't cause brexit Cameron did, he was simply a festering sore to the conservatives.
Cameron should have ignored the fool.
Once Cameron was gone Farage's influence evaporated, he is an irrelevant annoyance now, his power was after all that he would steal Tory Votes
No one believes that any more.

A date that will Live in Infamy perhaps
Will this be the day to remember, or perhaps forget?

Parliament proved yesterday unfit to fulfil it's role, and effectively surrendered it's authority, so now a Junta that has taken over the country and carries entire reponsibility for what comes next.

"England that was wont to conquer others
Hath made a conquest of itself"

John of Gaunt.

I do so love a bumpy ride, all aboard!
Stop Press!
D'oh!
Cancel all that, this has turned up
"However, No 10 has squashed speculation that she could trigger Article 50 as early as tomorrow, signalling that will now happen in the last week of March.

Shades of
"The ides of March have come"
"Aye Caesar but not gone!"

Nicola Sturgeon's move may be a blessing in disguise, the only thing that may stop the tories being taken over by a small group of tory nationalists in the similar way that momentum took over the labour party.

Isn't that how the system works? One party takes votes from another party by offering something which is more appealing? That's how we arrive at a winner.

So glad you agree that Farage is a Broken Reed and has no further nuisance value.

Hague expressed an interesting point of view.
"Brexit is a nightmare, but the people voted for it and we have to deliver it"
Clearly this isn't his real view, as that would be accepting that parliament is no longer sovereign, the country is now being ruled by the result of a referendum.

Yesterday Paliament gave up the right of veto, power has passed from them. and the country is ruled a populist Junta.

We are living in a totalitarian state not a Democracy.

UKIP are a one trick pony and once BREXIT is complete they will need to learn a new trick or else they will disappear. Farage was UKIP and now he is causing mischief elsewhere, I think their popularity will decline. They need a new leader with similar appeal / charisma.

Inbreeding among the royals and the aristocracy has been rife through the centuries. It is a dangerous habit and because we understand that, we take particular care nowadays with our animal husbandry to ensure we breed good quality animals while breeding out disease, skeletal and psychological problems.

Sadly, that same care and attention has not been exercised with the human species as evidenced by the tory party and the mentally retarded who elect them to government. Cull required!

'News Thump' provides this proof, if it were required, that Ms Sturgeon is more determined than ever to save at least 5,000,000 people from the fascist lunacy project being railroaded through the Westminster parliament.

Following the sham pretence of opposition by the carefully appointed and the 90 or so 'born to it' peers who were simply being a nuisance as they have no power and absolutely nothing better to do, it is clear that the plutocracy will now do whatever they please to anyone, whenever and wherever.

This is the First Minister's new plan:

They obviously don't know what they are talking about.

Britain is England and Wales.

Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland.

The word Great in Great Britain refers to area, not status. It was added to Britain to categorise the enlarged country when Scotland joined the union. It was obviously an incorrect choice of word anyway, it should have been Greater Britain to more accurately reflect the enlargement.

Although unconnected with 'Brexit', today's news from Muirfield GC makes interesting reading. The club members have voted fairly overwhelmingly to allow women to become members.

The interesting part is that they only permit changes to their constitution and rules following a ballot with a two thirds majority. That may reflect a bit more gravitas and weighted opinion suggestive of a debate convincingly won. If only the EU referendum had required a similar majority!

Maybe someone should tell Trump that America has never been Great too? I have searched everywhere and have found no reference to "Great America"...

Not surprising, since there's no USA either. There is a USCNA, United States of Central North America.

With the exception of Alaska and Puerto Rico, the rest of the Americas doesn't belong to them.
