Poland has been liberated, I'm back in Blighty.

If you haven't been, you should go, I had a really interesting time there and we in the UK could learn a thing or two from them. I was particularly impressed by their younger generation, they pee all over our youngsters in terms of behaviour, professionalism and good citizenship.

I will have a read of your link. My mind is always open to information even though my conclusions are usually different to yours.
The important thing with an open mind is to have a back door that can be closed when necessary to stop the good ideas passing in the Front door, and going right through without stopping on the way out.
An open mind should not result in an empty head at the end of the process, or people with start to think you are a member of the Aristocracy.

Massive corporation tax reclaim,Notice how Hammond is quiet at the moment.....expect he is trying to juggle lower tax takes with increased spending on NHS and Social Care, plus all the costs of Brexit, desperately trying to avoid putting up NIC or Income Tax.
KudosDave
Or more likely he is waiting for the Murdoch press to launch a bitter campaign of lies that because the EU are bitter and twisted they are "Punishing" us,forcing him to make unpleasant and unpopular choices

And if anyone asks why The Government wants to be free of the European Court of Human Rights, all you have to do is point them in the direction of the Snoopers Charter.
Also their primary reason for wanting to get rid of the Human Rights Act is that it would removes almost all necessity to amend or repeal the unlawful acts I've mentioned. One of those unlawful acts though would still be unlawful under article 8 of the Geneva Convention which is fully integrated into UK law.

All this talk about the importance of trade deals but no trade deal has any relevance if we don't have products that others want to buy.
What are we doing in the UK to advance our manufacturing base when we seem happy to sacrifice our service industry?
KudosDave
Sell off the premises and machinery for scrap if bribing Foreign companies to invest and use cheap labour and materials here fails.
Good Plan, No?
After all we have been doing just that for many years!

Tillson.......my son is a pilot flying out of Gdansk, often doing the Gdansk-Stansted sectors. He tells me everyone is well behaved except when he has a stag-do party,ex UK,girls or guys!
He is really impressed by Gdansk, wonderful accommodation, friendly and hard working people,Sopot is a lovely holiday resort, the only thing he hates is the current bitterly cold weather.
KudosDave
Yes, agree entirely. I saw a few stag / hen groups when I was in Krakow for a couple of days. They were a disgrace.

The flight out and back was full and I would guess 90% were Polish citizens. I have never been a passenger on a flight with such an orderly and well behaved group of people. Mostly young people.

I get the impression they work in the UK for a week and then live like Royalty for a month back in Poland on the proceeds. Who can blame them.

Yes they really are on the whole a very civilised and orderly people, evidently well endowed with commonsense.

That of course is why they wish to remain in the EU which they strongly support.

Surely you know reversals of a statement are not necessarily true.

That a people with commonsense and good behaviour want to remain in the EU does not mean that all people who want to remain in the EU are necessarily endowed with commonsense and are of good behaviour.

I don't need to fly between Barcelona and Glasgow to be aware of the behaviour that can be seen, I was in the regular army for years with numerous Scots and have stayed in the old gorbals of Glasgow throughout Christmas and New Year, or Ne'er Day as the Scots call the latter.

Here is an example of Trump, an American hero to the 'Brexit'- loving supporters of the UK, and his lack of consistency:

For those who have been fed a diet of lies and tory-led propaganda all their lives, it's not difficult to understand how they might be as easily persuaded by this draft-dodging liar and tax cheat as they have been by Farage and all the rest of the 'Brexit' movers on the British political scene.

Trump will be regularly caught out with such inconsistencies, a motormouth is his substitute for policies.

I wonder how he'll tackle his Mexican wall promise once he discovers that Walmart don't stock a readymade range of walls.

With Trump's executive orders now being challenged and overturned by the country's senior legal brains and demonstrations of a size not seen in US cities in more than a generation, against his racially-motivated plans disguised as patriotic security measures, I'm beginning to believe his tenure of the highest office in the USA may well be short-lived.

This chap, an actor and comedian, has highlighted, not for the first time, how the American anti-immigrant and anti-refugee concerns have been blown out of all proportion for political gain. I'm not sure about the numbers quoted and I'm inclined to take those stats with a pinch of salt but the spirit of his point is undoubtedly true.

The next few weeks and months in American politics should be very interesting!

......He is very consistent... Every one of his tweets is a rant or a complaint, it's just that he changes the object . He is an equal opportunity ranter.
