He goes round and round, explaining nothing new. He first made the separation between money and currencies, fair enough. He then substitutes frequently the word money for currencies and vice versa so acknowledging that there isn't a difference in practice.
He then said 'the financial system is rigged'. Hello? that's what central banks are for! Without central banks interventions, scores of banks would fail and investors would have jumped through the windows at each financial crisis.
What would be useful is to be truthful about the tax system of this country: we tax those who work more than those who are asset rich. The more you work, the higher tax rate you pay. Those who earn money without working get away with the least tax rate. The result? The working poor get poorer and the working middle class bear the biggest tax rate while those who are asset rich get forever richer.

How much cash you want to keep? I only keep 1 pound coin in my pocket for the supermarket trolley and often no cash or coin, just my phone and my debit card.

how are you going to buy anything in a power cut or government just turns it off for fun?

anyone that does a job and takes cash say a window cleaner dog walker car boots ect will all come to a end and dont forget when you pay with that card the shop has to pay a fee on that digital box so prices go up.

it is all about control.

and will you sack all ur staff and replace them with robots? because every one else will ed 209 out side currys fires missiles, can you run that fast with a 55inc tv :p

You made a good point but power cuts last only minutes or hours during which I would have bigger problems checking which works and which does not than go shopping.

It is all about control, the fake reality we live in in which we pretend everything's OK, the next bit of retail therapy is all that matter. Untill reality (cancer, dementia, divorce etc) intrude. Enjoy the cheap thrills while you can.

we all pay the price of convenience.
what would you do outside the system? Return to bartering? Soundwave wouldn't be fed any better in a power cut even if he has gold bars in his pocket.

on balance i agree, but there is a false dichotomy in here somewhere - it's possible to grow ones own food, go offgrid (as SW suggest further down), not get snagged entirely by the system, a snag is claiming benefits or trying to sell power to an energy utility, there are imho better ways to manipulate the collosus

But that doesn't necessarily beat the system.

For example, during WW2 we could keep up to 12 chickens producing eggs for our own household's consumption. Any more then that, even just 13 chickens, and ALL of the eggs had to be handed to a packing station for addition to the national supply and we would have to buy our eggs on ration from a shop.

How would the authorities know how many? They'd soon know alright. When a population is suffering deprivation in wartime, people start to behave in nasty unsocial ways if they perceive anyone appearing to get an advantage. So neighbours tell on neighbours and spite takes precedent. Saw it happening during that war.
