When Ireland voted against the "treaty" (EU constitution) and Abortion, they were just made to "vote" again until the "ballot" went the EU's way! :-(
was it not up to the government of the day wanting certain result?
It was noted this week that CO2 emissions have decreased at record level in the EU zone (about 8% reduction from the power stations in 2023) thanks to expansion of wind, solar and restarting a number of nuclear power stations.

Charles has got nadger cancer? They would check nadgers while they're down there, particularly if the prostate was enlarged... Good news is he could win cycling championships like monoball Lance Armstrong, given enough HGH. Markle must get William bumped off?

It's called education. As Blair once said, Education, Education, Education, you just keep at it until they've learnt.

If Charles is now a monoball, he'll have that in common with Adolf Hitler, Nigel Farage, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lance Armstrong and Napoleon Bonaparte - testosterone supplementation often leads to radical changes in behaviour, he could go all gruff eco. I sincerely hope he does.

Ram Rovers have been upgraded for higher power impact. What the hell happened to the idea of low weight power efficient EVs? Potholes?

Any chance of meanie greenies stopping the coal mine fires, volcanoes and all the other natural vents above and under the sea venting gasses?
"But it's too difficult", that's defeatist, they should just try harder. Like the Dutch boy and the leaking dyke, plug it!
Maybe the reduction is farmer protests preventing politicians emissions :) (Humour)

Total Energy here in France announced today another record profit year, Shell and BP have had the same record year. Total Energy's electricity generating arm invest practically all its budget in renewables for the foreseeable future. renewable electricity cost less to make so it's a win win situation. CO2 emission is accompanied usually by other poisons in the air, Air quality is also the EU's top priority. so it makes sense to reduce as quickly as possible and eventually stop burning fossil fuels.

Their record profits are due to the globalists manufactured "conflict", applying "sanctions", which artificially drove up the price of energy.

The cost of "renewables" is irrelevant when the cost of electricity is rigged by the EU "market" at whichever is *Most* expensive.
(by the way, why call them "renewables" when they break after a few years and are landfill?).

Until there's a nuclear generated baseload, the sun shines at night, and the wind blows 24hr a day, legacy fuels are here to stay.

London above ground air has been proven to be fine. It's Khan's Underground air that is toxic, is he cleaning it up?

"The EU's priority". Reminds me of the saying "if Billy jumped off a cliff, would you jump too". Maybe people should think for themselves? :)

agreed.

not quite. The price of electricity is artificially increased by local taxes.

We should talk about net costs of fossil fuels versus renewables and the baseline per KWH cost of constructing the generators .
Gas/oil burning power stations costs about $512 per kwh while nuclear power costs $8,000+ per kwh to build. Solar:$1,561, wind: $1,383.
Fossil fuels are valuable resources as chemicals. Plastics would be a lot more difficult to make if we run out of oil.
Turning them to heat and poisonous fumes is vandalism.

I too am concerned by dictatorships seeking global domination. My ebike battery could initiate thermal runaway were my house to receive a direct hit from an ICBM.
