I wonder what things are going to look like post Brexit?

The first item to discuss after A50 is the divorce bill. Whether £30 bn on the low estimate or £50bn on the high estimate, the size of it will cause a lot of people to discuss the real cost of brexit.
If inflation continues going up 0.2% a month, it will hit 3% in 6-7 months, I reckon the whole of the civil service will go on strike for more pay before that.
Who knows what the next government is going to do.

Not a comment about the £4.5 billion loss by Rolls Royce,I am sure they were a company that May and Co were looking to export increases post Brexit,remember they did go bust,I think in the 80's.

It was in 1970 they they went broke. Since the government were desperate not to lose their only jet engine maker, they split off and restarted the aicraft engine side as the sole original Rolls Royce company.

Then a new company, Rolls Royce (1971) Ltd was formed for the car side, and they restarted with mainly foreign technology. GM Cadillac engines and automatic gearboxes and Citroen hydro-pneumatic suspension under licence. Their other brand, Bentley, disappeared for a while.

As you know Rolls Royce is now owned by BMW whose engines etc are used in today's models, Bentley now owned by Volkswagen.

Does May and Co care about the amount of the divorce bill? It seems all they are worried about is keeping themselves in power. There were a lot of concerns within the amendments tabled in the Article 50 parliament vote,yet very few MP's were brave enough to raise their concerns during the discussions.....MP's seem scared to defy Dictator May.
For me,it seemed right that parliament had a vote prior to our final offer being put before the EU,but the vote is either 'take it or leave it','no deal better than a bad deal',May is wielding a lot of power at the moment.
So whats another £50 billion on the borrowing!!! The Leavers will not question it,for remember they won! and us Remainers dont have a voice,we are told we lost so lump it .....so who is going to discuss it,I see May leading us to a place where really only the Tory right want us to go,but no MP has got the courage to speak against it,Corbyn is no opposition.
I sold a product to an ardent Leaver at a recent Auto show,it had gone up by £30.00....I asked him if he voted Leave....'sure did mate,we won'.....well then you should be pleased to pay the £30.00 quid you won and voted for it...he got quite abusive at that point.....and that is an example of what Leavers will be like post Brexit if they dont get what they expected,but wont have anyone argue against it now,its very strange politics at the moment.
By the way,after all his abuse,he still bought the product.

Speaking to Bloomberg TV on Tuesday morning Deutsche's global co-head of FX research, George Saravelos said that the bank sees sterling falling to as low as 1.05 against the dollar, as the "incredibly complicated" nature of Brexit becomes ever more clear.

These brokers often have a motive to talk down a currency,you don't think he has shorted the pound?
If prices go up another 16% then e-bikes will be pretty low on people's radar,food and fuel will be very expensive.
Companies that import a lot of 'make up' parts from US dollar sources will be in real problems,consumers will not pay for such a big price rise. Actually the EU will also be in some problems,£ 's repatriated into Euros will have little value.
Good time to sell a property abroad,exchanging Euros for £,at parity.

It rushes ahead to create huge number of laws that have to be incorporated into local laws and that will always rub a lot of people up the wrong way. Apparently, more than 20,000 laws and regulations have already been incorporated into British laws. Its relationship with its neighbouring EFTA countries is like a bully has in a small village.
The EU has to change, the sooner the better.

A federation, not a country. The United States of Europe made up of 27 countries . For the moment the regulations are concentrated on consumer protection and the environnement. The laws on protection of citizens.

I think the world only has a few bullies and I don't see the EU in that group - I would not compare it to the USA, Russia or China in that respect.

There is a good article in the Guardian about post Brexit who is going to pay for the land of milk and honey expected by many.
The article points out that the regeneration of the industrial north could be done today,Brexit is irrelevant.....except Brexit gives the Gove and Boris the best excuse why they are not spending money up north......the EU negotiators made such a bad job of Brexit that all suffered and now there is no money,it will be forgotten that 2 years previously there was no money.

if you are a true brexiter then you expect to pay a price for independence from the ECJ and the EU parliament.
The point is how much inflation would move the split from 52%-48% to 45%-55%.
