where are the carers coming from? there is always the hope that we could create robots to help care for the aged and cure the sick but as far as I can guess, me and my wife may have died before that happens.
Listening to Radio 4 this morning, the subject was PIP.
Disability benefits cost could rocket, report says - BBC News
Apparently, about 3.3 millions claim disability benefits. About half of them do so because of mental health. The long NHS waiting list is expected to add another million claimants in as little time as next 3 years.
This is extraordinary.
Is it because of what we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink or because carers' allowance and PIP are paid independently of state pension and pension credit?
People are catching nut-jobitis off Facebook. Put the phone / tablet down and get outside and do some gentle exercise outdoors with other people.

What do you think about Rosebank? Should we leave the oil and gas in the ground?

No, we should exploit it. Reasons:

1) We're not yet in a position to stop using oil or gas, so we should get our priorities right. That is reducing the requirement for them first.

2) They are not in short supply, so the world market for them is dictated by price and that total requirement. If we don't exploit that, the next price available will, so in environmental terms our decision has no effect.

3) Any we don't supply will include that by Russia, undermining sanctions. Sanctions were supposed to hit President Putin in the pocket, weakening his military capabilities. But in the secretive world of oil shipping, dark fleets and camouflaged cargos they have simply created new markets and new millionaires.

4) Net zero is a sham, including such provisions as planting trees (saplings) substituting for genuine reductions in carbon production. Neither we nor the world will reach net zero or anything like it by 2050, so as ever the result will be ever more desperate measures eventually, too little, too late. This is fundamental to human nature and nothing we do will alter it.

lots of sneezing, dry cough, a little sore throat, a little headache. I caught the thing two weeks ago while stuck on the M25 and again two days ago on the Boulevard périphérique, stuck for nearly 2 hours in a sea of cars and motorbikes. Both times tested negative for covid. One thing for sure, the motorbikes are the most pollutant vehicles in Paris and the biggest traffic dangers. I'd vote to force them to go electric asap.
No cough. Hellish in all the other ways - I reckon once again that I've been an early adopter of whatever the heck that was. Damned people, I can't avoid having to meet them. How will this hump shape up this winter? I hope it's extremely bad, kills millions to surely topple the Tories - Sunak's spreadsheet based approach with familiar demonising of the usual suspects via proxy messsaging, designed to usher natural Tory voters back into the fold would be obliterated.

Germany invites UK to reach improved Brexit trading deal
Finance minister offers standing invitation to ‘intensify your trade relationship to the EU’

And this
We're finally at the end of the brexit experiment, not with a bang but a whimper, as they say
