Indeed. In reality even the 66% claimed by a more cautious maker was optimistic. That 95% protection from vaccination was not nonsensical at the time.. unfortunately the virus had not read the scientific papers.

B.Sone possibility is the number of people who have antibodies in Croydon is about same as national average (90%), = vaccinated + having had Covid. Less of the former and more of the latter.

Yes, the clinics doing this are a menace. Fortunately the specialists in the major private hospital chains won't have anything to do with these or the cataract replacement focussing lenses that fail too often.Patients warned implants could damage corneas and lead to sight loss
Thousands of Britons are believed to have had so-called 'phakic' lens operations to correct their vision. But the lens can cause irreparable internal damage that may require a cornea transplant.www.dailymail.co.uk
I know its not IOL replacement (cataract op) but it's still offered by private clinics. I was warned about this op 12 years ago by a consultant, yet it has continued to be offered. (and still is by some clinics, piggy back lenses)
NHS are picking these up, as mentioned in report.

Got a friend who was equally adamant as you Covid was all BS. He denied its existence and refused jab. He was 56 and enjoyed excellent health. He joined a group of anti vaxers online.
About 4 weeks ago he tested positive for covid. A week later he was in hospital and 5 days later on ventilation. He requested (not sure how, he couldn't talk at time) that doctors video his difficulty in breathing, which they did. He pulled around and got out yesterday. He, s posted his video online to the group he, d joined. He has changed his mind somewhat. Nothing like a reformed sinner or an ex smoker to push the message.
Stop being a fool Polly. What's it all about if its all BS? An explanation would do way more than a simple denial.
Well, I asked for that didn't I..
We see it all the time, champions hanging on too long. Lewis should have announced retirement at the 7th Championship. Schumacher made the same mistake by hanging on too long and making a failed comeback as a tailender. Happens in lots of sports and showbiz, previous stars trying to repeat past glories and looking increasingly silly. Nigel Mansell did it too in saloon car racing where he was useless. And again totally OT.
Thought Lewis Hamilton gave demeanour of a beaten, forlorn lonely individual after qualy yesterday. Wasn't just his disappointment at his performance, he, s been there before lots of times.
Time Lewis left all the mega rich, mega privileged white boys to race and play their games. He would be missed, after all he is without doubt the best fairest driver of all time. He, s matched Schumaker's records and beaten everyone else's and never resorted to type of tricks all the others did at various times in their careers. (ask Coultard about Schumaker)
Hope I, m wrong but think he, s already lost this GP and World Title to MV. Yesterday, either on or off track,he was not the LH of a few years ago.
The system really has taken its toll on him.
No.Are we expected to believe a word of that?
A very silly claim for Boris to make anyway. There was nothing the Foreign Office could have done. The Taliban had total mastery of the situation so were calling all the shots. The Blame game continues
According to the Sunday Times "Boris is exasperated that the Foreign office didn't do what he told them to about the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Are we expected to believe a word of that?
In fairness to the RAF ,they were flying missions into Kabul as late as yesterday evening. At present the only aircraft are US the Flight Radar app is a mine of informationA very silly claim for Boris to make anyway. There was nothing the Foreign Office could have done. And who is responsible for appointing all ministers? Hence, the person upon whom ultimate responsibility must fall? And who doesn't have the slightest concept of bearing...The Blame game continues

Possibly necessity that we clear early. The Americans are going to need most or all of the Monday/Tuesday landing slots to clear their large number of troops, particularly since they will be manning the airport departures until the last minute. In fairness to the RAF ,they were flying missions into Kabul as late as yesterday evening. Not from my reading of the data. There were typically 1 aircraft on the ground there at most times. Occasionally 3 to 4 , and nothing over any Afghan airspace for the last 2 hours. My point was that the RAF were still going in a full day and a half after other countries except the US had pulled out . The airport looks like it could handle 20 aircraft.. .. But if targeted with artillery and those Globemasters make big targets..Possibly necessity that we clear early. Understood, I was only thinking in terms of the USA and Britain, the main players. It would have been easy for the other countries to pull out much earlier, given the minor parts they were often playing, sometimes only administrative. Not from my reading of the data. My current take is that the Taliban have blockaded any access to the airport,so not much point in sending planed.
It's not as if the fall of Kabul was a surprise. It would have been easy for the other countries to pull out much earlier
And an update ... Things change... there are now two US Globemasters just cleared Afghanistan and at least 3 heading towards it. Whether Kabul or elsewhere not at all clear. Not from my reading of the data. There were typically 1 aircraft on the ground there at most times.
