The world is surely going mad
I really cannot understand the Mail Online's agenda running a November 2006 article about Patel being in favour of the Death penalty.
Unless they are sounding out the public's attitude to even worse excesses against human rights than even the ones they are presently inflicting on the country

Restore death penalty and never scrap the pound' says Priti Patel
As I posted a few days ago, the Mail has appointed a pro EU editor who had views very unlike the Mail's previous agenda, so clearly they have changed course.

Of course newspapers have no morals so it's all about money. Newspapers are struggling for revenues so perhaps they think they'll be more popular if they start being an opposition rather than a cheer leader for the Tories. You may have noticed that even the Express has tilted slightly that way of late with only the Telegraph staying true blue.

Of course it will only last if it pays.

For some reason I found myself supporting France tonight. What’s happening to me?
Probably the blood in your brain has all seized up... Its the AZ of course. I also was rooting for France, .. a comeback from 10points down with 6minutes left on the clock was incredible. Mind you I thought the England France game of last week was the highest quality skilled game I ever saw either team play... So good was it that I didn't begrudge England its victory at all.

Merkel and Macron are set to back illegal EU plan

morbid fascination how the EU is doing or desire to give ourselves a pat on the back? or is it electioneering as young middle age people like Kelly Spencer on BBC Click was so pleased that he cried when his vaccine call arrived?

still, some EU countries have followed UK's lead to extend the gap between first and second jab from 21 days to 35 days.

Here is the EU vaccine tracker:
COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker | European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (europa.eu)

Figures on vaccine stock: 68.7M doses received, 54.9 millions administered (80%) 13.8 million doses in stock, half of it is AZ, just under 7 million doses.

Well it's all the fashion to break international laws like we did, and seriously we effectively do the same with vaccine, not to mention 100 Covid treatment related drugs.
But Oh what fodder for the Murdoch press!
We'll be sending a gunboat to bombard the lorries waiting on their coast to bring food to the UK as an Easter present!

That'l learn 'em
They won't like it up 'em!
(as we say in Yorkshire)
This explanation might add clarity to the situation

Or perhaps it won't?
:D

the EU did not break any law. Article 122 of the EU treaty allows the Commission to impose export control in exceptional circumstances like severe shortage of essential goods. It's counter productive any way. Producers of chemicals and consumables for the manufacture of the vaccines are dispersed all over Europe. Export control will harm all countries. Our own capacity is way behind Germany's, Spain, the USA and France.
It's a fight we can't win.

It's just the right wing press fighting May election.

That’s like writing your own rule when playing a solo game of Monopoly. Rules which allow you buy Mayfair when you land on Old Kent Road. In other words, it’s boll ocks.

You are aware of the embargo this country has placed on exporting 100 drugs associated with the treatment of severe Covid cases?
Care to explain the difference?
That must be boll ocks too eh??
Or is it just fine because it isn't being done by "Johnny Foreigners"? :D

Some interesting stats in this article by Spiegelhalter. I think many people have suggested that you were more likely to suffer side effects (usually very mild ones) with the AZ vaccine that the Pfizer.

This does now seem to be the case, when it comes to people reporting side effects the rate is double for AZ compared to Pfizer. As mentioned most of these side effects are very mild and nothing to worry about.

On the poll I have previously mentioned, side effects reports have risen steadily. Now about 19.5% report side effects other than the ones we are specifically advised as being common. That was nearer 10% to begin with. (I suspect quite a few who have no side effects worth mentioning do not do the poll. So not to be taken too seriously.)

People are positively encouraged to yellow card such side effects. After all, how can "they" know what is happening if we do not tell them?

I do like the way that chap holds a mirror up to us. :)

It's double edged though. We, ve seen EU (or individual countries for Flecc and OG) for what they are.
Its shut up most but the ardent remoaners, the deluded ones are still wittering but nobody listens to extremist fools.

Just to show the interconnectedness... About this time last year, the US was ramping up production of test kits, and of course wanted to ban travel from Italy,in particular. The major global producer of the long plastic sticks for holding the swabs was located in Bergamo!.

You don't understand Brits.. They love being isolated, last man standing, under dog.. You watch... They are like the school weirdo, bullies leave alone or learn to after been set on fire.
In a way Von Leyen is playing into Tory hands. Press will be in overdrive, EU are the bullies we are in the right fighting unjust corrupt organisations. Dunkirk all over again, and Agincourt, and Crecy. Public dont know or care we lost 100 year war. Henry 5th saved the day.
We are masters at turning defeat into victory or what is viewed as victory anyway.
