It's not policies Woosh. It's how people are perceived and how they react to problems in the party. Yes, Starmer is obviously a decent bloke but he doesn't transmit that character onto the party..
Folk assume I hate Labour Party, that's utter rubbish. I hate what labour have grown to represent.
Starmer would make a great administrative employee - handy for looking over details, but he's not a "Visionary" like Corbyn, who stank at details. It's a rare combination who can do both.

Agreed, and all the other stuff cheap..
Its like folk grumbling about state Columbia is in then going out and buying coke...
By all accounts, that really would be "Whizzbang" - what is it with so many people snorting coke all over the place? It only creates people like Boris, who exhibits all the signs of Cocaine Psychosis.

Made me laugh this morning. Report on radio said there was a shortage of Clowns in Ireland. Somebody replied "they were all in Brighton holidaying".

China is one of the few truly bankable countries in the world, but we could make things too - we should be digging up northern Scotland for rare earths and polluting our own shores to become the British Tiger! But no, we'd rather point at how polluting China is and buy pointless cheap tat through online souks instead, while magicing money out of thin air and living on usury.

For every company China has sent bankrupt I suspect one has grown retailing their products. Times have changed aswell. I, ve bought quite a lot of stuff through Alibaba and none of it was tat. Well engineered, well designed and less expensive.
A few years ago bought a ski tower from America for an American ski boat(Ski Nautique). Ordered from States, paid in States... Arrived from China.. But with made in America on it. I wonder what percentage of nearly all our cars, bikes, washing machines etc etc are actually built in China(or have many bits from China) ... Rather a lot I suspect.
Had a friend who insisted he, d never have a Chinese motorbike. Took his to bits... Most internals were Chinese..He, d probably never owned anything but Chinese motorbikes..

KS is already more popular than JC and Ed Miliband.
There is a parallel between how much the public trusts each party on the economy and GE success. Just look at the plot below:

You can see why I thought Labour Left are hopeless.

I do wish I was more hopeful of a Labour government, but I fear Starmer will be ultimately peak to tread water and nothing more - if the Tories time the next election right ie shortly after the next lockdown (about 8 weeks, plus a week or two).
I can see the attraction for BJ to call another election before Starmer builds up a head of steam but he would probably lose most of his majority. One third of UK workforce was furloughed, lots of them would resent BJ rightly or wrongly for loss of income in the last 18 months. Lots more will worry about higher taxes. Tory equals low tax no longer rings true.

But he'd be wise to count on the post-lockdown Covid "bounce". It's their best chance.

But it might be largely academic if we go ahead with 20mph across all residential/sensitive areas 24/7 as I think is currently expected and being trialled. (Or will be in the near future.)
Our whole borough is 20 limited apart from through routes, but that doesn't stop the fat tyred huge 4 x 4s hammering over the speed bumps at 40 while the rest of us with sensible cars suffer 24 hours a day. That's why I favour the triggered traffic light approach, with enforcement only in the 5% of time it's needed.

...and if they lose their majority, they'll offer up Gove or some other horror as leader, and rebrand, attempting to distance themselves from all that's gone before with "That was the old administration", "This is the new team", "Wasn't us gov," - like they did last time. Then they'll call another snap election and hey presto! Tories forever....

They'd have justification for a lockdown, because by them (looking at the graphs), hospitalisations would at about the same level as during the last peak.

49mph.

It was my failed attempt to join the 50 mph club we once had in pedelecs.

That was when we were mad young things in our seventies.
.
A 50mph club? I'll have another go after I true the front wheel...

there's an invasion through the use of debt to build roads, the purchase of ports all over the world etc. - none of that is in their defence budget, but they're weapons all the same.
No they are not weapons, since accepting them is entirely up to the recipients. They are acceptable political actions to achieve their ends, no different from what we do with aid and help in emergencies.
